Reviews of Great Northern Greenway
E. B.
First time ever, that we took this route. Drove past it for many years and kept promising myself I'd walk it. Although it does actually span 350 miles right upto Berwick on Tweed (don't think I'll be walking that far). Wish we'd have set off earlier and got to Etwall so we could nip in at the Seven Wells for a cheeky one, all be it there is the Great Northern on the way back that do a gorgeous hot chocolate Xx Can't wait to do it again Xx

A lovely walk, free parking at the Station Road end. Flat, good width, leads to Etwall where you can have refreshments in pubs . I gave it only 3 stars due to the number of dogpoo bags left in the under growth, and also the number of cyclists who don't give any bell warning when coming up behind you, some very fast.

This is a brilliant place to go for a cycle or walk. Nice view along the way

I love this nature trail, perfect for getting out for a walk or bike ride. Has a few paths coming off connecting to Mickleover and the countryside. Wild apples growing along the route too, good for making crumbles in autumn. Also, trail leads to Etwall and Mickleover.

On an autumn morning in the sunshine there's nothing better than walking down the trail and even better when you have a happy dog enjoying the walk with you. Happy days

Really good long off lead walks for the dogs

Beautiful views. Take your litter home. Would be even better if some cyclists stopped treating this public FOOTPATH like the final stage of the Tour de France.

The GN Cycle Path is really well maintained by Sustrans and offers access between Etwall and Mickleover for peaceful strolls in rural surroundings...
...off-shoot paths lead to the walks over towards Radbourne and surrounding villages
M. R.
Lovely route for walking and cycling. Mostly straight and well maintained. Gets busy at weekends and in nice weather.
T. G.
Love this path. Perfect for dog walking/cycling. Nice and peaceful. Very nice on a summers evening when all the trees are full.

Nice walk for all. Pretty straight forward used by dog walkers, cyclists and families. Can get dark as unlit access to Hack wood Farm tea rooms.

Good place for dog walking, easy walking, just beware of cyclists who think they own the track, don't bother using bells, cocks all of them

A lovely place to have a walk and safe if you have a dog. Lots of different plants and wildlife to look at as you walk.

Needs maintaining regularly..very quiet tonight on the track...some solar lights trinkets would be nice to see hanging in the trees 🙂

Flat gravelled path through trees and fields. Can walk/ cycle for miles from edge of city into countryside. Intermittent gates to negotiate.
