Great Service. I had just bought an e-bike which was impossible to ride. Phil sorted me out: adjusting the gears, front wheel, handlebars and generally checking the bike all over to ensure it was safe to ride. Phil did a wonderful job in a very short time , the bike is now a joy to ride. Reasonable pricing with a smile :-) Highly recommended.

I contacted Phil after reading his consistent five star reviews . I wanted a few jobs doing on a part restoration of a decade old VSF Fahrrad hybrid / tourer - good idea as these German made bikes are now unavailable to buy new in the in the UK since Brexit as they are no longer imported . The main job was fitting a Nexus Inter 8 hub wheelset and assembly . Phil did a great job and the set up works perfectly- very smooth shifting. I also asked Phil to fit new pedals - but we did not foresee him having remove the old pedals which were practically welded on ! He also persevered in adjusting a seized threaded headset . All in all Phil is a great mechanic who provides a personal touch and grand customer service with very competitive pricing , all of which you would be hard pressed to find with "the big boys' ! Delighted .

I can’t recommend Phil highly enough for all bike repairs and upgrades. I’ve been using Phil on all of my bikes for months now and as I’m very particular about having everything on my bikes absolutely perfect Phil certainly meets this standard with all of his jobs. He goes above and beyond and has a very high attention to detail and will not give you your bike back unless it’s perfect. Phil will also fit you in when required and there’s no 2 weeks waiting to get your bike in like most bike shops atm 🤙 Phil is also totally honest and upfront with all requirements and works and his prices are spot on too.

I have had my bike for over 10 years, it was old, didn't peddle well, gears were knackered and then I got a tear in my tyre. I very nearly got rid of it for a new bike but saw Phil's sign for his bike repairs on my way to work. I sent him a text, he collected my bike, was really friendly, he kept me in the loop throughout the whole process of repairs on my bike. I took my 20 year old Scott Mountain Bike to Phil based on positive reviews on FB. The bike had issues with the gear selection, which I couldn’t fathom myself. He checked the bike over, called me with options after finding the issue to agree a solution/price, before completing the repair to a high standard. Upon collection he walked me through the repair, and had also completed a full safety check of the bike, which was great as I hadn’t used it for over a year so gave me peace of mind. Anyone got any issues with your bike. I would very highly recommend Phil at the bike repair shop Formby. I recently gave Phil my road bike which needed new headset bearing plus some issues with the gears fixing. Not only did Phil sort these issues out but went the extra mile when he seen other things wrong on the bike. The bike came back perfect and the cost was very reasonable. Phil explains everything he does and why he's done it. Great service and I will definitely be taking my bikes back if they need repairing.

I really can’t recommend The Bike Repair Shop Formby enough. I am a regular rider of a Fat Bike in the local woods and dunes and my bike gets absolutely battered in some rough conditions.
