J. T.Fantastically friendly team who will bend over backwards to make every customer feel special and gorgeous. The vibe is stylish but not over-styled, glamourous but not intimidating. No Hinching here, the salon is full of colour and sparkle. I've had great cuts and colour here and have no doubt that every treatment offered will be fabulous.
On top of that, the salon went miles above and beyond during the worst of the pandemic, supporting the community and travellers by offering testing at all hours.
T. H.I just happened to come across this salon searching for travel covid test clinics in the area. What a beautifully efficient run business this is.
I booked all our travel covid tests with them (8 in total) and they made the whole process so hassle free, they take all the pressure off and was extremely helpful with guiding me into which test we needed. In actual fact I felt like I was driving them mad but not once did they give me that impression, they are only too happy to help. It's no problem at all if you need to change the appointment the online system is fantastic so straight forward, you can amend online.
Two of our tests had to change last minute and had to be done on a Monday, even this wasn't a problem the lady came in (I'm so sorry don't know your name) especially for our tests really wonderful client service, thank you! Honestly such a great run business absolutely love it and a beautiful quaint covid clinic to the side of the building just lovely and feels very safe.
We are travelling again soon and without any hesitation I will be booking here again. Thank you for making this very stressful process no stress at all for us. The Hall Family x

My family and I was travelling to Poland unaware we also needed an rapid antigen test 4 hours before our trip, we arrived for the night ferry and was given the details to get in touch to see if we was able to have an early test to make the 9am ferry. The lady called us at 5.30 in the morning! We made the ferry such a legend.

What makes me incredibly embarrassed and ashamed is I've forgotten the name of the wonderful lady who runs this establishment! (Sorry!)
I needed 2x COVID tests urgently before my ferry left Harwich Port. Not only did i arrive far too early but after texting E (director is called elizabeth on companies house so am assuming) she got out of bed, drove to the shop and opened up specially for me - all before the sun had even risen! Not only was she incredibly welcoming but I felt as if she genuinely cared that I got to my final destination on time. I've had a total of 9 COVID tests over the last fortnight and I can't say they're a pleasant thing to endure but my ones taken at the Ministry of Hair and Beauty were certainly the easiest and most comfortable. Instantly you could tell she was a hair dresser/beautician as the general chat put you as ease even when only stood in the doorway getting tested! So friendly and put me in a good mood for days.
I had a few issues with my travel arrangements yet nothing was too much for E, even offering to do an 'out of hours' test kit to ensure I got my result so I was able to board the ferry/eurotunnel. For someone to go so far above and beyond for a total stranger makes me feel like there's hope for us all in the world. Due to her nature, kindness and efforts I want to return the good will and help someone myself - not sure when the opportunity will arise.
I'm originally from the Midlands but have been living in Wales/Cumbria. It's a 4hr drive to Colchester from both of these locations but I'm going to try and have my hair cut with her when I'm next in the UK as I'm sure it'll be worth it.
To conclude. If you're in Colchester and you're looking for a good Hair and Beauty Technician look no further. As although there is no doubt some 'cheaper' or with flashier signs/slogans you have to remember WHY you go to a salon - it's the experience. I did not experience any of her hair and beauty treatments but I did get the personal experience - one which is worth more than a few quid. Not only have I experienced her true value but I always like to spend my hard earned money on GOOD people and support LOCAL business'. I hope to return soon after covid times and thank her myself, in person.
