I was on a cycling holiday at Ferry Meadows caravan site, on our first day I noticed my headset was loose on my Cube reaction, the headset cap had split. I took the old cap to Rutland Cycling to see if they had a replacement, when I walked in the guys there were so welcoming and friendly. I showed one of the staff my old cap and in 5 minutes he had found one for me, just to show that there are generous people out there they didn't even charge me for it!! The cap fitted well and was better than the original plastic one, saved my holiday!👌 I had a look around and what a shop, it had everything you could want. It was well stocked and had quality items. I will definitely visit before I go back home! Thanks guys👌👍👍

The Peterborough work shop is great! I brought my bike in to have the gears repaired with the understanding that they did not have an opening for about 2.5 weeks, but the repairman said he would fit me in right there and then since it was an easy repair to replace the gear cable. He was very friendly and knowledable and had my bike roadworthy in less than 45 minutes! And it was very affordable (no extra charge for doing it on the spot either!). Such great customer service and will always be going to them in future.

Recently bought a bike from Rutland at Peterborough, service was great. Arranged test rides and offered good advice. At no point was I pressured, whole experience very relaxing. Had the bike a month when a part failure happened (rear cassette failed) bought it straight in. Uldis and Tom couldn't have been more helpful. Put a new cassette (upgraded) on within 30 minutes. I was so pleased, these guys were absolutely great. I Highly recommend them.

What a great shop, the guys in here are so helpful if they haven’t got it in stock they order it in. Drove from North Lincs for a first ever saddle fit on my Trek Domane which I have had for 2 years and 2 saddles with pain from the instant I leave my front door. Uldis is a genius and immediately could see my seat bones were quite wide and after the proper measurement taken and I think 4 saddles tried out it was looking better. Not only that, he setup my cleats properly, inverted the bike handlerbar stem to get me in a better position and today, along with new, thinner tires, first road test on my usual route. Amazing difference. More power, less discomfort, will take getting used to the firmer, fitted new saddle, but big impact on my entire cycling experience. I did move the saddle forward a couple of mm, but small tweaks only. Will be back when money allows to see what other magic he can do to my position. Many thanks !

It’s rare to experience this level of service anywhere. The guys at Rutland Cycles can’t do enough for you and go above and beyond to look after you. I had the absolute pleasure to visit the cycling centre a couple of times very recently and nothing was too much trouble for Uldis who patiently helped me with an issue with my bike. After sorting my problem out which involves taking the stem apart, re-seating the bearings, washers, fitting the expander bolt in the stem and finding me a new cap to fix everything in place; the total cost - NOTHING. I offered to pay something, Uldis insisted it wasn’t a problem and then suggested I let him pump my tyres up a little more. To say I was impressed is an understatement, and I guess the true cost of my experience is my loyalty, which they have. Whatever I need for my cycling hobby, I guess I now owe it to Rutland Cycling to make them my first port of call. This is what supporting independent businesses is all about, the least I can do.

These guys are sensational in every way. Cheerful, positive and three exceptional members on the team. Uldis is a first class fitter and customer orientated staff member, always helpful interested in perfecting my triathlon bike fit. Kam and Joshua in the workshop are also very focussed on getting the bike right. I went out for a ride this morning and my bike was awful so I rode in on spec. After a chain and cassette change, all done within 2/3 hours and my bike is literally like new. Thanks Joshua you are superb. My bike is running like a swiss watch now and it was a bag of bones previously. Cannot commend them enough.

