Life is not all about the end result , what you wear and who you wear. I've been getting fresh trims all over the South and yes there are plenty of good barbers but there is something different about AK Grooming Rooms. It's the experience, the way you walk in, you feel respected as any customer should feel. You sit down and after a long journey or a hard day at work you are asked "would you like a drink" A drink you might think and yes we are still in a Barber shop ... I asked for a recommendation. "A Turkish Tea" the Young Charming Owner said I sat down and while sipping my beautiful Tea, none of the barbers rushed even though the line was building and as a busy man that would usually frustrate me but it sent a message of commitment and pride in every cut they do. For the price you pay , you get an experience like no other. These Many good men are professional, likeable and artists of their industry. Also you Must go in and meet Pablo 🐈🐱

I was worried about coming into a barbers because I've been to one before, but I knew only a barber could do the undercut I wanted. I was instantly put at ease when I came in. I was welcomed straight away and asked what I was looking for. I showed a photo and was told they a colleague could do this cut. I was asked to have a seat (I was expecting to get booked for an appointment, like in a hairdressers). They asked if I'd like a drink and got to sit with their lowvly cat. I kmew that this might be a difficult task for a barber to do, as I have very long hair but honestly when I got to see the outcome, I was shocked, one of the best hair cuts I've ever had. The service was fantastic, everyone was welcoming and kind. I highly recommend.

Amazing traditional Turkish barber shop. The people are very friendly, kind and love what they're doing. They will offer you a drink or Turkish coffee while you are waiting. I get the skin fade by Selim who cuts hair with great precision and quickly understands what you want him to do with your hair with minimal explaining needed. After their done with the cut you get treated with flame around the ears and a hot towel (sometimes you get an arm adjustment as well and you can also ask for a face mask). They have a variety of great quality hair products and perfumes (you can use the perfumes on your hair). I am a Greek student in Southampton and out of all barber shops, A-K Grooming is the best one by far.

It was my first time coming over for a hair cut. I was welcomed with open arms and everyone was friendly and approachable. I was offered a drink while I waited, which is a great touch in customer service. I didn't have an appointment but the wait wasn't very long. I have to say this has been one of the better experiencies with getting my hair cut. The barber knew exactly what I wanted and executed it flawlessly. The wash and hot towel were great extras, and I left looking forward to come back for another hair cut. This is a barber where you are treated like family, and always welcomed. Definitely recommended and will be coming back soon.

A first for me when it come to male grooming in the likes of a mud mask, face wash followed by a nice scented hot towel, a hair cleanse and one of the best fades I have ever had, the attention to detail is impeccable and the communication towards the barber and I was great, I was definitely made to feel welcome and when I’m next in Southampton I’ll be sure to be making an appointment again. Its definitely an experience I can not ignore. The professionalism, the kind courtesy and clients best interest is definitely at heart. I can not thank my Barber Mustafa enough for the great job he did both at cutting my hair and lifting my spirits after a long stressful few weeks away from home. This is the best place in Southampton to get your hair cut. They provide a range of services which are all excellent. The staff are very friendly and quick so you can probably go in a lunch break if they aren't busy. Can be quite busy at peak times but if you go when it's quiet you can walk straight in and sit in a chair for a cut. I normally have my hair and beard done - both look better when done here than any other barber I have visited.

I had booked the VIP experience at AK Grooming to be ready for my upcoming holiday. As I walked in I was greeted by someone, directed to hang up my jacket and then offered a traditional Turkish coffee. The coffee came with a Turkish delight which was a nice touch. The VIP experience included a skin fade, wet shave, hot towel, facial and eyebrow threading. The barber I had was skilful and the cut was perfect. What I really liked about the experience is that nothing felt rushed - the barber really took his time to perfect the cut/shave and made sure it was exactly how I wanted it. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a high quality haircut.

Fantastic experience overall. From hospitality to banter and haircut, couldn't ask for anything better. I've been visiting monthly since March 2021 and this is the first place where I've had the experience of vaguely explaining what I want and getting exactly what I was expecting, especially with Mustafa. So if you're looking for a good barber to be loyal to, these lads are your people. Oh and there is a nice cat who is extremely friendly.

