Might be that the true test of quality customer service is when things don't quite go right. Walter from Velow found and prepped a legendary mountain bike from my past and made it Edinburgh city ready. I was and am SO pleased with it. Something went awry shortly after - Walter came to my house the next day to fix it. Sadly it wasn't fixed - he came back AGAIN that night and fitted a spare from his own bike - brought me two beers and ordered a replacement. Tonight a third visit to replace with the new parts. Of course I would have preferred that not to happen and I know he would too. But his efforts to sort it went above and beyond what I could have expected. 5+ stars..

A gem of a local bike workshop. Exceptionally helpful for my steel bike restoration - Walter's knowledge of what is feasible in mixing old and new components, and ability to assess whether a rusty frame was still salvageable, was key to my project. Velow got the tricky bits done, leaving me to do the final build, which is exactly how I wanted to work. Couldn't be happier with the result and the process - a lot of fun during covid times. They've also worked on a modern bike for me, and again the knowledge of what to fit (to solve a press fit bottom bracket issue) was really important. They are just as quick and nice and fairly priced as all the other reviews say. Thank you!

I've had the pleasure of dealing with Walter for my new bike purchase and have found him to be thoroughly knowledgeable, polite, punctual and professional. Oh and he built an amazing RC500 custom gravel bike which I LOVE. Excellent shop if you’re having bike trouble! I got a puncture in my tubeless tires when I was riding through portobello. I was out of plugs so I thought I’d see if they had any in stock. They did and they topped up my sealant, fixed the puncture, and got me on my way. Thanks Velowers!

I took my old 3 speed Triumph to Walter to sort some niggling issues that had came up from commuting daily. Having felt that most bike shops I had been to prior had only been trying to sell me a new bike, it was refreshing to find a place that valued older bikes and strives to keep them in use. Not only did Walter fix the issues I had pointed out, he found more and fixed them too! Walter went above and beyond with the work carried out, and also in making sure I got my bike back as quickly as possible! Could not rate the service highly enough. Quicker than promised and cheaper than expected, what more could you ask for? I will be back in future for any more work carried out!

I needed a bottom bracket replaced in my bike so asked Walter if he could have a look and see what can be done. He picked my bike up from my workplace, fixed it in his workshop and after a few days dropped if off at my house which is located in a different city. Now... this was a while ago so Im not sure if Walter still provides pick up / drop off services... but I've felt that he really wanted the best for me and was willing to go the extra mile (literally) even for such a small repair. I have since recommended Walter to my friends, family and colleagues.
