M. K.Got my haircut and styled by a L3 student. It was absolutely perfect and beautiful! Even though it took 4 hours, I had a nice time there. Highly recommend it.
I.Great for the price. Atmosphere is very nice in the waiting area but sometimes the treatment rooms are a bit cold. Students are mostly really good and when you get the occasional one who's a bit hesitant or nervous it's understandable- they're still learning! Would highly recommend having a treatment or two and going for lunch or dinner in the Chefs Academy. Lovely views.
N. S.I have been coming to The Retreat for years and really enjoy it. I mostly enjoy facials and massage treatments, which are fab. Occasionally I also have time to eat at the Chef's Academy - always a treat!
What I love is that as a customer you're getting often high quality and professional services for a much lower price. You're also contributing in an important way to the students' training, as they learn to provide a professional service and feedback is encouraged.
It's a brilliant initiative that everyone benefits from. Well done Newcastle College!

G.An amazing place to get a treatment or haircut/style, there's also a gym, the gym is quite small but it's also well equipped, and if you're a student you can join the gym for £9.90 a month, which is cracking value. Due to the fact that this is a college, your service will be at a reduced value, men can get their mops' chopped for £2 for example, but you needn't worry about the quality, every student is monitored by more than qualified supervision at all times. This place is a hidden gem in the city.
