Amazing customer care, Matt helped both myself and my wife through purchasing 2 hybrid bikes, he was very patient with us both despite having 2 toddlers playing up in the store. Completely tailored his service to our lack of knowledge and helped us choose the right accessories too. Maureen was brilliant too a complete whiz when it came to the cycle to work vouchers made it all so hassle free. I feel terrible I even considered going anywhere else. I had found the trek bike I wanted online and my main priority was to get the bike ASAP. Using Glos Bike Project was the best decision we made.

Excellent friendly service. Very knowledgeable but don't make you feel daft if you are a novice cyclist. Nice and relaxed. I'd always come here for my bikes.

Excellent staff knowledge and a good range of bikes. My son came away very happy!

Amazing staff, great advise all around. Really helped me a lot to get me my new Trek X-Caliber 9. Extremely happy with this purchase. And I am quite lucky to be honest, to be able to find a bike which fits me perfectly and is brilliant for exploring the gravels, countryside and tow paths around Gloucester. Will definitely be seeing you folks again.
Cheers,
Jishnu

Bought a bike from Gloucestershire Bike project recently and it was a pleasure to do business with them, they helped and advised in setting up a cycle to work scheme which helped me save over £350 on the bike, knowledgeable and friendly staff and would definitely recommend,
Many thanks

Amazing service! Love my bike!

This company has far exceeded my expectations, i recently purchased a bike for my girlfriend during the lockdown. We turned up late Sat and bought new bike, it wasn't going to be ready until the following wednesday, but the guy in shop asked his assistant, if there was anything he could do to help. He immediately said he would work behind for the couple of hours it would take to assemble, i was amazed with the level of commitment and amazing service, by far some of the best level of service i have ever received. We were allowed to take for test ride, the saddle was hand cut to reduce size, the level of help to pick bike that suited my girlfriend with her medical conditions was also personal and friendly advice.
Can't thank all you guys enough.
Well done and highly recommended

I attended an excellent bicycle servicing course. The knowledge and expertise, not to mention patience, of both Steve and Matt were superb. I took my wife's bike which has been serviced by bike shops in the past and had minor maintenance done by me. After years of struggling I now have the knowledge and confidence to tackle most routine maintenance and know that I have done the job correctly and safely. I would have total confidence taking our bikes to the Bike Project for any major work. An all round excellent experience.

I have bought two bikes from this fine establishment. A folding one and a more regular commuting bike both at a great price.
Both have been absolutely brilliant. I really love the piece of mind you get from the free tune up after you have worn the bike in a bit and when the light failed they fixed it without question as it was within the warranty period.
I recommend this to all my friends and they have all had a great experience too. The best bit is knowing that any surplus goes to supporting the projects to support vulnerable young people and adults.

I drive a good 30 miles to these guys and I do it with the knowledge that they have expertise, are friendly and won't rip you off. Absolute pleasure doing business with them and having my bike come back feeling sparkling new again!

Very good service....I had to book in advance due current situation...I could deliver my bike the day before....they called me to check if I wanted to go ahead with some changes I did not expect on my Bike. They explained everything very well and with facts! It's good the work they do. Also, as a charity it's great to support them. They know what they are doing!

Outstanding customer service and great value. I got a puncture 13 miles from home and they were able to repair it straight away - I was back on my bike in 20 mins. The shop is right next to the national cycle route 41, so a good choice if you get stuck like I did. Efficient social distancing measures.

Very helpful great quick service and reasonably priced

Great shop. These guys have helped me out on many an occasion and taught me a lot about bike maintenance too. I've had bad experiences elsewhere, so it's great to find a shop that knows what they're doing. Great workmanship, highly recommended.

Wow! Amazing service from the three staff I met over the week.
Purchased a lovely bike that fitted me perfectly.
Leg extension, and reach along with frame size were considered by very friendly and knowledgable people.
Extras fitted as requested. Price very reasonable and own bike was accepted as part ex.
Would recommend to everyone.
Buying new or second hand this is the place to go. A*

Bought my new Trek bike here last week. Got really amazing service from the staff. The bike works beautifully, much better than bikes I have bought in the past. Love the shop too, with all the bikes on the walls. Definitley the place to get your bikes in Gloucester

I popped in this afternoon with a tore up tyre and inner tube. The staff were very friendly and managed to sort out my bike before they closed. Their customer service was amazing and I will definitely be coming back to them in the future. They were also great for money! It cost £20 for the inner tube, tyre and service. Thank you very much! You're all lovely xxx

I can’t say thank you enough to the wonderful staff at GBP!! I recently bought a bike elsewhere but kept on having loads of issues with it so I asked the guys at GBP to have a look at it.
And to my amazement, with thanks to their quality workmanship, my is bike now running better than when I originally bought it!!
Just shows the experienced knowledge & level of service these guys offer.
Big shout out to Matt & the team!! - I’m now a customer for life!

