I needed a Swytch eBike Kit installed on my Brompton, and a much needed service.
Following the service, I needed new brake pads and a new chain. This was done quickly and using high-quality components.
Nathan and the team talked me through the process and kept me updated along the way, so there were no surprising additional costs when I went to collect.
Paradise Cycles even offer a local pick-up/drop-off service - super handy!

The guy who helped me was an absolute pleasure to have dealt with, he was incredibly helpful and even took the time to show me how to tweak some bits on my bike so I could fix it myself in the future. On my way to a meeting early Monday morning I got a flat and Paradise was the closest bike shop. I cannot express how lucky that was! Not only were the staff personable and friendly, they went above and beyond.
The tire was repaired speedily, but the bike as a whole got some TLC too - little oil on the chains, little care for the rusty bolts and a little care for the brakes and the frame. It wasn't just a rush job and I really appreciated that - for someone who is a little dense when it comes to bikes I felt really taken care of! Got charged far less than expected - and by the look of the other reviews the shop and services are very fairly priced.
Bonus that the music in the shop was really groovy!
Will undoubtedly go again and am forever grateful that I stumbled across Paradise in my time of need!

S. Y. L.I have only good things to share about the amazing team running this bike shop on Roman Road. Have been working with them to build a bike with a vintage frame since the Dec 2019. It took a while but every part of the process was enjoyable. The team answered all my questions without any airs or condescension – it was an amazing learning experience for me building my own bike with them for the first time.
They had a secondhand frame perfect for me and I worked closely with them to apply new replicas of the 'Mercier' decals on the frame. They really put in the effort to make sure I knew what all my options were, and the opportunities for me to spend a little more on various components and what return I would have on my investment. All this was done with Cyclescheme too, but it was not complicated at all.
Got my bike literally a week before lockdown in March, and I couldn't be more pleased with it. Between then and today, I have gone in a couple times to have things looked at or ask questions, and each time they've helped with great speed and attitude (and didn't charge me for labour a couple times where I feel they should have)! Today I was waiting in line to pick up my bike with 5 people ahead of me. On arrival I peered in for a second to check if Louis was in and joined the queue seeing that he was. 20 minutes later he rides up towards me (still in the line) with my bike!
I can't recommend this bike shop enough for anyone looking to get a new bike or secondhand/custom build, having issues with their current bike, or needing a service done. You can expect efficient, friendly service and frank, helpful advice.

P. K.I've left my bike with them for inner tube and tyre replacement. Unfortunately during the storage or moving around in their packed place the front light/horn speaker got broken. It is more fault of the piece being made of some chinezium grade material but still a bit disappointing. Guess I'll have to tape it down now. Anyways I'll certainly come back and would recommend their services.

R.A fantastic bike shop - professional, expert service every time. I first discovered Paradise when I unearthed an old mountain bike from my garage, unused for many years. Paradise had it fixed up and working, good as new, within 48 hours - and it’s still going strong. I’ve been back for help with the other family bikes over the years - broken chains, malfunctioning gears, buckled wheels etc. They really know their stuff and they always sort things out with minimum fuss – including finding a very creative solution to a broken scooter, much to my daughter’s relief! J. B.What keeps me coming back to Paradise is the attention to detail and good chat you get on every visit. I lost a spoke on my front wheel so booking it to get a replacement. I was served by Alex who joined Paradise at the start of lockdown. He’s a legend! Great stories from his bike courier days and skilled bike mechanic.
I can’t rate this place enough, I went in for a spoke and came out with the spoke plus a degreased chain, tighter rear wheel (bearings loose), tightened breaks - all for the same price as a spoke replacement.
It is this care for their community and custom that elevates them beyond any other shop I’ve been to. Big up Louis, James and the paradise crew 🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠

Everything was explained clearly to me when I dropped it off and the mechanic gave a good estimate of what was needed. When I collected it the same day, they explained everything they had done and provided an itemised receipt of of the work. Bike feels as good as new.

Last week my front wheel was stolen, and I send and email to this shop.
In 24 hours I had a new front wheel, with the perfect tyre, break disc and everything.
They are super nice, and also the price is really good. It was cheaper than the other shops that I checked, so I spoiled my bike with a new pannier too.