I bought (online) Specialized 27.5 Mountain Bike for my wife. The order was promptly serviced by RUTLAND Peterborough who swiftly got my bike built and ready for collection the next day. There was a glitch on the website while I tried to order initially but it was sorted out, special mention to Mr. Kamil Senderek manager who was on the case and went a step more to ensure (am a returning customer-Bought my Giant Talon 29er form Rutland PBO last year) my issues with ordering was promptly rectified, was in touch by email and ensured everything was ok .special thanks to him for the side stand. I felt I had to contact you regarding the excellent service I have received from your Peterborough store this week. I visited the store on Tuesday and met with Ian regarding an issue I had with hand numbness riding a bike i purchased from you earlier this year. Picked up 2 bikes with loads of accessories. Ian, Gage and his team could not have been more helpful. If there was an example as why we need real people in shops - this was it. Bikes were set up for us individually, cleats fitted to shoes and even helped to fit the bikes properly on our Thule bike carrier. It seems that there's a wealth of experience at Rutland to get you on your way quickly and to get the most out of your gear. Even had time to setup air pressure on our front shocks. I reflected that there was absolutely no point trying to save a few $$ by shopping around across many websites when you get this level of service. thank you guys.

I recently bought my new e-bike from Rutland Cycles in Peterborough. From my very first visit to the store the politeness, product knowledge and customer service have all been excellent. I didn't know anything about e-bikes, but Uldis explained everything I needed to know to enable me to make the right choice. At no point did I feel he was pushing one e-bike over another, he simply pointed out the differences between the various bikes and helped me to match one to my requirements. I must also mention James who I've spoken to on the phone and who looked after me when I went back to collect my bike. Again, the customer service was excellent. I've not been too well recently and James even offered to pop the bike in the van and deliver it to my house. I cannot recommend Ruthland Cycling at Peterborough highly enough. I cannot recommend Rutland Cycling in Peterborough enough. I have very little knowledge about bikes and accessories and really needed someone to provide me with some good advice before I invest. Bought a Canyon Neuron 6 MTB and had Rutland Cycles assemble parts. Did an excellent job and gave great advice on several aspects of off road biking. Within 3 months the pedal fell off and Rutland cycles assessed the problem and confirmed it was down to the manufacturers poor assembly. James & Sam emailed me confirming it should be covered under warranty which i sent on to Canyon who admitted liability and paid for replacement which James refitted for me. He also identified that the damage to the frame (Chain Stay) was caused by this assembly problem which Canyon have agreed. I'm in the throws of negotiating a settlement with Canyon and just want to say i couldn't have done any of this without the help and assistance from Rutland Cycles. The service has been first class and for all there time it just cost £11 to refit the new Chain Set. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending them and only wish they could have sold me the bike initially. I bought an electric bike from the Peterborough store at the back end of 2020, literally walked in the day after stock arrived, sorted out paperwork and collected 5 days later through cycletowork scheme. Then in early January went in to look at electric bike for the Mrs and Chris came over to help. Answered both our questions, gave her a test ride, and even changed our mind on model which was immediately put out the back for us. Paperwork sorted with deposit and arranged collection about 10 days later, bike was ready in 5 days. Chris even ordered in extra panniers that would fit the bike specifically for us rather than needing to add a bracket. Picked the bike up and great service on the day, couldn't do enough for us. I purchased a bike at the Peterborugh Shop of Rutland Cycling in March 2017. I also purchased a bike fit which was carried out by an expert called Uldis. This made a big difference. Since then I have really enjoyed riding my Specialised Tarmac Pro regularly 3/4 times a week and can also recommend this bike model and the bike fit. However what has impressed me most of all is the after Sale Service that this shop provides. They are always ready to help and give answers to queries quickly and informatively. Almost three and a half years has gone passed since I bought my Tarmac Pro but over the last two weeks I needed advice and help regarding my bike. I can only commend Chris the deputy store manager and both his colleagues James and Luke for all the excellent help they have given me over the last two weeks. I am in debted to you all and I thank you all very much once again. When I need a new bike this bike shop, Rutland Cycling Peterborough, will be the only place I will go to for my purchase.