Friendly, knowledgeable staff and the cost of having my tubeless tyre set up, was less than I was expecting. Will definitely be using them again for all my set-up and servicing needs in the future.

Purchased a Trek FX3 from Glos Bike project this last week. The service was brilliant. I am a bit obsessive about my bikes so I was really pleased to find just how well the bike had been put together when I returned home. The brakes, pedals , chain had all been well lubricated. There is even small amount of grease around the seat post to stop any water etc getting into the frame.
They are down to earth people, very friendly and professional. They took a lot of time making sure i had the right bike for me and the right size frame. They know how to assemble a bike. Ive bought previous bikes from other places that I have always found have just thrown the bike together. These people care!
Thank you. I will never go anywhere else :)

I had my bike stolen and I dropped in to the Bike Project to get another one. It was supposed to be closed, but Matt saw me through the window and invited me in and I ended up with a secondhand bike, which is in very good condition, and a new serious lock. Matt set it up for me with much care and told me to come back to get it checked.
That was last week and I went in today to ask about a higher gear. They changed it whilst I waited at no cost. Terrific, thoughtful, caring and kind service. As good as it gets. Malcolm

My children and I came to glos. around 3 years ago and have been customers of Gloucestershire Bike Project ever since; our first round of bikes were absolutely great, however mine got damaged beyond repair and the children did what children do best and outgrew theirs! As ever, the lovely Gloucestershire Bike Project Team were more than happy to help us find just the right bikes for our needs! Further, when it became clear that our bike security needs were left wanting, the team were genuinely invested in helping to ensure the security of our bikes in the long term. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Gloucestershire Bike Project to anyone looking for help with any cycling needs! ;0)

I needed to replace my beloved 35 year old Raleigh Racing bike. The frame cracked again after I had it welded about 3 years ago so decided it was time for a change! Popped into the Gloucester Bike Project shop on Commercial Road, Gloucester (opposite Soldier's Museum) last week to have a quick look but time got the better of me. Dropped in again today and looked at a few of the refurbished bikes upstairs. A good choice of bikes and all staff (Ashley, Matt, Garth, Steve and Maureen, hope I haven't missed anybody) are very professional, helpful and go out of their to find what you require. I came away with a nice bike at a fair price. Thanks very much. Highly recommended.

Good selection of new & used bikes & as a non-profit you know sales are going back into community cycling. Always willing to help, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I’m hoping to sign up for one of the bike maintenance courses soon (free to over 50s 😀)

Another very happy customer here. I'm so glad that I popped into Glos. Bike Project on the off chance to look at the Trek Bikes, because a week later I rode away on a brand new bike :) As others have said, the service is friendly and professional, and a particular thanks to Matt for all his help.
T. S.
Great choice of push bikes but more importantly the staff very helpful and informative. At one point I had two of them and both added something new to my knowledge. I happily bought a bike and gear from them. I will definitely come back for service and more gear there.

My 13 year old son attended a bike maintenance course here. The staff are very encouraging, helpful and knowledgeable. He learnt lots about looking after his bike and more importantly it boosted his confidence and self esteem at a time when he needed it. They are a great team and it's a very worthwhile project.

Can't speak too highly of this place. Excellent service from enthusiastic, knowledgable, friendly, helpful and hard working staff. They went out of their way to find a solution to properly fix my old Marin Mountain bike (which presented them with a few challenges). This will definitely be my cycle shop of choice.

Just completed a free bike maintenance course run by steve, every Monday for three weeks, the course was excellent I learnt so much, I loved the the hands on approach you learn so much more this way I think, the instructor was very friendly and helpful he has great knowledge of bikes, I would highly recommend this course to any one interested in bikes, I learnt about brakes, gears, bearings on the course. This course was free which is really kind and generous of the shop to give up there time and knowledge many thanks.

Good range of bikes on offer for a variety of budgets. Repairs good value and within a good timeframe. Excellent service from Matt, really helpful and knowledgeable. Good social distancing in operation.

Very efficient service at a very reasonable price. New tyre fitted and gear issue resolved. Thank you all.

I enjoyed my time volunteering with the project. The projects knowledge and generosity to help the the community are second to none! Great work with old classic bikes and keeping many wheels on the road with fantastic repair shops! Keep up the brilliant work!