S. C.I can throughly recommend these guys for fast, efficient, knowledgeable service. They saved me from having a nasty accident by spotting a crack in the frame while servicing a bike I had bought on Ebay. I hadn’t seen the crack when buying. The bike was potentially lethal. They did not charge for work already carried out. I have since bought a brand new bike and returned to them to have some accessory’s fitted. All work completed on the same day and at a great price by a friendly, helpful staff.

I crashed my bike into a pedestrian that jumped into the road infront of me near LimeHouse DLR and I knackered the front wheel entirely among other things so Paradise Cycles rebuilt the wheel and I asked for a full service which they did but they also provided some recommendations cos by the wear of my saddle rails they realised that I could do with a better handlebar setup and a better saddle.
I went with their suggestion and guess what they were correct because my cycling experience now is better than ever. I just find it interesting how they spotted that based on the saddle rail wear alone and never would've thought of it until they suggested it... and the best part is they were absolutely correct to suggest these things.
Also with the service they figured out I didn't set my stem extender the best way I could have which I suspected myself so they reinforced the bolt setup and improved the bolt cap. I didn't ask for that they just did it and for that I'm impressed because they didn't actually have to do that but they did so to me it showed they actually do care about the bikes they service.
They're a friendly bunch and have expertise about cycling and knowledge plus they sorted out my paperwork to make my insurance claim an easier process.
To the Paradise Cycles team just want to say thanks for all the help.

L. T.I recently got a new bike from paradise cycles and I LOVE IT! Pete one of the mechanics did a great job in helping me choose a basket and new handle bars so it was all ready when I came to pick it up.
They have amazing customer service. When I went to pick it up Marco helped me choose a quality lock and explain all I needed to know about how to take care of the bike and set it up for my height. Really recommend giving them a visit.

What a lovely, friendly, helpful, efficient cycle shop. I'm a novice cyclist and probably the answers to some of my questions are blindingly obvious, if you're really into cycling. At no point was I made to feel like I'd asked a stupid question and it felt a very inclusive shop. The staff were friendly and patient, they fitted accessories at no extra charge, offered advice on how to best to use the bike and, as an added bonus had an awesome playlist!

I've been coming here for the past 2 years, the guys always know what to do with my bike and advise me on how to maintain it as well as fixing me up with the accessories when I need them! They fitted my rack, my seat, and my pannier bag on for me and fitted it to most suitable to me!
Sounds really silly but this is one of the things I'm going to miss the most about East London when I move out of the area!

They have helped me several times with small things like getting my tyre back on, teaching me how to use clip-on pedals and showing me round my bike. But they have also done very professional fixes for example when I was in a collision earlier this year. Could not recommend more.

S.Been in a number of times to briefly inflate my wheels, but booked and took my bike in this morning for repair work on my rear derailleur, front brake lever, and brake cable and shifter cable after a bad crash in May.
Went to pick it up after work this evening, and it runs as smoothly as the day I received it, at a very affordable price. Awesome stuff guys, made a regular out of me!

I had a problem with my bike peddle - halfords included unnecessary work and totalled the price to fix the problem at £50, whereas paradise cycles did the perfect job for only £12 and in just 5 mins. My bike now works perfectly fine. I've been there multiple times - HIGHLY RECOMMEND

V. C.A few years ago when a black cab reversed into my rear wheel and buckled it, the guys at Paradise Cycles only charged me for the replacement part and didn't charge for their labour. I keep going back to them to get my bike serviced.

Instead the guy who worked there (who I’m pretty sure was about to take a break as he’d come outside) asked what I needed, then went straight back in and got his tool and tightened the chain there and then, didn’t ask for a penny. b.In a time where every bike shop in east london seems completely overwhelmed, I had expected to be turned away like I have in many other places. I got here early and there was a bit of waiting but was seen to relatively quickly. They sorted out two of my issues really quickly and sent be back on the road within the hour, including the waiting. Brilliant service by them. They are terribly busy but have got a queuing system outside so only one person was allowed in the shop. I felt safely distanced from everyone throughout. Would 100% recommend these guys.

