I brought a bike with John in the Colchester branch last week and the service that we received from him was absolutely incredible! He was so knowledgeable about the bikes he was showing me (as well as about my previous bike I brought into be serviced that is over 10 years old!) and was so helpful. I have a back injury and John was brilliant in advising what alterations could be made to a bike to make it more suited to my needs so I am not in pain. My new bike was ordered in with the additional parts we added on and after a test cycle to make sure that the bike was definitely for me John was able to make an alteration in store to help the comfort of the ride. I’d highly recommend the store and especially John as he made the experience of buying a bike such an easy and comfortable experience. And I love my bike!

Called in last weekend and despite being short staffed Chris took the time to carefully discuss the Haibike we wished to purchase for my wife. We had a test drive and, due to the bike being on the cusp of the right size, he organised a smaller size from their warehouse for today. On our return John dealt politely and efficiently with the sale and and sent us away happy with the purchase which, incidentally, was cheaper for the bike than we could find anywhere else online or not.

In these Covid times where e-mountain bikes are a rare stock item, this dealer had a good selection at the Colchester branch and I was lucky for them to have the model I wanted in my size. They also stock a good range of clothing and accessories. The bike was built and ready for me in two days. Adam and John had a good knowledge of bikes and on collection the bike was set up for my size and weight. I did not feel hurried and John made sure I was aware of all the bike functions. Ordered a new bike (Cube Editor) from Cycle Revolution and the experience from start to finish was excellent. My experience with them delivering me my Specialized Sirrus 2.0 has been perfect. Very cooperative ,even send you pictures and details of how and what they are packing in the delivery box before the delivery. The delivery was fast. Just one little thing that I didn't like was , the APC delivery company doesn't let you choose the time or date of the delivery , They deliver it really fast but I got the delivery on the day I wasn't expecting it and so I was at work and I had to ask them to leave the box inside my apartment building in front of the door of my room. Other than that I just wanna say thanks to Cycle revolution for packing and building my bike with so much care , it's been running flawlessly since it was delivered few weeks ago.

I ordered a bike on-line, Wednesday 11.30. I received updates throughout, they emailed photos of the bike and information on how the bike would be delivered. The bike arrived 2 days later fully protected from any damage. Brilliant service and pleasure to deal with. We ordered a Trek Marlin 5 for my son's Birthday which arrived well packaged and within 3 days of the order. Unfortunately on his first afternoon of riding the chain came off the front chain ring and got caught in the frame causing a lot of damage to paint work. I called and spoke to John who dealt with it promptly. I was surprised that with no challenge that the immediate response was one of apology and effort to find an immediate replacement (not easy with bike shortage). John arranged for collection of the damaged bike and a replacement arrived within 48 hours. It was genuinely a please dealing with Cycle Revolution and nice to experience first class customer service. I would have no doubt whatsoever in returning to Cycle Revolution next summer when my wife is due an upgrade. Thanks again for the great service and fast replacement.

Purchased a liv ebike from the Norwich store and service was excellent. Website clear and secure. Once order placed, comms was excellent. I was also wanting mudguards and Jake in store even took photos and emailed them to see how both options looked on the bike. I had been looking for Clark's M3 brake sets for a while. The Cycle Revolution website said they had stock so I placed an order. The next day I received an email from Cycle Revolution that said they had experienced a 'stock error' and actually didn't have any brake sets. They quickly refunded my payment. I cannot fault their customer service, but I'm as extreamly disappointed they could not fulfil my order. Managing stock levels is essential to a well run business and I would say in all other areas this is a well run business.

Many thanks to the staff at Cycle Revolution from Christine and Martyn. After many hours of web research we narrowed it down to two bikes, they were both advertised as in stock in Cambridge, but when we got there they had neither, 100 miles wasted, should have stayed local. Called in at Cycle Revolution Colchester and they had a men’s Giant Entour E+2 ebike built up and in the showroom which was one of the two bikes we had in mind. I arranged to have a test ride and after a couple of runs up and down the quiet street my mind was made up, I just needed to make Christine happy now as an electric bike made her nervous. They built a small, which is the size they said would be the one, and a medium just in case for Chris to test ride, John adjusted the seat and the handlebars to get Chris comfortable and she was off, a couple of minutes later a very happy face returned even after such a short ride. The deal was done and we arranged a date to collect them, both bikes had been fully checked over and charged up ready for us to ride away. We had both said we didn’t enjoy cycling like we once did but even after a couple of rides on these new bikes we love it again. Once again, a big thanks to all the lads, I thinks we dealt with them all on our many visits, they helped in every way possible and we wouldn’t dream of looking elsewhere now if we want any accessories for the bikes.

