Outstanding. I visited in August and spent over an hour testing a ICE trike. The subsequent purchase and delivery (to Newcastle) was completely free of stress and drama. Excellent customer engagement and service.

An industry leading car-free business specialising in recumbents, trikes, bikes, tandems and family load carriers. David has a wealth of knowledge and experience to offer, and is amazingly helpful. Keep an eye out for the ex-demo offerings as there are some real bargains to be had. There are few recumbent dealers in the UK, but businesses like Laid Back mean we are never short changed on service or commitment. Open Saturdays from 10 to 5:30, and by appointment on weekdays.

David at Laid Back bikes is highly knowledgable and supremely helpful. He will customise your bike to particular requests (where mechanically possible). He stocks a wide range of demos and can access many recumbents (and other practical bikes) from a variety of manufacturers. I have bought a number of bikes from David and he is very fair in all dealings. The link with the mechanics at The Bicycle Works is excellent - I use them for servicing and David utilises their expertises in building up bikes and sorting out any mechanical issues.