Very happy with the service the AK crew provide,always offered a drink when I come in and to take my jacket and hang it up for me. Very happy with my haircut when I go here they are very precise and meticulous and always ask if your still happy with how your hair is during your haircut. I normally go for my usual 4 on the sides and back with a few inches off the top as i dont like my hair to short,they always want you to be happy with your haircut so will always listen to what your happy with. Haircut/Wet shave with cut throat totalling £34 with a loyalty stamp to. Added bonus of seeing Pablo to :)

I’ve lived in Southampton for 4 years now as a student and I’ve been to many different barbers but this was by far the best barbershop experience I’ve had while being here. The first thing you experience is how warm and welcoming everyone who works there is. Some barbers can make you feel unwelcome if you are a walk-in but my experience at AK was so pleasant. I was greeted with a big smile from all the staff and they even offered me a drink while I waited. After reading all the other reviews, I understand that this is customary behaviour which is such a welcome change to other barbershops. The haircut lived up to and exceeded my expectations. Mustafa (the barber that cut my hair) provided a wonderful service, and the love he has for his craft is very evident. Not only was I happy with my haircut, Mustafa was very kind, and gave me a discount as I am a student and it was my first time. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at AK Grooming and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a great haircut and barbershop experience in Southampton.

I've been to three different barber shops in Southampton and this is the first time I'm happy with the cut. As soon as they start cutting your hair you can tell they know what they are doing. Many times you go to the barber, you show them a picture and they start cutting your hair without knowing what you actually want. If this happens to you, don't feel pressured to leave the place and rant with a bad review. Just tell your barber that you're not happy about something and he'll fix it 100%. I'm from Spain and prices there are half of what they are here in the UK. Considering this, if you want a perfect result, I don't think the service is overpriced at all.

Best barber shop in Southampton. These guys know how to give proper trim! Offered coffee and tea as soon as you walk in, get a solid haircut and a nice massage too. Salim was amazing, focused on the detail of the haircut and made sure I was happy the whole time! Mustafa gave me one of the best fades I have had in the city, and continued to make sure I was happy throughout the haircut. Any barber you get will do pefect job with whatever trim you want. Everyone works well, is talkative and the shop is such a great environment.

Booked an appointment via the website (fast responses) was greeted by Muss who offered refreshments and then took me to my seat. All staff were easy going, courteous and professional. Muss advised me on what would work best for my hair (thinning) and I got the fade he recommended. He made me feel at ease which was much appreciated due to my social anxiety. They provide the standard services expected from a Turkish barber but to a London standard (best experience so far in Southampton). I will book there again.

This time I had a load of blonde highlights in my beard and wanted my beard trimmed as little as possible to get rid of it and they did that and much more. For only £18 you get to feel like a king while getting your hair completely changed if it is as messy as mine was, everything from free drinks were offered to a massage at the end, honestly the best experience I've ever had i have only been 3 times now but it never changes even though i have seen different people everytime. I will sadly be movibg away otherwise this barbershop would be my permanent and i am honestly thinking of doing the travel work for it anyway. This barbers is a typical Turkish bar. With polite respectable staff all Turkish. AK is the manager and Pablo the cat is always there to great you. He does notice and watch all his soundings, if he's note in the barbers due to weather being wet, he'll be outside the front door, to great you to his little home. Their Turkish coffee is traditional served Black like an Americano, but the twist is a delightful surprise with a Turkish delight served at the side with a cocktail stick. If been in one then this is a must. The staff are well mannered, polite and will pass the time of day with you.Their prices are very reasonable. Cut throat rasors, hot towels and shave with a rasor, a hair cut with scissors and trimmers. A bread trim can be done too. The most happy joyful well respectful people that I know in the city of Southampton. They never ask for a thing but give you a fantastic smile as a personal greetings. If I can rate this barbers I would give 20 out of 10 stars. Well done Gents. Let you business long continue.

My first professional haircut in over a year since lockdown started. I like AK Grooming so much that I actually travel from Fordingbridge to Southampton to get my hair cut. The service is always professional, very friendly and the grooming room is always clean. I look forward to having a Turkish coffee when I visit, it just adds to the experience. Getting my haircut at AK is always a joy and very relaxing. They wash your hair first and then cut/style and then wash again. Next comes the flaming to singe those unwanted neck/ear hairs. Next a hot towel to my face and massage to my neck, shoulders and arms. Finishing off with a final style , bit of wax. Excellent as always.

Once upon a time, I was on a quest for a hair cut on a sunday and stumbled into the AK Grooming Room... Inside this den I found friendly wizards who transform your appearance by waving sharp objects around your head and making snip snip noises. There was a bizzare ritual involving a hot towel wrapped around my head (I communed with the passed elders) and then a cleansing of the ears by fire (demons be gone) My appearance was altered in such a way, that I thought my reflection in the looking glass was that of George Clooney. In return, I had to make a transaction of about £18. A trivial amount of money for such an adventure.

