V. I.First time haircut here and what a cut! Compliments all day long, Jaxx' has a masterful touch with scissors and trimmers, has an eye for detail and you can tell he loves what he does.
Had a complete restyle and the fade is perfection.

J. P.I first came here 6 years ago when I moved to Preston for Uni, and I've never gone anywhere else for a cut since. It was the local barbers for me when I first moved into halls so being the closest I thought I'd give it a go. I now live on the complete other side of town, where I do have a couple of barbershops very close to my house, but it's more than worth the journey across town to make sure I get the same top-quality cut.
I always get my haircut with Jaxx, who welcomes you in like an old friend, offers you a bottle of beer (they've also got water and cans of cola) on the house whilst you wait, which is such a nice touch. Jaxx is a genuinely good-natured bloke, always listens to you about how you want to style your hair and what you'd like doing, and he's got more than enough knowledge to take your descriptions and turn them into a really decent cut. I've never once left here feeling like he's not quite got it right - it's always 100% spot on, that's why I'll always keep coming back.
They use the Nearcut app for appointment scheduling, which works a treat for me. A simple few clicks on the app and I can schedule in an appointment, which is super handy for me as I work shifts so have different hours each week, and I can imagine it's more than helpful for the barbers as they know who's coming and when. They take walk-ins too, as far as I'm aware, but I'd recommend using the app so you're sorted for a time slot.
The price is appropriate for the quality of cut you get (It costs £13.50 for a "Gents Shape-up", where I get a 0.5 - 1.5 fade and trim on the top, which is their standard cut price) and when you factor in the complimentary drink and lovely staff, it's a no-brainer. Genuinely can't recommend this place enough, there's nothing worse than getting an absolute shocker of a trim, but with Jaxx on the tools at Johnsty's there's never any doubt you'll get exactly what you want.

In my case both babers give their own opinion about what haircut and style will suit my head/face shape they are just so amazing, while you are waiting they have a Xbox one which you can play while you wait to be acquainted too.
it's the little times which make you feel welcome when being here they always welcome you a hello as you enter and a friendly goodbye and thank you when leaving they also offer you complementary drinks even a cheeky shot of sourz on special occasions.
My friends from Birmingham who come visit me say one thing they always love doing is heading to Johnsty's before a night out.
The only negative thing I can say about this place is the fact that it's in Preston so when I leave uni for my holidays I miss the place way too much.
If you're a New student living in either IQ or Moor Lane halls you should give this place a shot.
