During my 2 years of tenancy in Cardiff, I have always had a great experience with Evans Cycles. On the latest occasion, went in to ask for empty bike boxes and within a few minutes, we had the boxes ready for us to take away. There is also a coffee machine now in the store, which is a lovely addition for those whose bike only needs a quick fix and wish to wait in the shop. As someone who has visited other bike shops in the city, I would definitely recommend this most.

Credit where it's due, my dealings with Evans Cycles in Cardiff have been excellent. I had a warranty issue with a bike I purchased online from Evans. I dealt with Jack at the store who was extremely helpful. He took ownership of the situation and kept me updated throughout. I also spoke to a few other staff at the store and they were all helpful too.

Fantastic place with fabulous people!!! I have been to this shop a couple of times to purchase various necessities. I would recommend this bike shop to everyone for it is a highly beautiful and appealing place with very interested staff, who are eager to help you with whatever you need. The minute you enter the shop you find yourself in a very well taken care of place with an engaging and interesting ambiance that captures your interest and pleases your eyes. The air inside is quite cool and fresh. You will find a quiet and calming atmosphere there . However, the best merit of this shop lies in its interested and helpful staff who are more than happy to give you a hand if you don’t know what to do. Many times, I entered the shop and asked what I needed after describing the problem I have with my bike, and they not only gave me what I needed but also described how to fix the problem. They are also quite benevolent and nice people who care greatly about customer satisfaction. Once, I wanted to buy bearings, it would be 18 for £3. The staff member gave me 5 extra which increased the number to 23 in case I lost some of them. As a result, I sincerely and greatly recommend this shop with excellent staff member and an awesome ambiance.

Just picked my bike up which I dropped off yesterday morning. Needed replacement spokes and the brakes needed aligning/tightening. Very happy with the service and the advice given to me when I picked the bike up. Evans have just gained a new customer 👍🏻

Decent prices on bikes, in a pretty good location for Cardiff. I wouldn't trust them to assemble a bike though. Bought both our bikes from here, the wife's bike has had major front derailleur issues that were never resolved by the shop after about 5 visits. For my own bike I only discovered recently that the one gear cable was fitting too short so that its been rubbing away on the frame to the point where the cable is now frayed and had to be replaced. Fine to buy from but make sure you don't make my mistake and check the bike over yourself before riding.

Was out for the day on my bike and got a puncture. Luckily I was in walking distance of Evan's Cycles. They repaired the puncture for me there and then so I could cycle home. Staff were really helpful and friendly too.

I had a good experience with these guys. Went in and bought a Norco Fluid and they were able to supply straight away. I literally rode away. It was a pricey bike also do I didnt think they would have it in stock in the correct size. But they did. Very quick. Did a final bike check. Spot on. Thanks, I'll be back in few months for change.

I had a problem with a badly creaking crankset/bottom bracket while touring in S.Wales .Jack in bike maintenance was polite and accommodating and did all the right things given the time constraints with positive result so 5 stars for his efforts and service. However consistent with some other reviews I did get the impression that some members of the team just did not want to be there which is fair enough but if that is the case you still have to give the impression that you are happy to see the customers and not make it as obvious. I have kept the 5 star rating as it was a Sunday and I am sure they would have rather been out on their bikes . Once again thank you to Jack in bike maintenance .

I thought the service provided by Mr Elliot.G today was absolutely outstanding. I came into the store this morning with a bike that was badly in need of repair. Bike brakes needed looking at, they were unable to fit me in until later in the week which I couldn't wait for. Helpful guy showed me what parts I needed to buy for the bike (which they had in stock) and also loosened a couple of rusty allen bolts for me. This allowed me to fix my bike myself and saved a lot of time waiting! Excellent service, thanks!

Great service from start to finish when buying a bike through Cyclescheme at work. Guys always helpful and friendly. Just took bike back for first service (plus a few spokes following a close encounter with the ground!), No problem and will get it sorted by the weekend. Evans cycles offers a good all round range of bikes. I was looking for a new helmet and roughly knew what I was after. I found the one I wanted easily enough with reasonable price! They only had one in stock which was a display item me being fussy I wanted a new one 😊 the sales assistant ordered me one in to store no problem the next day. Although this store won’t have full range of items they sale on stock there is a vast range on their website which can be ordered in easily enough. This store is located underneath the NCP car park so is store they offer a ticket for 2 hours free parking!

I was unlucky enough to get a puncture whilst out delivering on my bike. It occurred just after Evans Cycles had closed but I managed to catch the staff just as they were leaving. Great! Needed a tyre, read reviews out of curiosity saw they were a bit low and thought it was unfair, any time I had been in previously was good. Went down yesterday, young lady was very helpful with the price match, ended up buying 2 tyres. Very pleased with the service and how polite the cashier was. Many thanks to Evans and the lady!

