I had my hair cut by Jodie and she made me feel very relaxed and helped me to understand what is best for the hair style I asked for. My hair feels amazing and I love the finished look! G. T.Today marked my first hair cut since before the pandemic began. Joseph was my stylist for years before that, so I was delighted to hear that he and Jodie had opened their own salon!
The salon itself is beautifully light, contemporary and thoughtfully designed. It was wonderful to hear how much Joe and Jodie care about sustainability and cruelty free products too. (Even the flooring is made from bamboo!)
Oh and I love that their website is mobile friendly allowing for quick and easy booking/rescheduling online. (Something many salons overlook I think.)
I had a lovely catch up with Joe today (with an excellent cup of coffee) and felt so relaxed and pampered.
I honestly can’t wait to visit again and will be recommending nu-hair to everyone. Thank you both so much!
A. T.South/East Asians in Oxford, this is the place to go for haircuts. One of the best hairstyling experiences my partner and I have ever had (across 4 countries)! I have thick and wiry East Asian hair that I got cut into a short layered bob, and my partner also has long, thick and textured South Asian hair that they got trimmed and layered w/ curtain bangs.
Joseph did such a wonderful, skilled and meticulous job with both our cuts. He is the most communicative hairdresser I've ever had - he listens to you, knows exactly what he is doing and explained every step thoroughly so I had a chance to make adjustments. The service was excellent - had a cup of tea and a lovely conversation, Joseph and Jodie made me and my partner feel very comfortable. We never felt rushed or unwelcome.
The salon itself was clean, modern and very cozy and the products they use are excellent quality. Am so relieved I no longer have to go to London to find a stylist I trust with my hair type. Would recommend anyone to support this lovely business!
