The owner is kind and knowledgeable, I visited last week and asked for box braids. She took the time to talk to me about my hair, explained why she would not recommend them for my hair type and complimented me on way I was already wearing my hair. I really appreciated this as there are other salons who would have just taken my money instead of advising me on what was best. I will certainly go back there again in future.

Sfaff is very friendly and helpful. 10 stars for the staff.. It's very clean, they got everything you need like a big tv with netflit & youtube installed.

Red carpet had bounce back to life. The staff were very welcoming today and great customer service. My nails were done within an hour and they looked perfect and could see the ladies doing some lovely hairstyles. Oh there is a gorgeous man hairstylist as well.

OK, however I wouldn't go back. Waited 1.5 hours to get my nails done. There is only one man doing nails (apparently this is always the case). It wasn't overly friendly, and when we walked in there was no one to welcome us in and give us information easily. When it was our turn to get our nails done we felt very rushed making decisions (it's not a regular thing for us so we wanted to know more imformation on what nail treatments were available. We felt he was unwilling to talk us through what was what, and we ended up picking at random). The finished quality of the nails were OK but not fantastic. The shape was not exactly as I asked, and the gel dried funny on one finger resulting in a lump on the nail. The colour also didn't go right up which left a visible gap - I think if a little more care was taken in general I would be more likely to return. As positives - The colour was nice and the nails have lasted over a week so far.

Amida and her team are very professional and always deliver on their service. As a European customer wanting dreadlocks with extensions finding a salon wasn't easy... they put me completely at ease! Discussed all the aftercare of having them and even though it was a timely process the price was decent! Would highly recommend this salon for European and afro hair! Also the staff are hilarious and the banter is brilliant!

The owner of this establishment is soo lovely and reassuring when it comes to service and hair needs, advice etc. I do believe one staff member needs an attitude adjustment but apart from that, very welcoming salon. The waiting time is very reasonable even in peak times. I had no booking yet time was found for me. Its very rear for ANY salon to fit you in at short notice , this was a bonus! I would recommend and consider going here again. You truly are in good hands

I stumbled upon this salon. Amida and her team are highly professional and with a high demand of clients. However, this does not stop them from delivering a high-quality finish. Although I had to wait a little while it was completely worth it. This team are warm, welcoming, full of banter and you can be assured to leave Amida's salon feeling like a super start with a stride in your step. I now travel to the Red Capet Salon to get hair down, because a good hairdresser and the genuinely nice person is hard to come by. I have also stayed at a location provided by Amida, which, can be booked through Airbnb, at a reasonable price with excellent value for money. No set price list. People make noise about not supporting local businesses when all some do is EXPLOIT the situation. Overpriced! They expect you to negotiate the cost of a standard hair style in front of their many other customers. What's wrong with having a price list for standard hair styles that all customers understand so they know what they're letting themselves in for rather than hit them with a bombshell at the end? If you want to only appeal to high end customers make a list that shows this too. Some of us are regular folks who just want a regular hair do that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I've been going to this saloon for nearly 5 years and all I can say is This is one of the best saloon in reading on oxford road, you get what you pay for. Amida is one of the best hairdressers so as her team. I call them transformers. The best place to do your hair. And I've had cornrows done brilliantly by Amida, strange that someone said they can not do cornrows. I like the fact that they also have parking which I doubt any saloons on that road have and I find other saloons are fly by night no professionalism whatsoever, speaking their language loud whilst doing your hair, playing their country music loud, red carpet has been there for a long and are a reputable saloon. I'm a happy customer and will always go back there, wouldn't allow my hair to be terrorised by other saloons. If you want your hair to be done professionally that's the place for you. I like the fact that she will even give you advice, won't just do something to your hair that will make you look like a ghost or something worse.