Bought my bike (Orange - Clockwork S137) through them for a very reasonable price (£450 off RRP). After 9 days I managed to shear the inner thread of my drive foot crank. I was gutted to say the least! I took my bike back to Rutland Cycling and they couldn't have been more helpful. Unfortunately, it was not a part held under warranty, and they didn't have any replacements in stock. However, after seeing how distraught I was the guys and the manager really helped me out by getting one of the premade display bikes and taking it off that to help me get back on the road. This was really appreciated as it was 2 days before Christmas and therefore delivery would be slow and I wanted to get out over the holidays. The prices can be reasonable when on sale, however, I have found that their customer service is where they excel! In particular Sam H put up with my nonsense and was nothing but polite and helpful! Thank you guys! You will definitely see me again when I need things!

Excellent Customer Service On arrival spoke with Kurt, the Manager, who was extremely helpful, friendly, polite and professional. Had a Professional Bike Fit with Uldis, who was excellent. Very comprehensive service, helpful advice and as Uldis is a very keen, and I suspect good, cyclist he knows what he is talking about and what he says makes absolute sense. After getting my measurements and checking my fitness he took time to accurately measure my bike to ensure the perfect fit for me. All with the aid of sensors and computers so as well as feeling right you can be sure it is measured correctly. As he explained, I now need to have a few rides before going back for the final adjustments that may be needed. Very impressive service and well worth spending the time and money to ensure your bike is set up perfectly for you. I was having a few pains after a long ride which was almost certainly due to how I had my bike set up. No pain after this mornings long ride so if it saves on Physio bills it is well worth the investment.

Not only was bike ready for collection, Kurt gave friendly advice, adjusted seat height, transferred old front mudguard from old 14 year old Giant Cypress bike (bought from you in 2003) to new bike, removed new seat and replaced it with my old comfortable one, and even supplied a bolt for my pannier to replace one which shredded on removal. All in all 5* service from a thoroughly nice friendly knowledgeable and amusing man. Thanks Kurt!" Again another review from my husband. He spotted that the gear cables was badly worn and immediately contacted me to advise having new ones fitted. The pads that were supplied to me by the manufacturer were incorrect. I cannot recommend Rutland Cycles too highly - I don’t live in the U.K. and they absolutely bent over backwards to make sure I got what I wanted - I bought a cube electric bike, I have arthritis in my hips and had come to the point where cycling was not an option for me anymore because I live in a very hilly region- We went to Rutland to have a look at electric bikes, Ian pulled out bike after bike for us to try and spent a good amount of time going through each bike - I originally ordered the bike I thought was for me but it wasn’t right and I changed my mind, again this was no problem, they changed my order and got the cube for me - 100% for customer service, not just Ian but all the staff - it’s old fashioned customer service which is sadly lacking in his age of buying on line - take my advice go and see them and don’t buy on line 😁

I have used RC Peterborough for about three years now and always had good service . But I would like to especially mention the service I have received this week. I was looking to purchase an ebike and was told to speak to Kurt. Well his service was 10 out of 10. He gave excellent advice and spent a total of 2 and half hours with me going over different types of motors, specific maintenance that will be needed for an ebike, let me try about 6 bikes (even got one sent to store and built so I could see what that was like) to get the feel of them,and what would be suitable choices for my needs. There was no hard sell and I felt all the time it was about my needs and not the "let's see how much we can get him to spend" in the end I found the ideal bike and and had a few extras added and still got a good spec bike. What can i say, found the bike i wanted at 2 local stores in london but it was the last one in the shop, having sat on it in both shops they had told me it's a perfect size even though when standing i was actually sitting on the top tube, i felt rushed and they just wanted to get rid of the bike as it was old stock. i spoke to Rutlands as they had the same bike but was a lot cheaper and i explained my experience with the other 2 shops (and one was a major retailer), Uldis told me to buy the bike (again this was the last one) and to pop in for fitment and if the bike was wrong i would get a full refund if i chose to. i agreed and when arrived my new bike was built and ready for me to be fitted. Uldis experience as a professional cyclist served him well and he was not a typical salesman. we spent some time being measured etc and the conclusion was that this bike was to big. Uldis found me a bike online but was not in the shop, however they had the same bike lower spec 2018my which he spent more time having me fitted to that bike, he then ordered my bike and it was built to the measurements as we had agreed. i felt comfortable, not pressured and welcomed in the shop. its an hour and half drive for me but well worth the journey. Thank you Uldis and Rutland peterborough team for a great service.

