I've had my hair cut by numerous stylists over a number of years here and they provide a great service. My hair is incredibly thick but this never poses an issue. Services can be a little on more expensive side in Southampton but it is worth the cost ... £40 ish for a short men's style cut.

This time was the second time when I had a haircut at Rush Southampton. I am extremely happy with the result, Michael was the one who did it. Absolutely amazing! This will remain always my place to go for a haircut :X I highly recommend this salon and, of course, Michael!!

The salon was well maintained, the stylist was very polite and well presented but I left the salon with the cut that didn't look anything alike the one from the picture that I've brought with me. The finish gave me 60+ granny look when I'm 30 and definitely don't look like granny yet... Definitely will not return, expected much more from senior stylist paying £60.

The salon was well maintained, clean and spacious. The girl who washed my hair after colouring did a fab job. Not really happy with colouring as the colour did spread on my forehead corner all over and little on my ears...I was told it will go away with wipes . For the price I paid I believe that care should be taken more at the head edges and corners while colouring.... also the haircut was very quick.... Finished off 30 mins early than expected for permanent hair colour and cut ...not completely satisfied for the price I paid..

Fixed an appointment for Monday on Saturday evening. The staff member only took my last name and no other details, which I found strange but didn't press further. When I landed up on Monday morning, I was told that the lady who took my appointment (who was also presumably going to cut my hair) was off sick and they wanted to let me know but had no way of contacting me because no number.. Since I was returning to London in 3 hours, their offer of a discounted service wasn't exactly of use to me. That's when Rose entered the fray and said she would be able to squeeze me in between two of her other appointments. As Rose finished with her first client, Nellie took care of my hair wash and gave me a wonderful head massage too! By the time my hair was combed out and prepped for the cut, Rose got done with her client and came over to do my cut. She listened to what I wanted patiently and delivered exactly what I had in mind. I have thick, curly hair and was going from medium length to short and she knew exactly how to handle my hair (most hairstylists in the west simply cannot handle Indian hair, especially the thick curly heads) She also patiently gave me a bouncy curls blow dry, which itself took about 30 mins. She was terribly late for her next client but still did not hurry through my blow dry and did a wonderful job. Thank you Rose! ❤️

I rang today explained my daughter suffers from anxiety and has autism and struggles being in new places especially when they're busy and quite loud. As soon as I said this they offered to do it upstairs so it was just us and the stylist Charlotte , which made things so much easier for her. Charlotte was absolutely amazing and very friendly, patient took her time to make my daughter feel as relaxed as possible and made sure my daughter was happy and comfortable throughout. I would highly recommend Rush for anyone but especially people who suffers with similar conditions. My daughter was so happy with the whole experience but especially how her hair turned out. She went in very quiet and worried. But she relaxed which can be very hard but not only that she even felt comfortable enough by half way that she was speaking and laughed a few times whilst chatting with Charlotte. Honestly I'd give RUSH 10 out of 5 if I could. Thanyou to the team but especially Charlotte we'll be seeing you regularly now!

I booked my appointment on a Friday evening for the next morning, so availability was great. I originally booked with Josh because his reviews were so good, but when I arrived I was told that he wasn't available. Rose introduced herself and said she would be doing my hair instead. She took the time to listen to what I wanted and I showed her a photo of what I liked. She gave her advice on how this would work with my hair, which I appreciated. Overall Rose was brilliant and I'm so pleased with my haircut. She rescued some awful layers I'd had cut in and made my hair look healthy again. She didn't make much small talk which, as a shy person, I appreciated! I was able to get 50% off as a first time customer, which was awesome but the service is definitely worth the full price. The only downer would be that I didn't get the consultant I originally booked with, but I'll book with Rose again in a heartbeat and she gets 5 stars from me.

