Have just had a wonderful experience at Strand, Sally did my hair and after discussing what I wanted gave me the best hair cut I have had in years, she was friendly and very talented, Celina did my eyebrow thread and tint aswel as a manicure, she was lovely and always checked I was happy before moving on, I have not been before but will certainly make this my first choice from now on!!

DO NOT GO IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST WAXING SESSION. Tl:dr - - Overall, I had my legs waxed. The product itself was as to be expected, if not very rushed. I personally have a lot of ingrown hairs so there are some hairs left on my legs, but there are a few patches where she didn't go over with more wax. I got £25 worth of a waxing session. For a salon in the middle of town, it was decent. But don't go if its your first session, you want a relaxing, good session, go elsewhere. Long review: This was an interesting experience. I'm not a regular waxer and haven't had the time to find a decent salon in Oxford that isn't several bus rides away. The salon looks decent, generally. No hair on the floor, bins for nails and strips etc.. But it is very clearly understaffed, the few staff they have don't answer the phone until someone shouts out "phone please". The 'room' (if you can call it that) is very small and dinghy. A small sliding door gives the illusion of privacy yet there is a mirror exactly placed so the person on the other side of the door can see the person on the bed. The bed is potentially dangerous for a obese person. Doesn't feel very stable. In reference to my beginning statement, I would not recommend this place for someone looking for their first wax. It will turn you off. Go somewhere that has designated rooms where the worker can walk around you and doesn't lean right over your thighs to do a bikini wax. I've had my legs and bikini line waxed before and know what to do afterwards and how to clean up the leftover wax (on my bikini line which now really hurts!!!) The aftercare is non existent - I had a "done! Thank you bye!" as the alert that she'd done. She didn't utter a word throughout the sessions except to talk to other members of staff through a door no thicker than a hand. It was a wax. Nothing amazing but not horrible. I've had better but I'm sure there's been worse done.

I've always come here to have my eyebrows threaded and tinted and have used Strand for at least the last five years. They always do an excellent job, would definitely recommend. I always see Celina and she's Brilliant. She always double checks everything is as I want and is meticulous with detail. 👍🏻

Got a full set of acrylics and absolutely love them. Selma was so lovely and professional, did such a great job. Exactly the shape and colour I wanted, and had so much fun in the salon. Everyone was friendly and helpful and Strand is clean and well-presented. I booked the appointment the day before and came slightly late, but they were flexible and welcoming and it wasn't a problem. Selma even gave me diamante on my ring finger as a birthday present! Would absolutely recommend Strand nails.

Popped in yesterday to have facial threading and acrylic nails redone. Threading lady was very smiley and gentle! I had the lovely salma who attended to my nails. She was very patient with my and my mums indicisiveness when it came to choosing the colour, and even suggested a few of her own (which we ended up going with). All staff are very kind and friendly and chatty making the experience comfortable and enjoyable.. As it should be! Thanks guys. Will be making a trip down from Bristol again soon.

Time and time again I am thrilled with my experience at Strand. I regularly come here to get my nails done and eyebrows threaded. I've enjoyed nothing but quality service and outcomes that last at a great price. I also adore the staff. They are incredibly hospitable (I should mention that they offered me Prosecco more than once) and treated me like a good friend since my first visit.

Just had an amazing experience at Strand. I was served by a lovely polish nail technician. Sometimes getting your nails done can be slightly awkward experience, however this talented young lady made the whole experience relaxing and pleasurable! Would 100% recommend and will be back myself. I could not be happier with the work she did. Thank you!

This the first hairdresser I tried in Oxford as it was most reasonable on prices, since then (year) I regularly come back to get my hair cut here. They do an amazing job no matter who cuts your hair! They are very critical and offered consultation on the styling of my hair without any added costs. They’re also very accommodating on walk in as I haven’t really booked at all for my haircuts. Most recently, I have had my hair bleached and dyed grey here and they blew my mind!! They managed to achieve the most ideal colour with blends of blonde and grey intertwined. Both me and them were wowed together, I had to come back the next day to touch up a few things but other than that it’s been fantastic! Again, this was a walk in. I also paid half the price I was expecting to pay! Saleem did the hair colouring and most of my cuts. It’s a very friendly atmosphere with lovely staff! Definitely recommend this place!

Ali who did my hair today was absolutely amazing, she did exactly what i wanted, helped me feel calm seeing i was having hair from mid way back cut off too collar bones scary and i trusted her so much. the staff are all friendly and welcoming. I went to Strand to do my nails, it was perfect. My nails were done really well and the staff were very friendly, I am not sure why some people are negative about this place. I have come here several times for nails, threading, waxing, facial and hair colour and cut, it has always been perfect and a great experience. For sure I will keep coming back, also the location is great!

The salon “strand” in oxford is a fantastic place to get your nails done, they are very nice people, my friend and I got our nails done by two VERY nice girls named Salmi and Handi. This is a place we can high recommend. We had a nice conversation and were done after an hour ☺️

I have been coming here for about 18 months. My hair is always cut by Salim who consistently does an excellent job. He has his own suggestions for what will best suit your hair and face etc, and I am always very happy. Would definitely recommend.

I always go to a lovely lady called Sadia who is great at cutting my hair, always very friendly and professional and goes out of her way to make me feel comfortable! She isn't like other hair dressers who dictate to you what should be done to your hair but rather listens to what I want and then gives me her professional opinion on what I should do to maintain my healthy long hair. I would definitely recommend booking an appointment with her any time and I will continue to use her for my hair cuts!!!

After staying with my trusty hair dresser for years in Milton Keynes (even though I live in Oxford), I recently thought to try STRAND as the price is good. Saleem has since TRANSFORMED my long, dark and thick hair from being flat and lifeless to medium length, bouncy with layers and now has VOLUME and looks full of life! :) This is what I had envisaged and I am always very HAPPY with the outcome :) I ENJOY going back there and aim to have Saleem colour it and try out new colours every so often which perhaps I didn't think of trying before! :) again at such a GOOD PRICE. Saleem and the other members of staff are GREAT FUN and chatty to the right extend. Definitely recommend and also LADIES, try the pedicures, massages and manicures! This place has definitely changed me from doing none of this to doing all of these things monthly!! Thanks guys and see you soon! :)