Can not fault the service. Ordered some new tyres for my sons bike mid Wednesday and they arrived Thursday morning quicker than expected and the delivery charge was minimal considering the size of the package. Will certainly be using again in the future.

I have previously bought my MTB's from Halfords, going for entry-level bikes (c. £300). However, I bought a more expensive one from Cycle Revolution, and am really glad I did. Worth paying a bit more for a bike (£550), as gears, brakes and ride experience are much better. Cycle Revolution also offer free checks for 2 years, which is much better than Halfords who only offer a 6 week check. My new bike was ready 3 days after ordering (although there was a mix-up in the process, which was rectified satisfactorily and without quibble). Overall, a very happy customer, would definitely recommend.

Excellent service from start to finish. Firstly, the shop has great stock at a time when quality road bikes are hard to come by due to Brexit and Covid related supply issues. I wanted to buy a Trek Emonda SL6 and, unlike almost anywhere else in the country, Cycle Evolution had sizes 54 and 56 SL 6 Pros available. As I am in between sizes (5'10 with 31.0 inch inseam), this was reassuring. I traveled from my home in West London to the shop, which is a stylish showroom replete with beautiful machines. I was served by Dano and Stef who both advised me from the outset that the size 56 would be the best fit. After a test ride, I was able to purchase the size 56 with 0% finance payable over 24 months through a simple online credit check performed in store. I received a 15% discount on pedals and integrated Bontrager lights which were installed in store. Stef cleaned the chain in solvent and a applied a first application of wax lube in store. 10 days' free bike insurance was included with the sale. After riding a short distance, I began to have concerns about fit (standover is relatively high and reach is long compared to my old road bike - a Triban RC500). Given the (Rolls Royce) service at Cycle Evolution, though, I was put at ease through superb after sale care. Firstly, the shop offered to replace the seat cap mast for a smaller mast for no charge. The shop also offered to replace the bike for the size 54 should I wish to, provided I returned the 56 in showroom condition. The staff were available to speak on the phone and responsive to emails. To ensure beyond any doubt I had made the right decision re bike size, I booked an appointment for a bike fit in London. (Unfortunately, Cycle Evolution's in-house bike fit service is currently unavailable.) I called Trek and spoke to their customer service. The advice I received from Trek and the bike fit specialist corroborated the advice I had been given by Cycle Evolution. The 56 was the right fit for me; Stef and Dano were correct and my own misgivings were misplaced. I returned to the store today where the seat mast cap was replaced without fuss or delay. I will definitely look to shop at Cycle Evolution again, and would travel from London to do so. It's an excellent bike shop.

We are returning customers. My daughter got her bicycle from here and last month we returned to get one for my son. The service we got for my daughter was good, that for my son was even better (the four stars reflects that, but please note we returned to even better service). The person we dealt with knew a lot and was able to explain things in English, not in jargon. I would recommend this place to others, and do not be intimidated if you do not know much about bicycles.

