Had Eugene who is very friendly and a real pro. The dry man’s cut I had was super efficient and affordable. If you are new in town and unsure about this barber shop, I would say just go for it.

There is something to be said about a posh barbershop with big lounge chairs, cozy atmosphere and ample small talk before you get to the haircut. Oxford Spires Barbers isn't any of it. It is instead unassuming, clinical and clean. The barber is professional and quick. He isn't chatty but he asks the important questions to get you the haircut that you want. The price is significantly cheaper than other places (especially if you are a student). It's an easy recommendation if you just want a haircut done well without the fuss and spectacle that accompanies other establishments.

Come here several times during my time in Oxford and each time got a great haircut at a reasonable price (£12 for students). I was sceptical when I saw a new barber in the shop but Eugene was brilliant and a lovely bloke who I enjoyed chatting with. Will return here for my post-second lockdown haircut!

Everyone really friendly, nice and clean but for the best haircut and advice ask for Anthony. Not only does he do a great job but he really knows his stuff when it comes to looking after your hair and how best to cut it. Myself and my son wouldn't go anywhere else.

Dropped in for a cheap haircut and was pleasantly surprised to get a cheap and great haircut. It's hard for me to find barbers who can handle my hair, so I wasn't surprised when Anthony told me quite frankly that the last person butchered the top, which is why it wasn't lying right. He was clearly very knowledgeable about the art and science of a proper haircut for all kinds of hair types--not something I was expecting for 12 quid haircut. He cleaned it up, showed me a better way to style my hair, and was friendly throughout. It's too bad I was just visiting--I'd go back to Anthony every time and gladly pay more, too.

There are over 15 barbers in short walking distance of each other from the High Street to Cowley road. So plenty of choice for joe public to choose from, but it is Anthony at Oxford Spires Barbers that I like the most. You're always guaranteed a great haircut along with a good conversation. He spends time to get to know your haircut preference and you in general. You can't fault his customer service and haircutting skills.

I have been going here for several years, since Anthony has been there I have never had a bad haircut, Anthony not only gives you a good haircut but loads of advice, I felt like having a beard, he not only showed me the best shape for my face but advice on how to trim it, if you ask Anthony's advice he will give you very sound honest straightforward advice as well as some good conversation. I cannot recommend Oxford Spires Barbers, and particularly Anthony enough, suffice to say its a 1.5 mile round trip walk for me to go there, even in the rain! If you want a decent haircut go here and see Anthony.

Superb barber – Well worth a trip into town! I had my hair cut here three days before getting married. I only came in because it is right opposite the Oxford Bus Company office in Queen Lane. Didn’t even know there was a discount for bus company staff when I came in but there is. Came in on a lunch break, straight into a chair. The guy was very polite, asked me how I wanted my hair cut, etc. Didn’t make mindless small talk, just got on with it. He did an excellent job. I’ve tried several barbers in Oxford and this was the best haircut I’ve had. My new wife loved it! Highly Recommended.

So when Antoine leaves, have no fear. The business - and your hair - will stay in good hands! The downside is that these 2 guys would have to charge more money for the service. I refused to accept 8 pounds from a 20 note, so I left them an extra 3 pounds to thank them for their good service.