K. D.I just got back from the Paradise Cycles workshop and they could not impress me more. Long story, sorry. My bike is over 50 years old, rusty, rattling, but with pretty new tyres, so I didn't want to throw it in the canal as yet. Some bike shops didn't even want to look at my bike and one competitor actually sent me to Paradise. They had a quick look, couldn't really estimate the price as my chain is all covered, there was a risk they will need to order parts from Holland as it is of unusual size, but they happily took a bike and said they will fix it somehow. So I got a phone call 12 hour later saying my bike has been fixed for a tiny money. Literally. They put one small cheap part in, adjusted the rest and charged me next to nothing for something that made my old bike ride like new. All in all, I am very impressed with their honesty, speed of service, pricing, communication and quality of work. I had to queue to get into the shop, and now I understand why. The best bike shop I came across.

H. J.Fantastic small bike shop. Extremely helpful staff, amazing stock, very reasonable prices. When cyclists talk about supporting their "LBS", this is what they mean (if they are lucky). I do most of my own repairs, and they are always ready to do the bits I can't manage, give free advice and stock unusual parts, but I regularly see them doing jobs for those who prefer to just get on and ride. Open late. I should also add: never patronising (should be the norm, but all too rare).

I recently bought a new (secondhand) bike and brought it into the shop for a check. Louis thoroughly went through everything and discovered that something was missing inside the wheel. The issue was not fixable and Louise honestly explained to me that replacing the old wheel would be more expensive than the bike. Thanks to Louis, I was able to return the bike and get my money back from the seller. Paradise cycles do not charge anything if they are not able to fix it - this place is all about great passion for bikes and good customer service. I just love this place! :)

H.Expect nothing but the love on your bike! whilst watching from the outside queue, I witnessed a bike engineer test at least three times, placing the wheel on and off some clamp like equipment, to check, what I guess would be the equivalent of wheel balancing on a car after installing a new tyre.
I came down to buy a tube for my hybrid bike and had some questions on fixing my classic racer, but ended up receiving more than I paid for. The manager personally handled my query and offered me cost effective purchases.. to top it off, after overhearing I was in the teaching profession, he kindly offered me a discount!!
All staff managed to give me a nod hello and it was a first for me under Covid after visiting so many bike shops... I've been helping out a number of relatives buying and fixing bikes. Clap for paradise bikes 👏 👏 lol.

S.I visited Paradise Cycles 48hrs before lockdown began in March wanting to check my rarely used Brompton was ok should the country go into lockdown. The owner Louis could not have been more helpful or reassuring at an anxious time. I am a female, amateur cyclist that just enjoys an occasional cycle on the canals - many independent cycling shops in London can feel intimidating and cliquey to female customers amidst the lycra and testosterone, Paradise Cycles makes everyone feel welcome no matter their query or level of cycling. I was convinced I needed new tires, and instead of ripping me off (I would never have known!) with unnecessary new tires Louis and the team did a safety check for me, topped up the tires with air for free and the bike was good as new. This gesture of kindness goes a long way and sums up the spirit of this excellent cycling shop and means I'll now never use Halfords or Amazon again. Keep up the brilliant work as fantastic independent business helping the local community:-) FYI I live in Stratford and this is the nearest cycling shop to E15 and E7 so do go it's worth it! P. P.I enquired about a bike they just got in stock, without hesitation Louie said he’d make one up for me to try out.
After a bit of a hitch, Louie owned the issue and really went above and beyond to sort it out and I got to try out a day later.
Turned up the next day and waited a short time, but saying that, I was entertained watching them repair and interact with customers.
Marco sorted me out and made sure the bike was adjusted for me. He sent me out to try out the bike, get used to it and make further adjustments.
Marco made sure I was confident and road ready.
Service is personalised, and hats off to these guys for their passion and service.

A. G.Just received an old bike from my grandad, and spent the whole of yesterday trying to clean it up while thinking of where I could go to fix it as the tire was busted. Found this place online, was surprised by the perfect reviews not expecting anywhere to be this good but after visiting I can now see why. I wish I would of asked for the 2 guys names as they were both great. I explained that I'm learning how to ride ( I know its taken a while haha) and the gentleman explained how its great that I'm practising, gave me great tips, showed me how to fit an inner tube and tyre and exllained how the 21 speed gear system works ( didnt even know it was 21 only thought it was 7 haha) and recommended I get a puncture repair kit and watch some videos to practice online. He only changed one tire as he said the other was still perfect which was brilliant, some places would tell you you need both regardless. Anyway, brilliant shop, great guys who are clearly very passionate about bikes and know exactly what there doing and extremely helpful with tips and advice. I will 100% be going there again in the future. My new bike shop!!!!

