Thanks Butternut team for getting me on a new cycle!!! I went in a month or so ago and asked if they could sell me a bike, but they didn't have one in stock that was right for my (tiny) budget! But they were so great and told me to look online, see what I could find new or used and then they looked at my shortlist and advised me on the right one that would work for my needs (commuting to work) and family (baby seat compatible). Once I got the bike delivered I took it to them to get it set up out of the box (pedals/mudguards/bolts etc), fitted for my height, and they sold me some great accessories (panniers, lights, lock etc). Gav also very kindly gave me a run through of safety on the London roads (as I've only cycled in North America). I look forward to taking my bike in at 6 weeks for a checkup with the team :) 100% recommend!!!
Also just to add, the shop banter is a real plus on a visit, leave with bike stuff and a smile!

I had a really great experience with these guys. Took my bike in for its first service, and they were very helpful, Not knowing much about bikes myself, they had a look and let me know what they thought needed done, and then were very quick and clear about timeframes and pricing. Super friendly service and my bike is wonderful to ride again. I will definitely be returning for any future work and advice. Thanks!

Booked Niel for a bike fitting after finding Butternut and him via google. What a revelation and pleasure. My new bike was delivered 3 weeks previously and had been causing sit bone pain. After googling I was really guessing at what needed fixing and how a bike should be really set up. Niel has such an enormous amount of real world bike and comfort experience that outweighs all the technology being used. He spent around 3 hours iteratively learning about me, measuring, observing and working through changes in saddle height and position, distance to handle bars and height, and even adjusted my cleats which had been in totally the wrong position for my feet for years - who knew? Not me!! We finished up with a saddle type discussion, which will be continued, and some exercises to improve body flexibility for cycling comfort and performance.
Sunday ride 2 days later, no more sit bone pain, my position on the bike was more comfortable and I was quicker. What a change.
I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone with a bike to get a professional fit done by Niel for comfort and improved enjoyment of cycling. There are not many like him around. The whole process was a complete pleasure and the best money I have ever spent on cycling.

I can only have words of praise for Gavin and his team. Left them my very worn out bike and a few days after I got a racing machine back! It was my first time with them and I'm very happy I chose to support the local shop. Sirs, you have earned a new customer.

Very happy with the service I received. I had my new bike assembled there. They kept me informed by text when it was ready. Answered all my questions and gave me advice too. Very friendly and I enjoyed chatting with them, especially Alexander! I will definitely go back there when my bike needs servicing. Thank you guys!

Best Bike Shop in London!!!
After stupidly buying a road bike on eBay, it soon became apparent that the bike was uncontrollable and did not inspire and confidence on the road. I put up with the situation for far too long and finally stumped up the courage to start looking for a solution.
After a quick Google search I stumbled upon Butternut Bikes and more specifically Niel the Bike fitment expert. The booking process was very smooth, with Niel being very flexible with rebooking when I could not make the original date.
Niel spent over 3 hours understanding all aspects of my cycling history and goals and then proceeded to carefully adjust almost every component of my Bike to get me into a comfortable and manageable position. The instantaneous transformation was apparent on the subsequent test ride. I now feel confident on the bike and know that I won’t encounter any pain from being in the wrong position during longer rides.
Shout out to Gavin and the rest of the Butternut Bike guys for making me feel welcome at the shop!
