Despite being busy with customers coming in and out, we felt really looked after. He made our son feel valued and seen and played warriors and had a battle with him. When we came to collect the bike, Stevie surprised our son with an epic battle using weapons he had created for him especially that morning. I was incredibly touched at his thoughtfulness and would highly recommend Corner Bikes. Huge fans in our household.

t.Was looking for a new hydraulic brake cylinder. Instead I was given some very good advice and a free split pin. Could have been charged upwards of £60 for a new cyclinder but instead got advice on how to fix the original. This was my first time at Corner Bikes but it won't be the last.
W. C.Bought a bike pump and tube for my son's pram, they were really helpful and friendly. Made a mess of getting the tube in the wheel and brought it back the next day. One of the guys very kindly put the tube into the wheel (a very dirty wheel at that) for me. I'd recommend this shop, they are very helpful.

H. M.I've been using the services of Corner Bikes in Shawlands for 18 months now and it's by far the very BEST bike shop / repair shop in Glasgow that I've had experiences with. The fella Stevie is funny, warm, honest and kind! The service he provides sets a new standard for bike expertise and practical application of years of valuable experience. I can't recommend enough, make sure to visit if you ever need a repair, a new part or even a whole new bike!
G. K.I took my bike along to Corner Bikes for a repair quote after a bit of a disaster with the gears/chain/derailleur breaking and damaging my back wheel. I was expecting the worst cost wise, but was very happy with the quote provided, given the amount of repair work and replacement parts required.
Stephen was also able to fit new peddles at a very reasonable cost compared to peddles I'd tried to find whilst shopping around to replace a cracked peddle myself.
The shop is busy so you should expect a little lead time in getting your repair booked in, but I'd say the amount of people using Corner Bikes speaks volumes.

The cost of all this was very reasonable. I was out for a spin in the country today and was so pleased with how the bike was performing that I phoned the shop when I was out to rave about everything. It's like a new bike. The owner had gauged my requirements perfectly and he was the one who did all the work. I was really impressed with his overall honesty and expertise. They also found some serious safety issues with my bike in regards to the fork but took the patience and rectified it and went out of their way to get parts and tools needed to fix it up and the difference with cycling now is like night and day :) Would highly recommend!

O. M.Stephen is a man who prides himself on removing any seized or stubborn bike part using his bare hands or possibly even his teeth. Don''t try this at home: take it to Corner Bikes.

A. M.Experience is the only real show in town when it comes to bikes and Stephen has it in spades. His shop is thoughtfully set up and an Aladdin's Cave of parts meaning a lot more niche jobs can be done there and then.
Corner Bikes contribute to community cycling groups like Bike Town as well which is another great reason to back him, donating bikes and tyres when he could as easily sell them on for personal profit.
To address an issue bike shops are confronted with and to defend those like Stephen who does well to be so patient with, I shall say this:
A lot of hammered old bikes are presented to bike shops. They may still be rideable, but are so far past where they should be mechanically that a lot of money will be needed to put them right. Giving the instruction to fix half a bike is like taking a ripped suit to a drycleaners with no intention of then visiting a tailor, it's pointless.
Who goes to their hairdresser and asks for the cheapest cut possible please, cut every corner please, it's only hair? Who goes to their hairdresser and says how come it costs so much anyway? Who says this? No one says this, so why act like this in a bike shop when you could actually be injured rather than merely ridiculed as a result of your ludicrous attitude? To save money? Get a grip.
Stephen will tell you all this which some people do not wish to hear. Our modern, entitled, offence-taking culture holds this out as rudeness. It's not, it's just solid advice.
To continue the hammered bike example, the same customer will then go somewhere else and bestow hero status on this other party for putting right what another was too snooty to, but this is wrong in my opinion. Worn parts are worn parts and cannot become pristine with goodwill or a drop of oil.
If it's a short term solution to a long term problem don't bother reputable bike shops.
If you think bikes are toys you have a problem that there is no surmounting. I do not which is why i shall continue to take my bikes to Corner Bikes.