Came back after lunch and they'd fixed my gear cabling and tightened my brakes and pumped both tyres. They were really fun and friendly and very reasonably priced. Top notch bike workshop! For example, on three occasions now they've worked hard to have various repair jobs ready before the initial ETA owing to my need of the bike for commuting, even at peak times of busyness. When I get my bike back, regardless of the job, the tires are pumped, the brakes are tuned, the chain is lubricated, it feels like it's had a basic service, and best of all they never try and stuff unnecessary or unwanted extras down your throat. B. S.I cannot recommend these guys highly enough. I took in a beloved but battered old bike, along with a list of my slightly niche requirements, and a pretty tight budget. Louis and co salvaged what they could, hunted around for parts - second hand and new - to fit my budget, explaining the trade offs and the process patiently and clearly. The whole process was a pleasure thanks to their expertise and honesty and hard graft and quality banter. And my new bike rides so smoothly it's delicious. :)

The Paradise Cycles said right away they could do it within a day and for less than £30. I was ready to buy a new bike until I walked into this shop. Talked to several guys and they're all passionate about bikes and very genuine and friendly. Get your bike fixed here, even if you have to come from the other side of town.

J. C.I tried to fix up the brakes on my trusty steed this week but made a hames of it. Two colleagues separately told me to go to @ParadiseCyclesLondon. I am ashamed to say that in my haste/laziness I went to a major chain store. When I got there the mechanic made fun of my bike, quoted me £50 and told me it would take a week. I took my bike and walked to Paradise. Louis looked at my bike he didn’t make fun of it or judge my ignorance and considered the most cost effective option. He explained in a properly informative way what was wrong and how he would fix it. He told me it would be done next day. He charged me half what the major retailer quoted. When I picked it up he had given it a service and an oil and then knocked a fiver off some new grips for absolutely no reason. When I was leaving a lady was coming in with two kids who needed a saddle adjusted and they were super nice and friendly to the lady and the kids. Paradise Cycles are good people. Please spend your money in their shop!

When I arrived to collect the bike it was clear they were still putting it together and I stupidly watched the rushed and, ultimately, botched job without doing anything about it. While it rode well the first couple of days I knew things weren’t quite right and that I needed help! I popped in to Paradise Cycles today on the off chance they had time to look at the bike. Came back a few hours later to be only charged £20 - told that I didn't need new parts for a few months (which was pretty honest) and that they were not prepared to charge me any more. Best bit - the bike rides like I just bought it. Will be back very soon :-D

Having arrived without an appointment, sopping wet from a hailstorm, the lads at Paradise, immediately helped with selecting the right size inner-tube for my Brompton and proceeded to fix my puncture without having to wait. They even corrected an issue I had with my front forks and front wheel brakes. Can’t recommend Paradise enough. If you live in Hackney or Tower Hamlets, pay them a visit.

I can not speak highly enough of paradise cycles and the guys working there! Popped in yesterday during a long ride, with a few broken spokes they took the time and genuinely went above and beyond to send me on my way! They noticed that some other damage had occurred to other spokes and replaced them all at a great price and quickly too!
I would only ever go to this shop if I lived in london!
The fact that I live so far away I will book an appointment first but will definitely go back there. The guys working there were knowledgeable, friendly, professional and all the other superlatives.

Louis and his team located a matching frame on ebay and used as many parts of the old bike as possible. It all turned out a bit more complicated than expected but the communication was always there and the price charged for the work done very fair. The bike rides better than before. Only downside: we were going for a Frankenbike look with fork , seat and handlebar in one colour and the frame a different one as kind of a mismatched ugly bike theft deterrent. Well the the whole thing looks even more nickable now.

My emergency puncture repair was attended to yesterday evening instantaneously meaning I could whizz from my NHS job (and yes that got me a discount!) to family caring responsibilities. However it was not just the speed, diligence (picking out all the potential culprit shards of glass in the tyre, missed by a large chain bike shop earlier in the day) and discount; this bike shop is clearly at the hub (sorry about these dreadful puns) of the community. Everyone is greeted as a friend and it's clear many customers ARE now old friends. I am still smiling from the experience.