Moved to Southampton a few months ago and struggled to look for a good barber. This place is lovely and welcoming, i have to have my passport renewed therefore needed to trust someone to do an excellent job and i was not disappointed. I have been to many different Barbers in my life and I can truly say this was a hair grooming experience of the highest quality. I needed a haircut and threading service for my beard but the service I got far exceeded my expectations. The people who work there are extremely friendly and well and truly make you feel welcome, relaxed and comfortable. From the taking of your Jacket and a drink of your choice, to the hairwashing before and after the cut, to the threading, shaving and cutting of my beard, to the hot towels, head and arm massage and flame to burn the little hairs in and around your ears, the care and attention to detail from these hair dressers is unbelievable. Also the boss who has cut my hair is a very friendly guy. I am more than satisfied with the haircut and the prices are also very good! I'm so fussy about my haircut and hate it when I go to a new barber, but I needed a cut and decided to try out this traditional Turkish barber close to the office I'm working in today. I randomly passed this salon today from being at Remembrance Sunday . Convenience made me stop and enquire in . Good shout this is the best experience of having my hair cut Iv ever had . It’s not just a cut it’s a service , it’s an experience. I ended up with the full works for £31 from a wash and cut at £14.50 but for sure it was worth it . A proper grooming session with from who appears to be an extremely experienced barber. Clippers , scissors, Turkish cut throat razor, waxing , real flames , hot towels and a face mask thrown in and all sorts of products in between for a great beard trim and hair cut. Now I’m not vain in any way and I know male grooming is on the up with the lads but this was my 1st time in my mid 40s and the Turkish sure know how to do it in style and make you feel good ! So I’ve been to this place a couple times, had a decent cut but a bit on the pricy side, but I don’t mind if the cut is good. However this experience was dreadful, went in, thought I was having one of the experienced guys as he asks what I wanted, I asked for a (skin fade) then I assume one of the trainees walks over and picks up the razor and fully what I can described as the one of the worst attempts at a skin fade I’ve ever seen, they had two swap barbers half way though because they were shocked at how bad of a job he done. He tried to cover it up but the damage was already done. I was given £3 off my total taking it to £20 for a bad haircut, am not impressed. Safe to say I will now have to wear a hat for the next couple weeks to cover it up... Issue resolved, got refund. They were very apologetic and understanding to the situation. Would recommend as on previous occasions the cut I received was immaculate👍👍👍

My afternoon started whilst going into a barbers in Southampton and the barber who cut my hair did it wrong and made a mess of it. So instead of complaining and making a scene I decided to go to an old hairdressers that I had been to before to get my hair amended. On arrival I noticed two new barbers in the shop I walked in and was immediately greeted warmly by the friendly gents. I was offered a seat and a beverage of my choice whilst I waited for my cut to be begin. I waited a few moments and was given a free coffee and a Turkish delight which helped make me a little calmer about the situation that I had 30 minutes previous at the other barbers. When the barber had finished preparing he offered me a seat in the chair and asked what I would like to be done. I said that my hair had been messed up by a previous barber and I would like you to sort out the mess she had made. The barber cracked on with my hair and told me how him and his brother had recently taken over the shop and were planning big things. He told me about all the deals and offers he would introduce and how he just wanted to make it a affordable service but a friendly and quality service also. The gent was friendly and kind and someone who was easy to get along with and we had a good talk about Southampton and what the local area has to offer as him and his brother were new to the area. At the end of my cut which looked 10 times better than it did before the gent gave me an arm massage which was different but very relaxing and also tidied the rest of any unwanted hair (face and ears) that I had. He then offered me wax for my hair which he also put in. As I left the chair and walked to the till he told me about how much the cuts normally charge and how he would like me to spread the word about the new takeover of the barbers. I was just about to pull money from my wallet to pay him for his service and kind work when he said "it would not be necessary today as I had been messed about by the previous barber". I always pay for all my haircuts and at no point did I expect to get this free all I was after is a previous hairdresser who was more reliable to complete the job that the previous had started. Getting this for free was something that I didn't expect but was fantastic and so generous of the barber to even offer. I did not pay the full amount for the cut but I did give the man a tip and am writing this review to put on record how generous, kind and caring this barber was. I would without doubt return for another cut at this barbers and I strongly recommend this barber to anyone in the Southampton area. They are a new business which will be a little more priced for the service but you will not regret paying a few quid more for what you get. They are friendly warm and very good at what they do and I am so grateful for the service and the kindness I received after what had been a stressful morning. I want to spread the word about this barber, give them a try they are based on 127 Above Bar St, Southampton SO14 7FN, There absolutely fantastic.

I’ve been searching for a regular barber to tame my unruly old grey beard for at least five years. Blades, combs, flames, tweezers, balms and potions, hot towels and an arm massage were all over too quick, each time i thought he was done, the next phase started, remember, its not over until the handshake! On my way looking sharp and feeling good and the hole in the pocket was no where near some of the prices i've been charged Thank you gents I think you have just earned a regular customer! Stumbled accross this traditional Turkish barber, what a find!! We were given Turkish tea and coffee on arrival. I then sat with the shops cat while they gave my partner his best haicut ever before wrapping him in hot towels and massaging his arms and shoulders.
