I had an amazing experience with Willy Bain. A very honest and professional service. I was recommended to him by an experienced biker who does a lot of bike maintenance himself. I called Willy because I thought my bottom bracket needed replaced. After a couple of minutes on the phone Willy diagnosed my fault was actually my chainring bolts. He was spot on and re-greased my chainring bolts. Problems solved. I am very particular about my bike and would have no concerns in recommending Willy Bain. Thanks Willy!

This was the first time i used the shop after being recommended by a friend. Absolutely fantastic service by a great knowledgeable guy. Half of my bike needed rebuilt with several components replaced. Considering everything that needed done i was very happy with the price. My bike hasn't felt so good since it was bought several years back. There was a minor issue that required fine tuning and Willy was more than happy to sort it there and then. Top man !! Many thanks. Highly recommended and i will be back 100%.

I bought a bike online from Sports Direct, but when i had set it up, the left pedal would not fit. I needed the pedal fixed asap as my son's birthday was coming up shortly. I called willy and he told me to bring the bike over, i got to the shop, gave him the bike and he had fixed the bike within 10 minutes. He had saved my boys birthday. I would highly recommend. I popped into the shop as the screw had fell out of my mud guard. There was a sign in the window saying fully booked but Willy still repaired my bike for me and as if that wasn’t kind enough he didn’t even want to charge me for it. Lovely man and fantastic service! Have known Willy since I was a young boy, firstly with him working for Craig MacMartin. I've taken all my bikes over the years to Willy for work either servicing or building up. I've also had countless wheels trued and built by him. Seen a few comments about how busy he is and the timescale involved. Have a look how many bikes are there in his shop and remember - he repairs bikes, he doesn't sell them so every bike you see is there for repair/rebuild/service. You'll get the job done roughly within timescale and at a very good price. You can't judge a 1 man repair shop the same as a main car dealer with 5 mechanics!!. There's always busy times for Willy, as with any bike repair shop. Notably early Spring to late Autumn as folk get their Summer/Winter bikes serviced or repaired ready for use. Willy wasn't one of the chosen bike mechanics for the 2012 Olympics for team GB for nothing....

Phoned willy bains today looking to get a repair done for same day. Told me he was fully booked which I expected. I explained to him that i was starting a new job in the morning and was difficult to get to by public transport. Willy says straight away bring it in, got there he took the bike says go get a coffee be ready when you get back. True to his word it was. I would give him more than 5 stars. Have been going to his shop for quite a few years now. The most recent being last week when he was about to finish for the day! My single speed bike suffered from a free hub on my way back home. Even at the end of a long working day, he fixed it with a smile on his face. Plan to modify my Trek 1.1 series road bike after taking his advice. Great service, on time and very helpful.

Could not recommend willy highly enough. Recently bought an old Raleigh road bike recently to commute to the Udc I've been working in during lockdown. I havnt much experience with bikes and the shop i brought it to before willy to have new tyres and brakes fitted were an absolute nightmare and made me feel like an idiot. After this a friend recommended willy. The shop was very busy however since I use my bike to get to work for the NHS willy saw me straight away and didn't charge me for labour. The bike feels brand new and he answered all the questions I had.

Stopped at the repair shop as my bike wheel kept jamming. This was a quick release wheel that was not secured properly. Willy was testing a bike repair outside & was extremely helpful. He fixed my problem in 2 minutes. I will be using this repair shop in future & recommend it.

I had broken my bike chain the day before so stopped by to ask when Willy could have a look. I was told to pick up the bike and bring it over. He fitted a new chain and checked my gears (which had always been sticky) straight away and pretty inexpensively. Couldnae recommended more!

Just back from the first ride on my bike after being in Willie's for repair. Creaking bike was driving me crazy - new bottom bracket , new headset - still creaking. Issue was the inner chainring! I would never in a month of sundays identified that as the issue- now replaced. I have tried the rest but stick with the best! Couldn’t have been more helpful today. I turned up unannounced with a very expensive carbon wheel that has an issue. I was asked if I could wait. The wheel was looked at and I was advised that it should be returned to the manufacturer (it’s 5 months old and under warranty) No charge for the inspection. Will be taking my bikes here from now on. What can I say about Willy Bain. Not only is he established as an elite mechanic within the Glasgow community but his selection as a track-side Olympic mechanic speaks for itself! What Willy adds to this incredible skill-set is a hefty dose of gentlemanly and friendly conduct to his work. The first few times I visited his shop, he refused to take any money off me for the small components he gave me. Similarly, he has refused payment when he has given me practical advice and assistance. This type of conduct is unheard of in this day and age and is in stark contrast to some of the treatment I have received in other south side bike shops, where some have often asked for extra payment just to complete the job they were designated in the first instance. Poor show. The result is that I now travel a mile and pass two bike shops to use his services, and think nothing of this. He is the only person aside from myself that I trust with my bikes. If you stay anywhere near his shop, his services are the only ones you should consider using. You will not be disappointed!

Just had a wheel truing and you wouldn't know it was ever out in the first place. I also asked if my hydraulic brakes might need bled as the levers were a bit too close to the handle bars when squeezed and he just adjusted the levers there and then for free and gave me a tip on how to maintain their tension. Brilliant service.

i cant rate willy highly enough. my bike had been in 2 other bike shops for brake squeal problems. the problem kept coming back a week or so after i got the bike back from the shops. i gave the bike to willy and he visually diagnosed the problem, he asked if he could keep the bike to carry out an overnight pressure test on the brakes to make sure his diagnosis was correct, it was, oil was leaking from the pistons onto the pads. the two other bike shops missed this. i wont be going anywhere else for my bike repairs and maintenance. see you soon willy

Willy Bain has helped with problems big and small with my bike over the years. In his absence the gentleman minding the shop even gave me coffee and a biscuit when a car hit me on my bike and i was unharmed but got a fright.