On the most part my experience here was good, they have a great price match scheme which saved me money on my new frame and they fitted my new groupset free of charge. Staff are a bit few and far between and they will rarely answer the phone but I WOULD buy another bike from Evans and that is all that really matters.

Bought a new bike and bits and pieces. 3hr round trip by car. No question when I want anything bike related, I'll be back. Encounter with first member of staff I met was a bit odd though and didn't bode well. He was putting ear buds in as I approached and tried to skirt passed me. Mmmm. Excuse me, can you help. Long pause with incoming direct eye contact. 'You'll have to find someone else, I'm going on my break'. Headed off to the maintenance section as I couldn't find anyone else! James T happily stepped up to the plate. Couldn't have been more helpful, or cheery for that matter. Total breath of fresh air and really knows what he's talking about. So glad I ordered in both the L and XL bike to test ride. I'm 6'1", so either will work, but surprised to find the XL was the better ride for me. Thanks James T, much appreciated. Mark

Lets get this straight, they may not have a great knowledge in store but there customer service policy is about as good as it gets, they really make it easy to buy, return and sort fault out and a great easy price match so thats where i shop Yes i cant deny that. I find that advice in most bike shops has a differing opinion and it just confuses me. I just find Evans returns policy really easy unlike the rest. Can win them all.

The staff were excellent and informed and talked me through my options, I actually found the same bike slightly cheaper online after buying and was offered a further reduction. The bike was set up for me at the time of pick up and as part of the package the bike get a 6 week check up.

Friendly staff who are very approachable, mechanics seem to know there stuff though I've never had a bike serviced there (as I do it myself). Will price match any other competitor (online or in store) so if you need a specific item and they stock it go to them!

Ok for buying a new bike, but avoid their repair service. Consistently not done when promised, dodge their warrantee obligations, and on one occasion my rear brake was not reassembled correctly leading to a potentially dangerous situation. Only come here for repairs if you think you're still in warrantee (but good luck with that). Most independent shops will have far better repair services.

I went into Evans yesterday because I want to change my bike. I didn't buy anything but will probably return for my purchase because the lady who served me was very knowledgeable and helpful, going out of her way to find out how I could add dynamo lights to a new bike.

TOP NOTCH! My girlfriend and I are VERY happy with the cheerful service, received both by myself who has been road cycling for five years, and my girlfriend who has now been cycling for five days. She loves her new bike and they've been very helpful with my problematic old one. Tip - Go in when it's quiet, and don't expect one on one service at peak time on a Saturday when customers are clambering over each other for assistance.

Whilst in town yesterday I had the misfortune to sustain a puncture in my granddaughters pushchair wheel. I went to Evans Cycles and they were brilliant. The service at Evans in Cardiff gets better the more you buy and the more regularly you visit the shop. It's not surprising then that some staff are now on full sit up and take notice alert mode when I show up. But it certainly has not always been that way. Recently, I've been haunting the place ahead of taking delivery of a new BMC Road Machine. At the Cardiff branch, the workshop staff are the best people to talk to if you have a technical query about any of their hardware. To a man, they have been polite and professional. To my mind they are the best salespeople the company has as their opinions are backed up by the hard evidence of having to work on the products they sell. If you are a new customer my advice is to always ask for help because if you waited for someone to approach you on the sales floor you would be waiting a very long time.

Great Evans Cycle shop within the centre of Cardiff. Don't be put off with the location of the store, as I only found out today that you can park in the NCP car park above for free up to 2 hours which is fantastic. The staff where very helpful and seemed like they wanted to engage with their customers instead of some other bike shops who just dont care (Tredz) Had a great deal where I spent over £100 and got £20 voucher, A very well stocked shop and yet again not like other shops (Tredz). This is the first time I have purchased something from here and I loved it! Bought an Endura MTR Emergency Jacket and an Osprey Raptor 14 Hydration Pack!

We were in Cardiff for the Speedway gp on Saturday.we were parked under the stadium as we have a disabled son. We got his wheelchair out only to told it had a puncture in one tyre. We asked the security guard if he knew a cycle shop that could fix it and he directed us to Evans. Upon entering we were told to see the men in the workshop. One of them immediately stopped doing a repair and set to fix the tyre. Although my son can walk a little he gets tired and needs his chair so they saved the day for us. Many thanks to fifty, I think that was what he was called!!

Independent bike store prices from a chain retailer. Little to no service, I wasn't approached once while in the store for 20 minutes although the guy working the checkout was friendly and helpful. Good range of products. Better to shop online for lower prices or use your local independent for better service.
