We're really lucky here in Reading to have a place like this. I go for a beard trim and the guys do a fantastic job. Its a friendly, cool space and most importantly they're top notch operators. Also they don't hustle you in and out and take pride in their work. A premium service (not elitist) but worth every penny- people come from far and wide. There's other guys doing this is the area, some very good, but 58 is the best.

Classy shop, classy guys, classy haircuts! It has been now 4-5 times I had a haircut there. The shop with its high ceiling does not have the trapped feeling you get in other shops. Decorations look indie and original, are better than many coffee shops around. It was easy to book the appointment via website. The guy I am having my haircuts with is like a mate already. Moreover, he understands what I ask for and delivers it. I also like the products they use. Prices are on the webpage and they worth in my opinion.

I‘ve put off writing this review, it’s already hard enough to get an appointment when I want it. So I’m still not sure why I’m writing this. I’ve been getting my hair cut by Mark for about 4 years. I’ve had my hair cut by a couple of the of the others too. Christopher, I think owns the place, was good too. For me it’s a bit of a hassle that it’s in town. I don’t live close. I’ve tried closer barbers, often they are cheaper. I keep coming back here. I’m not sure there is anywhere else I’d get my beard trimmed.. They usually play good tunes too.

Absolutely fantastic barbers, for the first time in years I feel like I've hair a haircut, rather than having hair that's been cut. Mark took his time to listen to how I style my hair and what I want even if I can't explain it, then took his time to look at my head and how my hair actually grows to give me the best cut for how it falls naturally. I left feeling like i had got what I wanted and needed, and will definitely be going back to have it maintained! Update 2022: still going here, still get a great cut, still get a discussion about what I want and whether it'll work. Still happy.

They're the best. been to loads of different barbers, im a very vain individual also useless at trying to describe what i want. I managed to spit out a barely comprehensible sentence and Josh just knew. been going ever since for over 18 months now? and the conversation is decent, you never feel awkward. you also get the occasional free beer. What's not to like?

If you're fed up of being herded like cattle at a basic barbers and feel like a fish out of water at a salon, try 58 Barbershop. I did over 2 years ago and won't go anywhere else now. Great rapport a proper discussion about what you want and not rushed to get you out the door. Yes it costs more and you almost always need to book in advance but if you value a decent hair cut it's worth it. Adam cuts my hair and is great, the other guys are equally good too.

This is a place you can easily walk past - but shouldn't. The staff are super friendly, the cuts are consistently great, and the pricing is right. If you have curly hair and are looking for a barber who knows how to cope with that, ask for Adam. He's been doing my hair ever since I moved to Reading and I hope he stays in barbering for a long time to come.

Highly recommended! Was looking for a great barbers nearby (why is it so hard to find a decent one?). Saw the great reviews and went for it, and the cut was top-notch (Cheers Adam!). Friendly staff, great chilled retro vibe, and they really take their time, down to the finest detail. Brilliant!

The only problem with thid place is that is closed on Sundays and it's hard to get an appointment on Saturdays. Having a cut there it's an experience that everyone should try. Professional, courteous, relaxing experience. I wish them all the best