Thanks to the lovely staff at cycle Revoultion. I ordered a Liv thrive e bike. I have had a knee replacement I’m only 48 and missed cycling so much. John recommended an ebike . The guys got me a bike from the Norwich store set it up beautifully nothing was too much trouble. The bike is just wonderful I glide up the hills I am looking forward to some great rides. I'm a frequent, long time customer of this company and will only use Cycle Revolution for any and all bikes and parts that I need. The customer service I have received has always been top notch. They explain what I need or what problems I may have with my bike in plain understandable language and get me in the parts that I need as soon as they are able to ( what with brexit and Covid slowing everything down, they still do sterling work) and they aren't in the habit of pushing you into spending more than your budget like some other colchester bike retailers I've had the misfortune of dealing with over the years when necessity has dictacted. On entry to the store they always greet me curteously, the store is extremely covid aware/protected but more importantly they always get done what needs to be done to my bike even if it is an inconvenience to their workshop schedule (sorry fellas!) Yes, it may not be the cheapest shop in the world for bike parts but if you want quality you have to pay. If you want cheap c**p go to Halfords.If you want quality, shop here. Even when there is a rare instance of parts not performing as they should Adam, Joe and the rest of the mechanics will bend over backwards to help get the issue resolved and if you want help to buy anything from a tool to a multiple thousand pound dream bike, Del,John, Dan and the rest are there to help and they all know their stuff. I work in customer facing retail myself and would be more than happy to have any of them on my own staff. To the Store Manager, I purchased a Trek Roscoe 7 & several accessories from your store yesterday & feel compelled to write to you detailing my visit. Prior to my visit, I had been to 3 other cycle shops in Chelmsford having decided on the spec/bike I was looking for, Cycle Revolution (in Chelmsford) checked their system & told me you had one in stock. I took a chance & drove over with my partner & 2 young children to your store. I was met & served by William who told me it was only his 4th day but as a customer, I would never have known. He was so passionate about his job which made a massive difference to my buying experience in that he had great product knowledge & was so helpful. He highlighted the 15% store discount on accessories which certainly made me add a few bits on! I didn’t get your mechanic’s name who built my bike (*it was Adam) there & then (in much less time than quoted) plus he also fitted the pedals, grips & cages that William help to spec for me. I can’t thank William & your team as a whole for my experience- we were all made to feel so welcome & even during Covid, it was an absolute pleasure to visit your store. I had been looking for a bike for myself and my partner and a number of local shops were unhelpful and rude. This was not the case at cycle revolution, they were Amazing. Helped fit the size of the bikes perfectly, nothing was too much trouble. On the day I went to pick my bike up, I was caught in 3 hours of traffic on the M25. This is a premium cycle shop, i am an enthusiast and cringe at the heavy steel bikes sold cheaply by many places which are slow and hard to ride and end up being dumped after little use as they rust up quickly. So out of many bike shops i pop into, far and wide, this shop is probably my favourite for the quality. A fantastic range of proper quality bikes in decent price ranges. Paul has always been helpful and been running the shop a long time so better that than maybe visiting another shop with staff with limited knowledge. A good bike to ride any distance on, is going to set you back at least £350-£400 and its important to get the right one so I always advise people if they want a decent bike that will last and get fit on, not just one that looks nice, to go here.

We rang up and spoke to Dell, who couldnt of been more helpful, was a really nice chap and advised us well and spent a good while talking through our options and suggesting a small adult bike rather than a kids one. Despite the current climate my new bike was delivered in less than a week and I even recieved an email with a video of the delivery of bikes to the shop. This was my first time ordering a bike online for home delivery so was a little aprehensive but I am very pleased with the simple process and overall great service!

It's about making a customer feel welcome. Although this shop and it's partner shop are well stocked and have decent products, it misses the mark in the feel of the store. Staff are friendly, but because they have to be. It feels a little forced and it makes you feel unwelcome. You're immediately judged and it's uncomfortable and creates a bit of an atmosphere. Prices are high, and you're always told to use your local bike shop, but online prices are often half to items here. That's not an incentive to shop in your LBS. As the only real bike shop in Colchester, they may have the monopoly, but I'd always remember that customer service is priority. If another opened they would struggle without that friendly and judgemental element.

Great service from the guys at Cycle Revolution. Took my ebike in for its first annual service, and was helped by Andy and Shaun . Both guys were really helpful and knowledgeable, they took the time to explain to me what was needed and the costs associated. My bike had developed an annoying noise from the motor, which they diagnosed quickly and fixed under the warranty. Great service all round, will definitely be back!!

The Colchester shop has a huge range of bikes, including many e-bikes. Staff members, especially John, were both knowledgeable and helpful, enabling me to make the right choice of bike and accessories. Nothing was too much trouble. Dropped off my 1995 Trek 930 last Friday and collected it today. Staff are professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I believe that the work I asked for was negotiated to suit my budget. Looking at previous comments: 1) labour charge appears to be £40 per hour. Not unreasonable IMO. I paid £70 per hour 20 years ago for Harley-Davidson work! 2) Until just now, I was unaware of disability "issue". Certainly, today _I_ was offered assistance to load into car (which I declined). I would use these guys again as/when appropriate.
