I am glad to have found James, a knowledgeable and reliable professional! Run away from mechanics that condemn your expensive piece of equipment as faulty, when in reality they are either lazy or do not know their craft enough. After all, it's much easier to work with new components and discard everything that needs some deep cleaning or time-consuming tweaks. Even though I am not very good at repairing the bike myself, I understand the principles and I know what to expect from a good mechanic. Hopefully, James and I will have a long-term professional-customer relationship as I am very happy with how my bike is working now! I definitely recommend James if you have not found your mechanic yet!

I would 100% reccomend James at Segment Cycle Repair. Desparate for someone to replace a gear cable for me the day before going away on a cycling trip, James was able to fit me in on the same day and have my road bike sorted and back to me within a couple of hours. James was knowledgeable and polite and displayed great attention to detail- making finer adjustments to get the bike moving and running like new! Took my old, under used Boardman bike to James as it was suffering through under use and damage to the back wheel following an underwhelming fall at Glentress! James took in the bike, explained at drop off what he thought was needed, kept me up to date with the work and has done a great job, the bike rides like new again. As said in other comments, James is friendly, comes across as knowledgeable, communicates well and has done a fine job. I would happily recommend James to anyone.

Took my cross bike in for a full service, and a new hand built set of wheels. James had the bike running perfectly, getting it back to me same week. New wheels are great, James sorted out the unique cannondale dishing, and had them ready to go in a few days. Both bike and wheels handled 300km of gravel a couple of weeks later without an issue.
