Came into this lovely shop for an infill appointment for acrylics, as I have just moved here I was a bit skeptic about where to go for my nails. It was super easy to book online via their website and choose to add a simple design and so on. I came in and was greeted by Lucy she made me feel so welcome I showed her the design I liked and she gave the best advice on what would look best with nail shape. She spent so much time making them perfect and the other girls were so friendly and amazing too. I’m so happy with the nails! Would defo recommend💜

Yami was great to talk too, and great fun. However her COVID safety wasn't up to scratch and I didn't get the nails I truly desired. She was okay for last-minute at Christmas, but I won't be going again.

The ladies at Velvet Nails are absolutely fantastic. The quality of their nails is second to none, great value and a lovely atmosphere. Sadly when I was there today I witnessed a lady who seemed to be trying to get a set of acrylic nails for free by making up fake complaints, and become extremely abusive towards this amazing team. Despite the fact she was incredibly rude and screaming at them, hysterically tearing her nails from her hands like a mad woman, they remained kind and professional. I have been going to Velvet Nails for years and have always been impressed, but today they impressed me even more by how they behaved under awful circumstances. I hope that they contact the police about the client whose meltdown was fortunately captured on cc TV. Usually all of their clients are as nice as they are though so definitely go and check our Velvet Nails! I have referred many friends and family there and will again.

Absolutely beautiful nails and lovely service - I'm quite an anxious person so was very nervous but super friendly and was immediately at ease! Ridiculously pleased with my nails. Very happy with the end result - technique and skill were super good! Can't wait to go back :)

Visited Velvet before lockdown, best manicure I have ever had, lasted well, all ladies are so friendly. Cant wait to go back when they are open again! So much better than the turn up and wait salons, you can book an appointment so no sitting around, and products look great and last! Issy nail art is amazing. 5 stars!

Never had my nails done before, just got a file and polish but was a great experience! Took my friend there as a birthday treat and she got the most lovely gel mani done!! Really lovely all round!

I went in asking for a full set of acryllic nails. Jami did them and never in my life has it taken so long to have my nails done. I would expect 45 mins to an hour but it took 2 and a half hours for them to apply and paint my nails. This would be acceptable if the nails were sturdy and of good quality. However, not even 2 weeks after this appointment, 4 of the nails have fallen off and I have not done anything out of the ordinary to produce this result. I repeatedly reminded them that I had paid for a limited amount of parking at Morrison's and because of the ridiculous amount of time it took, I got a parking ticket so essentially paid double for the nails that were not even of great quality. Very disappointed as the ladies that work there are lovely, just take ages to do their job!!

Yami done my nails perfectly!! Got exactly what I asked for. This was my first time going to Velvet and I felt so comfortable there. They had an awful customer who was so, so rude as I was getting my nails done, who refused to pay for her manicure! But the girls were so good and didn’t deserve the backlash they got and they handled it so well. Everyone wore masks the entire time and everything was cleaned so feel reassured by this! Would 100% recommend and go again! Thank you 💓

Absolute perfection!!! I've been to many salons, most unwelcoming and unhygienic. I always get a full set of acrylics and these are the best I've ever had. They are such perfectionists and listen to exactly what you want them to look like. I came in for a infill from a previous salon and they were thick and long and I've left with light nails that feel and look so natural! The staff at Velvet nails were so friendly and warm. We were chatting and laughing. Its such a lovely little salon and so clean. I will be returning and make this my go to nail place 100%

Normally I hate spending my evenings after work having to get my nails done as I can't wait to get home, but here it is like you have known the ladies all your life and i will look forward to getting them done again! I had a great experience. I have been to several nail salons recently. This was by far the best service I have received in the the Brighton and Hove area. I agree with the other reviews; the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the place is clean and comfortable, the option of polish colours is vast. I was very impressed and I'm definitely going back. Recently moved to Brighton and needed somewhere new to get my nails done, I’m so pleased I found somewhere perfect on my first try! The girls are all so polite and friendly and they did a brilliant job on my nails. Real perfectionists! See you soon thank you xx

Disappointing. I had booked a luxury manicure for myself and my daughter as a Christmas present but my manicure felt very rushed with not much attention to detail, definitely lacking in luxury! Also I was charged an extra £5 each for white tips which wasn’t mentioned when we asked for them, and there was only one pot of white polish available which the manicurists had to share.

Absolutely wonderful service. I had gels done with nail art and it was beautifully executed.... I’ve had tons of compliments on them.The staff are incredibly professional and the equipment is immaculate. I’m now a loyal customer to them and them alone.
