These guys are not only passionate about what they do, these guys turn around bikes in a fast, efficient and cost effective way... they have just rebuild 2 bikes and built me a new bike out of old parts in a week... with a friendly manner and knowledgeable understanding of the customers needs and budget.... I hope these guys continue to expand and reap the rewards they deserve for the service given.... Big brands could learn alot from this team of bike wizards.... thank you Mark, Charlie, Lewis for sorting our family bikes out.... 100% better than halfords...

Mark and the team are so knowledgeable and friendly - I've had repairs and advice off them several times, they are always reasonably priced and offer a quick turnaround.

As a new cyclist this place has been so helpful with all my questions. They’ve given good advice when I’ve had a problem with my bike. So helpful when I’ve bought parts and the DIY areas are amazing, no charge and with tools there to use, pump up tyres etc. Hard to understand that some users actually steal tools that are offered free for community use. 😩

The staff here are highly knowledgeable and helpful! My bike has gone through various upgrades and repairs and they have always been quick in getting it going again. Lots of advice and information gained from the staff here, and the prices here are good given how fast I have been able to receive my bike (often on the same day if dropped off early in the morning). Very helpful, skilled staff - would certainly recommend!

I find myself visiting Dr bike more often that I would like. Two things in particular make it so good: First, the staff is unlike anywhere else. They always give great advice when I work on my vintage beauty and don't interfere unless you ask them. There's no sense of trying to sell product or service on their behalf and they seem genuinely interested in solving whatever bike problems. Second, it's very well stocked and actually cheaper than ordering from, say, amazon usually. In addition, there is a bunch of used parts ideal for vintage bikes that they can and do sort you out with for pennies. Hats off to Dr Bike and thanks very much for all you do for the uea bike community!

Very "get your hands dirty" experience: idea is that you fix your own bike with team's professional guidance! The team helped me to assemble my bike from scratch, charged nothing and in the meanwhile offered increrible tips and advices so I could fix a bike myself next time... Undoubtedly the best bicycle shop experience I have ever had, and I have seen many shops in my life!

An useful and friendly place to get your bicycle repaired. If you want to do some DIY without any cost, there is place just outside the shop with all the tools placed on wall. The bicycle spare parts available at the shop and staffs are very friendly and attentive.

Helpful beyond the call of duty. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Prices for some parts are very competitive, particularly wheels. A couple of years ago what I thought was a problem with my bottom bracket (a well-known shop in the city quoted £49 for a new bottom bracket) turned out to be something else entirely and I was charged only a nominal fee.

Really pleased! NBRC is conveniently on campus and the staff are always helpful. I've brought my bike in sometimes within minor niggles, sometimes for a full service, and they've sorted me out with minimum of fuss - and more cheaply than certain other bike shops. Recommend!

Brought in my bike with rear wheel broken and tyre exploded due to vandalism. The team at Dr Bike carried out an assessment of the bike free of charge. They then went beyond what can be expected to repair it quickly. The pricing was transparent and reasonable. Would recommend to UEA students and staff. P.S.: Dr Bike is a "cooperative", a business co-owned by the workers. I think that might be one reason for the honest and friendly atmosphere at the workshop.

A few years ago I gave Dr Bike a try, because of their convenient location. I have been getting my bike serviced by Dr Bike exclusively ever since. They definitely provide services at a fair price. They don't sell you the things you don't need. Another bike shop at one point kept trying to sell me a new front chain ring, but Mark told me to keep my old one. They are also very fast at fixing minor problems. At one point my bike kept having loose bottom bracket, I remember keep having to make appointment with another bike shop. With Dr Bike, they fix your that problem on the spot, and it never happened again. Everyone in the shop is friendly. Mark is definitely a greater than life person with lots of interesting stories. Sue is really good at truing wheel and building new wheels. EDIT: I went to Dr Bike about a month ago, because a component in my bike's mech got fractured. Rather than replacing the whole mech, Sue decided to salvage another mech which was broken in another place, and combine it with my bike's mech. This way I didn't need to buy a new mech. I was totally prepared for a new mech. They try really hard to save you money. I have prompted them multiple time asking them if it is necessary to replace my mech in the past, they always manage to find some reason to save it. They are truly miracle workers. Dr Bike definitely has their customers in mind. I suppose the only thing you need to think about is whether or not you like new components - you never know how long your old components will last with random fixes. Don't be afraid of spending more money with Dr Bike. Dr Bike will definitely try their best and do crazy fixes to help you save money in short term. They definitely go above and beyond. However, in long term, those crazy fixes might end up costing you more, simply because those components that get fixed are too worn out. I am a student myself, so I really appreciate the effort Dr Bike put in, in order to fix my poor mech. However, in hindsight, I probably should have insisted to spend more money with Dr Bike early on. Definite 5*, highly recommend.