I have been searching for a great hairdresser for a long time. Was recommended this place by a client of mine. To say that I am happy with the way the staff make you feel so welcome and at home is an understatement. My stylist is Michael and my colourist is Beth, and never before have I felt so listened to about what I want done with my hair...every time I leave...I am so happy with what they have done that I never want to attempt to do my hair myself again. Excellent standard of security against the virus. I felt very safe. Charlotte was brilliant. Went to a lot of trouble to find out exactly what I wanted and the end result couldn't have been better. She gave me a really good cut which I can manage myself. All I ask from a visit to the hairdressers! I have been here twice now and love it - lovely spacious salon, friendly staff and lots of great advice on styling and caring for my hair. I have very thick hair that has a tendency to frizz, but at my most recent appointment the stylist cut and curled my hair so nicely. He gave me advice on which products to use, and was helpful in suggesting that the blunt fringe I've had for a while did not suit my face shape. I appreciate honesty because I have no idea what suits me! Coffee was brought out on a little tray with chocolates - made me feel very welcome! Going back in 8 weeks for another appointment and can't wait.

Stylist did apologise once they came to start the cut though but this didn’t really make up for fact I’d been left there for so long without explanation. This was my first visit and although I booked a follow up as I was paying, on reflection without the 50% off new customer discount I wouldn’t be happy to pay the full price in future on basis of this experience. I recently went and saw Chanelle at RUSH Southampton, and she did a truly AMAZING job from start to finish! I ran my ideas past her, and she advised me on what the styles would look like and ways of achieving the look I really wanted. My consultant is AC at Rush in Southampton Fantastic hairdresser! I first went to him just over a year ago and my hair was bleached, dry and not in good condition at all! Now after taking his advise my hair is longer glossier and feels much healthier! AC is a genius. He styled my hair using clip-in extensions I’d bought to wear to my work Christmas Party and he did an incredible job. I got my hair cut, dyed and curled here about 2 weeks ago by Beth. I had a balayage done on my brunette hair, to a caramel lighter colour. I was treated very well and I left the salon really happy with my hair. However, I noticed that when I went home, and was in normal light, and daylight rather than in the salon, my hair didn't actually look much different, and this was backed up by a few friends saying to me "I thought you were going to have your hair dyed" just an hour after leaving the salon. This was a bit disappointing as when I was in the salon it looked really good. I decided to try my luck and ring Rush again to ask if I could have it made a bit lighter (counting as a re-do). I've never had a re-do before so I wasn't sure what would be allowed, and didn't want to be rude, but the man on the phone assured me that getting the ends done lighter was allowed on the balayage re-do. I asked him to check to make sure and he said yes it was fine, as long as I came back within the week. I wanted him to be sure, as I was coming into the city just for this, and didn't want it to be a wasted journey. If it wasn't fine, I would have just accepted that, and not made the journey. So a few days later, I came back in. However, after about 10 minutes of talking to Beth about wanting it to be lighter towards the ends, she informed me that her manager said this wasn't allowed on the re-do and that it would cost me £85, which I did not want to pay. It is fine that it wasn't allowed, but I was not happy that I'd been told twice on the phone it was, as I had come all the way into the city just to be sent home again. I don't think I will come again, and rather go somewhere closer to home, just in case the person answering the phone and the manager are not coordinated well.

Fine - but not amazing. I think I missed out in comparison to others reviews. I didn't get a head massage, and my friend who went had a fancy drink whereas the one I received was just standard. My hair looks almost the same and I still have lots of split ends. However they were friendly and my hair is quite nice. Just in comparison to other places this is way more expensive and delivers less in experience (I did actually feel a little rushed here). For £60 I could find places with a better experience for about £30-£35. Needless to say I don't think I will be going back as I can't see why it is worth the extra money.

Recently had the most gorgeous ashy blonde balayage put into my hair by the wonderful AC in Rush Southampton. Not only was he a talented hairdresser but I got a incredible amount of advice on how to care for my new platinum tones. He has done my balayage twice now, each time we are making it lighter but my natural hair pigment is quite strong. I couldn’t think of going to anyone else, the technique he uses creates such a beautiful, natural balayage and he politely gives advice and suggestions on cut, colour and style which were all spot on. Minus a star however, as when I went in to have my hair dyed grey, I was not asked if I would be attempting to dye it a certain shade, and so instead ending up with a shade closer to ash than the silver I hoped for.
