Its very rare in life that you find someone who is so knowledgeable and such a master of their craft and yet be so humble and down to earth Martin is such a person. I came down from London after not cutting my hair since lockdown and was reminded why Martin had cut my hair for 3 years previously as a student in Sheffield his ability to cut and style hair as well as his recommendations of products makes him easily the best barber I've ever had and a good friend 😊💈

I paid a visit to Martin this morning to get my beard trimmed, it had been over a year since I last visited a barber as my previous barber moved away and I was left barberless. Following a less than satisfactory visit to a different barber I had sworn off barbers completely, however my fairly lengthy beard was looking quite grizzled and lacking definition. With some mild trepidation I booked in for a beard trim with Martin, and from the minute I walked through his door I felt completely at ease. From taking my coat as I entered, chatting with me about my beard, the shape, the growth, the condition, and the goal, I knew before he even picked up the clippers that my beard was in safe hands. He took his time, removing as little as possible to gain the desired shape and leaving me with a beard that looked fuller, thicker, and more tame than it had done in well over a year. Without doubt the best barber I've used to date, Martin will most definitely be seeing me on a regular basis. Exceptional service, I recommend to all far and wide!

In my 40 years on planet earth, I’ve had my fair share of experience with barbers. In that time, not one single person has impressed me as much as Martin does. He is absolutely a true gentleman and a skilled professional. Unlike some barbers, there is real artistry in his methods. There is no arrogance or pretentiousness. The chat flows freely and within minutes of meeting him, you just know you are in a safe pair of hands. His attention to detail is amazing and his effortless customer service is second to none. It might sound like sensational hyperbole, but it’s true. What makes it even more impressive is that I’m not even sure that Martin is aware of just how good he really is! This was my third haircut and beard trim with this legend. The first two visits resulted in fantastic cuts. The third just edged them, a feat I never thought would be possible. And I’m sure the fourth will equally leave me in delight. Martin really is top drawer and you’d be hard pressed to find a more skilled barber within the North of England. Book him now.

Following a recommendation from my current barber who, rather selfishly in my opinion, moved to Bali, I paid a visit to Mr Young. And unfortunately for my now Bali-based barber he may well have lost a loyal customer and Mr. Young gained one. Excellent serice throughout - from Martin warning me by text of prowling traffic wardens around his premises, which is residential, long before my appointment time, to the final mirror reveal. Martin is a very skilled practitioner who has pitched everything about the experience perfectly.

Visited Mr Young this morning, first time experience and in a truly wonderful setting of a well kept Victorian terrace. Covid-19 safety protocol all in place yet this didn't detract from the warm welcome and friendly ambience. I needed a smarten up for fresh interviews yet still sported post hair. So from an overgrown mop was teased just the haircut I wished for and am used to, demonstrating great skill and the understanding of a listening ear. Care was to the fore and good advice too, I couldn't have asked for better service. Thank you!
