My partner and toddler both had their hair cut here today, both were seen straight away and had really good hair cuts. Really friendly staff, did a great job with my wriggly toddler, I could tell he felt at ease and happily chatted away to the hair dresser. We will definitely be going back again, thanks ladies.

Tracy is the absolute best barber in Southampton! She has cut my son's hair for the last 12 years and always does a great job. She's great with little kids and teenagers. The shop is always nice and clean, you never have to wait very long and all the staff are always friendly.

Friendly staff who are grounded and down to earth. The lady who cut my hair took time to ask me what I wanted and when I wasnt sure she made some suggestions and was incredibly patient. I was getting my hair cut for my wedding and I told the lady that it was very important to me to look good. I am happy with the result and while I had no clue what I wanted when I entered I was completely satisfied when I left. I will definitely be returning, its nice to find a place where the staff have no issues with their ego's, genuinely listen to their customers and are warm and welcoming. I will be recommending Jane's to my friends and family and would suggest anyone looking for a barber tries them.

Really nice place with a friendly atmosphere.Tracey cut my hair again & she's very talented and IMHO the best barber in Southampton .( I've tried a lot of them around town but will stick with Jane's now! ) She's also a lovely person who makes you feel very comfortable and takes her time. Very resonable prices too , great value at only £10 !

I have been coming to Jane's Barber Shop since 2006 - a chance find but what a great one! I have never had a bad cut from any of the ladies in here, although Tracey is the one who usually cuts my hair. Everyone is super friendly. I have also been taking my son here for the last couple of years and Tracey has been so patient with him. Keep doing what you're doing as it's definitely working!

This is a fantastic place for a haircut. The staff are all really friendly and actually listen to what you're asking of them. Prices are sensible and probably average and they also do a student discount. Since it's not in the most obvious of places it's definitely worth seeking out for a quality mop chop.

Before coming here with my 4 year old son i was so sure that he wouldn't sit there and have it done due to me previously trying to trim his hair and he use to run off and refuse but after leaving him until he was sure he wanted it done i took him to Jane's barber shop for his first ever cut! And the women there are amazing! They made him feel comfortable and was so chatty with him! And now he can't wait to go back for another each time! I wish i could give this review more stars! A lovely experience coming here. The hairdresser, who I think was Jane, was really a very nice person. My hair cut was excellent, she took the time to make it nice rather than in out in 5 minutes. And we chatted about things going on and gigs in Southampton. A lovely experience and would really recommend getting a haircut here.

I've been getting my hair cut here for around 3 years now, it's a pleasure every time. Excellent service and friendly staff. A great place to get a haircut!

I will be heading there tomorrow for a cut and it's my go-to Barbers in my area. Much more reasonably priced and friendly than the 'hip' Barbers in Portswood which blare out loud, awful music. Be prepared for waiting times at Jane's if you go on a Saturday but the fact they're willing to open on that day for us full-time Mon-Fri workers is just another reason to give them 5 stars, and makes up for any wait. Always have a good chat with the barbers who are attentive and always happy to see you. I don't have kids but the hairdressers here are clearly intent on keeping them/their parents happy, with sweets and chit chat. Don't go to the overpriced competitors in Portswood when this gem is hidden round the corner!

We (me and my 3 yr old Freddie), have been here for his last five haircuts the ladies are extremely professional (as ever) even when Freddie is trying to reduce the place to rubble. I appreciate the drip feed of sweeties that get deployed when their well honed child psychology ploys occasionally fail. Strongly recommend them... best to call ahead if you intend to arrive right at the end of the day, though, as with any small business, you sometimes want to leave a wee bit earlier! I have personally been using Jane's for the last three years and the "see who is busy in town" test will confirm that waiting is worth it.....