Spent a while reviewing bikes and decided to purchase one online from Rutland. For me, it’s a large purchase and not pocket money! So I wanted to make sure it was the right bike. All started off really well! Fantastic customer service from Kurt in the Peterborough store, really went above and beyond and I was so excited. Sadly Kurt was off the next time I made contact and the guy I dealt with left me close to tears. I would’ve liked to have put a 5 star review but I was very close to cancelling the whole order! Never have I ever been spoken to in such a way when simply enquiring about an address change. All was needed was for him to say ‘we would need proof of address if you would like to change the delivery address now the purchase has gone theough’ Rather than a 25 minute phone call speaking over me at every chance ‘speculating’ and ‘assuming’ outcomes. He was very passive aggressive and after I had eventually had enough I said just forget the whole thing, he put the phone down on me. Called me back five minutes later, advised me that I’d need a proof of address to change the address, I said it didn’t matter. He guaranteed delivery for Thursday when previously being adament this was not possible. Then added he’s thrown in some pedals for the trouble; obviously he knew he shouldn’t have spoken to me the way he did! I was willing to spend more money on pedals, new helmet and some clothing but I don’t think I’ll deal with Rutland again.

Okay newbie to the world of road bikes and distance riding ... however recent health scare has made me look for something to get fitter I have enjoyed watching the tours and also the triathlon (no not swimming or running anytime soon) so bike seemed the perfect fit. Plus got challenged to do a 100 mile ride in six months... I live minutes away from rutland cycles and went in yesterday to explore options step in Ian knowledgeable similar age (50+) made me feel confident about what I wanted yes some trepidation but went back today and bought my first road bike and all the kit ... worth every penny. Okay clip in pedals mastered in moments seriously do not over think this option it is so simple your feet stay in the right place and on my first blast really felt the benefits so give it a go just listen to instructions try it a few times in the car park and engage brain before hitting the road. Now looking forward to my 100 mile challenge off tomorrow for first proper run out looking forward to putting some miles on these tyres. Not often that I give 5 stars for anything but Rutland Cycles deserve every one of them! I bought a lovely Bianchi from them back in November and the service and buying experience was excellent. Uldis was really knowledgeable (but without being opinionated), and gave me some great advice on model options...and trial rides around the park helped greatly. I actually went in to buy an Intenso/Infinito but walked away with an Oltre...which was the perfect choice. When I went to collect the bike it was well setup and Uldis helped me with a mini bikefit, all part of the service. 👍

Having spent some time describing different kinds of bikes at your shop, Lorcan explained how I could hire a bike from the centre in Nene Park. I have to say how helpful Lorcan was, even though he knew I would not be spending any money at the shop. The young chap at the hire centre (sorry, I can't remember his name) was also very helpful, and found me the right bike. I haven't ridden a cycle in many years, and I thoroughly enjoyed my short ride around Nene Park.

The staff was very helpful, and patient with foreigners (us) who had to look up their UK phone numbers and hotel addresses. The bikes we got were in great condition and fit us well. No kickstands, which was a little odd, but maybe it's a British thing. I recommend biking around the park using the map they provide rather than going off on an adventure like we did. If you DO decide to go on a biking adventure, keep in mind that GPS can be confusing when you're on a bike and everything will take longer than you think. If you do overextend yourself, the local trains have a space for bikes, and two bikes will fit into a Mercedes taxi. Do get the bikes back before the shop closes; the staff has things to do and shouldn't have to wait around for crazy customers who underestimate the amount of time it takes to return to the shop. (Very sorry about that!)
