great service and prices. had a dodgy bottom bracket that I thought needed replaced. work was completed quickly and it didn't need replaced but James was v communicative and honest about what needed done and told me everything he did to fix it. brilliant wee shop and I'll be back soon to get my other bike sorted

Dealt with them a couple times - help with changing bike tyres and a bike service. Was really pleased with the results each time, and my ancient bike felt like new after the service.
Just organisationally things could have been better. I asked for a slightly quick turnaround for the service and was told this would be fine. However I wasn’t notified that it was running late due to an early closure which caused me some inconvenience (probably wouldn’t have originally gone for it if I knew it would be late). Think they are understaffed and the owner obviously works his socks off, just probably shouldn’t take on so much!

Incredible service, can’t recommend them enough! Took in a bike that was barely holding together and they fixed it within a couple of days at short notice. Friendly staff who are clearly very skilled and knowledgable… thank you so much!

I put my bike in here for a service after a long period of neglect and it rides soo much better now, really great service!

I had great service visiting this bike shop for some work on my cargo bike. Great price and managed to get the job done where other places couldn't.
Thanks!

Brilliant service. Gave my old bike a good few more years of service.

Super service. Great advice, really helpful on advising on parts and bikes. Very knowledgable guy. Completely went out of his way to get in contact with me and make it posssible to pick my bike up even when he was closed. Would highly recommend and will definitely be going back in the future.

I need my rear brake pads replaced and no one else in Glasgow could do it that quickly for me. I took it to Glasgow bike hive and not only did they do it quickly but they also did an exceptional job for a fair price. Would definitely recommend!

Fantastic service for a reasonable price.
Cannondale Caad 8 restored to full working order after 18 months in the hut. Parts sourced & full service for a great price. Knowledgeable & friendly staff also gave maintenance & local area advice for free. Highly recommended!

Fantastic local bike shop! James has an exceptional knowledge of bike mechanics and offers a full range of services. I‘ve had full bike services as well as forks, wheels, dropper posts, the works, not to mention a few component orders here and there... honestly, I can’t recommend BikeHive enough.

Curious opening hours, that are 10-12am or 5-7pm for 5 days a week (closed on Tues and Weds), especially in the winter months. Mornings are just out for me and i'm never in some great mood to schlep there (and then back again) when it's dark. I'm a single female that just rather wouldn't, and it's a trek when your bike is out of action. Place gets busy (cos you all rock up at once) and you can spend quite a while waiting. Friendly very decent guy but could improve his listening skills a bit (instead of talking constantly). Oh and now Facebook says he's closed once more till March. Unpredictable.

Great experience. The mechanic did an awesome job. Had to replace the 7-speed cassette, fix the rear brakes and adjust the derailleurs.
I had to wait for a whole week to make an appointment and no-one was answering the phone so I had to go there in person but the service was great so I can't complain.

It’s rare to see any shop with a solid 5 star rating so I just had to
check it out for myself. Bike Hive was a bit of a ride from my home
but I must say James lived up to his reputation. Fantastic service
and a true Zen knowledge of bikes. Well worth going the extra mile.

Always had good service there. Friendly staff, and the best place in Glasgow for ebikes and cargo bikes. You might even get to see a cute shop dog :)
S. D.
James is a top notch mechanic and a very nice dude. Even though it's normally because something's wrong with my bike, I look forward paying the place a visit. Quick and top notch service for a good price... 10/10 🤟

James is an honest, knowledgable and professional bike mechanic. I have used him a few times now and ever been disappointed.
For example I had a warped disc break and instead of just billing me for a new disc he took the time to straighten it and ensure it was fit for purpose.
This is the ideal shop to take your bike to if you have no idea about bikes. James won't take advantage and always explains everything in detail.

Really happy with the job James did on my Giant Propels stuck bottom bracket. Always nerve wracking when something is stuck in an expensive frame, but I got the bike back in a couple of days with no problems so I was really impressed. He's got a really good knowledge of pretty much anything with wheels on so I wouldn't hesitate to take any sort of bike along to Bike Hive. The workspace of the shop is also impressive, definitely a better place to do mechanical work than my flat. Would be great to see his business pick up over the next few months as it's a really great idea for a bike shop.

Superb service. Genuine fella. Not sure why most of Glasgows large bike shops/garages suck heavily through teeth and can not get you in for at least 2-4 weeks. If you want fast and good service use this guy. The best!
A. F.
Rarely review things out of laziness, but owner is a brilliant guy and a very knowledgeable mechanic. Very friendly and very helpful. Has become my local bike shop from now on. Honest pricing and great work.

Great in shop experience, qualified technician was glad to help despite the current situation.
Definitly knows what he's doing and does it well, parts were cheap and learnt a lot about the Glaswegian cycling community.
Merci encore

Great service. James and his team are the best bike mechanics I've used and have a really positive customer service attitude. 100% reommended.

Great place to get your bike sorted. Professional, experienced and friendly staff. High quality tools. Was quite impressed with "bike bath". Went there to work on my MTB bike and went for "DIY" option. Owner was always at hand when I needed help or advice. Definately will come back.
K. G.
Excellent service at a very good price. Sorted my problem straight away and put a couple of other issues right quickly and with no fuss. I’d highly recommend.

James is really knowledgeable and a friendly guy. Superb honest service, prices and availability. I'll be taking all my bikes here now.
D. K.
The guy is extremely helpful, even if he doesn’t have some parts, he’ll always tell you the website to find them, reasonable prices, visiting him every couple of weeks, sometimes outside official working hours - but he is still always ready to help
L. P.
Helped me out when Halfords wouldn't with my brand new bike via cycle to work scheme. I'm an NHS worker and use my bike to commute and bike hive saved the day, couldn't recommend more.

We were unlucky and were rammed by a tour bus. Our bikes and bike rack were severely bent. On Thursday afternoon we came to the Bike Hive and received a super friendly welcome! James and his colleague really did everything they could to get our bikes moving again quickly. My Böttcher bike was particularly difficult because it has Big Apple tires and the rim is unusual for the UK. They fixed everything over the weekend and we could pick up the bikes again on Monday in excellent condition. If you have any bike issues and are in or around Glasgow, head to the Bike Hive! You will be happy with the result. Super professional and friendly workshop! Many thanks to James and colleagues!!!
