I called late on a Friday afternoon, they managed to book me straight in even though I arrived closed to closing time. I showed a picture of what I wanted and James did an incredible job, the trim was exactly what I asked for if not better - see you again soon!

Couldn't ask for better! Had my hair cut by James, first class haircut. Now of course I do that thing we all do when we say it's perfect when it's not but honestly, only twice in my life have I ever had a haircut that I was genuinely pleased with when I walked out of the door, this was the second.

I’ve had my hair cut here for 25 years and I can honestly say, there’s never been a bad one! The staff are friendly, chatty and welcoming and no matter what day, what time or which member of staff - the service is always outstanding and the same can be said for the haircut. Prices are good and there is never too long a wait. A top barbers and so many others would echo these sentiments. I look forward to another 25 years...

I needed to get my hair cut for my wedding the following day in York and the people at Cads were awesome. Amy cut my hair and was very friendly and explained everything she was doing and why. She was really knowledgeable and I felt that she really cared about making sure I got what I wanted. The next day (wedding day)I came in to get my hair styled and Amy did a great job with that too. After my hair was styled I walked to the counter to pay but was told not to worry about it at all. I would recommend Cads to anyone looking for a professional cut at a great price. Two of my friends and my wife's little brothers had their hair cut for the wedding and they all looked great as well. I couldn't be happier. Thanks for making sure my hair looked great on my special day!

I've been going to Cads in Fossgate for over 25 years. Cads simply is the best place to have your hair cut in York. James one of the ownes, who had only just qualified when I started going there has always given a fantastic service. James and his Dad, David really look after the clients and their staff. In fact 4 of the original staff still work there in the 25 years I've been going. I've been taking my 9 year old son since he was 18 months old, and still do a 22 mile round trip to get our hair cuts. This family run business is testament to the amazing independent businesses we have in York.
