I came in with a problem of a wheel stuck on an axle, which I couldn't remove myself. Hub Velo were very helpful & removed it for me using their tools, but wouldn't take any money for fixing it. Super friendly & very helpful.

I took my Orbit to Hub Velo to change the handle bar, cables and cogs. I supplied the parts and the shop did an astonishing job. Fair price and the staff is friendly. Most of all, some weeks after the work, two gears were jumping. I took the bicycle in for a check and they did it for free. GREAT customer service. Definitely recommended!!

I've had a rough time finding proper "local" bike shops in London - many bike-shops around, but not all have the invested feeling of a local where the proprietors are interested in what they do and passionate about bikes in general. So, I am happy to say that Hub Velo is by all measures a really decent shop and they'll go out of their way to help if they can. I've thrice had random issues I couldn't solve with my usual assortment of home-tools, and, in spite of pitching-up at the last-minute, with no reservation, they properly went out of their way to help me get the issues resolved. Having said that, these were relatively small issues and could be resolved without a formal booking, but they are still heavily booked (COVID and all) and could easily have shrugged their shoulders and sent me away. (So, please do try to book-ahead if you can or if any substantial work needs to be done!)

Lovely Local Bike Shop Thank God I was nearby to the shop when my bike chain came off. On entering the shop you are welcomed by an inviting smell of coffee and cakes to tempt you while you wait. The lovely bike mechanic immediately came to my aid and restored my bike chain to its rightful place. Would definitely recommend. They're good peoples, thumbs up!

Bike shops are incredibly busy at the moment and it’s amazing how everyone in there is always happy and keen to help. Great if you want high end stuff and advice, or if you just want to get your bike fixed up. Zero intimidation or pretence that can sometimes go with bike shops. Definitely recommend

The only bike shop I've been going to in the last year even after moving away from Clapton. Really quick and efficient service even now when they have been extremely busy because everyone has started cycling more (thanks to COVID) there were a lot of people when I arrived on Monday but I was seen to quickly and was impressed with how staff were dealing with so many people. Very affordable service with really lovely and friendly staff!

1st time to go there today I was booked for appointment at 8am arrived there to change my cassette & shifter &chain& rear derailleur I handed them the stuff & the bike they will fit it for a Labour cost . The guys there very professional , about 4hrs later I received a call that the bike is ready for collection, the young lady on the cashier was friendly . So glad they're open and being sensible with only letting a couple of customers in at a time - just had brilliant service from Mike. They had everything on my shopping list for Brompton bits - I was expecting to have to order stuff either from them or online, but no need! I saved £40 by popping in instead of clicking on an online shop. Big thumbs up for a small independent shop run by cyclists, for cyclists.

They can be quite short and passive aggressive with you sometimes but they generally do a good job on repairs. I have gone in several times and they have fixed issues on the spot for me but of late they have been quite busy so its a good idea to book.

First bike shop in 3 to correctly identify the source of the creaking sound on my road bike; they fixed that as well as swiftly changing the handlebars and bartape (the main point of the pre-booked visit). The coffee and cakes are great too.

Very attentive and great experience. They understand the needs of a client very well. I had an issue with my vintage inspired road bike built regarding compatibility of components and they shared a great conversation about them. Even allowed me to use their tools and workspace when i was in need to get my axle shaft changed. Ive been driving past here for the last few years. Took my bike in today a young chap came and asked if i needed help. It was a very nice and friendly environment. Having been told the price and what was going to be done i agreed thinking itll take a day or two when he replied itll be ready today i was much happier. An asset for Hackney and a 5* plus Bike cafe shop. The smell of coffee was beautiful too. Also a large range of bike accessories. You will find everything needed from a-z. Thank you HUB VELO❤️ Second visit 27/04/21 got charged £25.49 (Tyre £18 and fitting £7.49) had to come back 28/04/21 after a flat tyre due to tyre change previous day got a new tube £5.99 no fitting charge. Just checked Amazon for prices and it was less at Hub Velo.

Best bike shop in town. Staff are very dedicated and extremely knowledgeable. They are bike enthusiasts and make sure your bike leaves in perfect condition. I bought my road bike there a few years ago and use Hub Velo for my servicing as well and I have never had a problem with my bike. And of course nothing beats their coffee.

It's got a good range of products and they do a good service. That said they seem a bit overwhelmed with how busy they are. I use my bike for commuting and it was in a bit of a state. I called ahead on a Tuesday to book a service they said they'd have space five days later on a Sunday, when I dropped it off the mechanic wasn't working that day so it'd be ready on a Monday. I got a call on Monday morning to say it was completed. Went to pick it up after work cycled it back but found that the breaks and the gears were a bit too tight. Took it back in on Tuesday lunch time, they also found that my rear mudguard was rubbing the back wheel needed to be trued. They weren't able to do it for another five days. I've just decided to live with it and they made it liveable by releasing the mudguard a bit. If they'd called me on Monday to say my wheel needed truing I would of told them to go ahead and gladly paid, instead it would have taken two weeks from me calling them on the phone to getting it fixed.

I got caught in a downpour recently and I took refuge in the shop hoping to buy some kind of splash guards. They where out of stock but the guys at the shop got creative with a milk bottle and some cable ties and I was in my way.