I was blown away by the excellent service. Matt went to enormous trouble to ensure we had all the information and try-outs we needed to make the right decision. Great to find a service where they know everything but make it understandable to non-bike people. Very trustworthy and real value for money
R. D.
Brilliant project run by a group of down to earth and passionate bike geeks. Super approachable and knowledgeable (they'll chat, give advice and help research for your own projects) they have bikes for all prices and can source all sorts of parts quickly and at great prices. A hidden gem in Gloucester
L. C.
This project is a great idea. You can donate your old bike there or find new one. Plus professional staff can do MOT or repair your current bike. All for safety cycling and eco friendly, healthy living. I can recommend this place. You will get always a good service service over there.

Many moons ago I was driving down a country lane close to where we live and in the distance heading in the same direction I noticed two cyclists, as I got nearer I saw that the one in front was our son on his Halfords Iron Girder special, with me hanging back slightly the bike behind overtook our son at a rapid pace and shot off into the distance. I then went pass our son and caught up the faster cyclist and as I passed noticed that she was an older woman, possibly in her 60s. Nice to see-
A while later with me now home our son arrived and I started to tease him about being overtaken by a Grannie-his retort was yes Dad, but she was on a racing bike with skinny tyres
The seed was sown!
Not knowing much about bikes I sought the advice of a friend who has at least six top end bikes on what racing bike with skinny tyres would suit our son, he suggested a Ribble sportive, not overly expensive but good value for money.
Our friend came to our home and measured our son to determine what frame size would suit him and the bike was ordered.
Unfortunately, our son is in between frame sizes and it was obvious that the delivered bike was too large, so back to Ribble it went for all the components to be swapped over to the smaller frame, there was a minimal charge for this and I must praise Ribble here as they were faultless dealing with this.
So one happy son on a racing bike with skinny tyres was let loose looking out for Grannies to challenge-
About a year later we received feedback from our cycling friend that he had observed that our son was an assassin up the hills and with no respect to Ribble he needed a top end bike to further his potential, so again, advice was sought as to what would suit- the choice was narrowed down to either a Trek Emonda disc SLR 6, 7, 9 or a Canyon ultimate CF SLX disc-Canyons customer feedback leaves a lot to desired so the Trek Emonda 7 disc was chosen.
It’s also a big bonus if you can speak directly to a person face to face if there are issues-Canyon doesn’t offer this.
I guess I contacted at least half a dozen Trek dealers for a discounted price but it was so obvious that this wasn’t going to happen so I had the choice of either a dealer in Bristol or one in Gloucester from which to purchase the bike, with Gloucestershire bike project being the easier option for distance from our home and ease of parking they received the order.
Now we come to what frame size? As Trek don’t offer the swapping system that applied with Ribble it was imperative that somehow we get the correct frame to suit.
This bike was a surprise for our son so somehow we had to get him measured without him knowing what was going on.
I concocted a load of waffle about him having to be measured for some new bib shorts but to be 100% sure that the shorts were the correct size he would have to sit on a bike for measurements to be taken.
Gloucestershire bike project were absolutely brilliant with dealing with this and Steve the tech needs an Oscar with the way he measured our son and told a very convincing story about chamois differences and other bib short technicalities.
Of course a Trek bike had been set up for our son to sit on.
How our son didn’t pick up on this fabrication is beyond me, but it didn’t click-
A frame size was found! The order was finalised.
Delivery to our home by Maureen and Matt was about a month after the order and I was kept in the loop as to what was going on by Gloucestershire bike project- what a stunning bike this is, just looking at the bike it just oozes class-beautiful.
Gloucestershire bike project have been absolutely brilliant with everything to do with this purchase, they are professional, kind, honest , very friendly, and very importantly can be trusted-fret not. Everything slotted into place with no concerns from us about spending a fair amount of beer tokens on a high end bike.
Maureen, Matt, Steve and team you are all a credit to the Trek brand.
Many thanks
Pubs open!
PS.
Grannies beware

Attended a bicycle maintenance course run by Steve earlier in the year. I've been cycling for donkey's years and doing my own repairs but still picked up some useful tips. Well worth attending.

I had been meaning to buy a cycle for some time now, my partner and I came across the Glos Bike Project a few months ago. We call in at the shop whenever we are in Gloucester. Last Saturday, I spotted "the" bike, I were allowed to sit on it, but was nervous and a little indecisive. I liked the look of the bike and decided to purchase it.
Yesterday I went back to the shop feeling aprehensive - did I make the right decision? As soon as I saw the bike again, I knew that I had. The GBP, were kind enough to deliver the bike to my partner's place, they went the extra mile, and then some.
I was out riding the bike today - marvelous, I didn't want to get off the bike. I would recommend the GBP, it is such a worthwhile project.
