The service at Evans Cycles in Plymouth was fantastic and I have no hesitation in writing this review. Rit was so helpful and kept me informed at every step of the way. When I needed a specialist part he helped in sourcing a supplier and when the work had been completed, he took the time to explain what had been done and why, along with some tips for future riding. He most definitely went out of his way to help the customer and is a huge ambassador for Evans Cycles. Although getting into Evans Cycles is more inconvenient for me than using other cycle shops/repairers, I will not consider going anywhere else now because of the service that Rit provided. Highly recommended.

Zack fitted a bike rack for me while I waited (late on Saturday afternoon) - it turned out to be a more complicated job than initially thought as it was a difficult fit, but he persevered - all for no extra charge. I recently had to drop my bike in at the Plymouth branch to be repaired due to a small accident I had coming into work. I dropped it into them on the Wednesday morning and within less than an hour they rang me with what the issues were are an email with links to parts to order and a breakdown. When the parts arrived this afternoon (Saturday) I dropped them off at 2pm and by 4.30pm the bike was ready! Can't believe the excellent service I've had and the speed in which they carried it out! Came in this morning with a broken handlebar on my roadbike, the staff were amazing and let me borrow a multitool without even making a purchase to quickly fix it up before i had to get into college. Even better, the bike technician saw my problem, came up to me and completely sorted it out for me for nothing ( while giving me great advice about future bikes and my bike maintenance) ! I couldnt recommend this shop more and a massive thank you to all the staff :)

I received first class service at Evans Cycles in Plymouth. This Christmas I bought two new bikes for my children (from a different retailer!) but found it difficult to set them up perfectly. I was really keen to make sure they were set up well & safely so took the bikes into Evans Cycles for them to give them a once over. Within minutes they had sorted the bikes and they were ready to ride. My children were very happy! This did not feel at any point a chore and there was no charge! Took my sons bike in to Evans Cycle today as had an issue with the front brakes. My son uses the bike to commute to work and as he is a key worker this is really important at the moment. The shop is well prepared/organised for social distancing which made me feel safe. The mechanic (unfortunately didn’t catch his name) which served me couldn’t be more helpful and fixed the bike there and then, with no charge! You rarely get this type of service these days but would fully recommend and will always use in the future. Also whilst watching him work on the bike, these guys know there stuff, very impressed, big thumbs up Evans Cycles, well done and thank you.

The staff at Evans Plymouth are always helpful and friendly, but during lockdown their service has been exceptional. I was more than happy to pay for a service when my bike developed an issue with my gears, but they insisted that as a key worker that I get a free MOT. I have seen them bend over backwards to help every customer that has come into the store, whilst maintaining social distancing. Can not commend them highly enough.

Have used them fairly regularly for the last 5 years; I'm now leaving the city, but I'll miss that store. Good service, good advice. In my view the tell-tale sign of a good bicycle shop is when there's a problem after a repair (this has to happen sometimes), so you go back, and they solve the problem for free. In Plymouth, I've twice had problems after repairs. Once at another bicycle shop which I won't name ("how do we know you didn't damage your bike again in the two days since the repair?"), which is why I switched to Evans. And once at Evans, which is why I'm writing this 5 stars review.

Staff at the Plymouth store, I love you! So many times have walked in with a broken bike and been out the door same day, same hour, all fixed up. Often for an embarrassingly small fee. Helpful staff who know their work and seem happy in it. Good product range and prices. First-stop bikeshop for me in this town, and as a 3 yr Roo veteran, I've been around!

I used to love shopping at this store and happily spent thousands. The mechanics are skilled, Tom the manager was always a great help and an asset to the firm. However, on spending £70 in this store, I was fraudulently given a £160 fine by Britannia Parking. As a result (plus the head office response), I will NEVER spend another penny in ANY Evans Cycles nationally, EVER again. Britannia are a criminal enterprise and retailers (or rather the land owners, however this is now a distinction without a difference) are facilitating their actions. A real shame, but the online and local alternatives make this an easy decision.

My wife recently purchased an ebike from Evans Plymouth on recommendation, as part of rehab and physio for an injury. Having not ridden for a number of years it was a big decision but well worth it. Tom was extremely helpful providing sound advice, with regard to fitting, sizing and getting the right bike, value for money, in line with what she wanted to achieve, even down to the helmet accessories. She has used it every day for her daily exercise and absolutely loves it. Money very well spent and an absolutely brilliant service, from staff with knowledge and good old fashion interpersonal skills. Thankyou Tom and Rich, when the stock levels are up, I will be back to upgrade my bike.

I have used Evans Cycles in Plymouth for a number of years, both when buying bikes and accesories. The reception is always warm and welcoming, whichever member of the team you engage with. I always find their approach to advice quite refreshing as it's based around your need, rather than trying to upsell to the most premium products, which some of the other major chains are often guilty off. Tom has been a regular face over the years, who always goes above and beyond expectations. A real asset to the store. I recently went in having suffered some damage to my road bike expecting to have to book it in or leave it with them, only for him to turn it around with an hour. Exceptional service and great value for money.

Had a gearing problem with my old Pinnacle Stratus bike - the member of staff was above and beyond helpful and discovered the fault quickly and then proceeded to repair the fault (a bent hanger for the derailleur) with expertise. I have repeatedly been to the shop for few biking accessories (which some of the guys have tried and tested themselves and gave good recommendations) and I used "click and collect" which was very good for items which were not in the shop in the exact size.

Wow i can not belive what happened today. I went to Evans cycles to get a new seat for a bike i am borrowing. After explaining to the young man that i was only borrowing the bike from a freind he stated that i would also need a bar to go with the seat. The young man came out with another seat for the bike he then fitted it for me. I thanked him for fitting and asked how much it was. To my amazement he said its free as it was kicking about the workshop. Clearly someone who wants to see more people using bikes and i believe nothing to do with covid-19 either. Popped in to get my new bike setup e.g ride height etc....... Dan the mechanic was very knowledgeable and set my bike up to suit my height. All done for free, I didn’t even by the bike from them. From a customer service point of view they exceeded my expectations. If you want a 17 year old spotty kid who doesn’t know his stuff go to Halfords. If you want knowledgable staff where nothing is too much trouble go to Evans. Oh they even cut my seat post to the right height. 5star service don’t go elsewhere!

shop is very nice, better than halfords i think. i am new to the mountain biking, so i wanted to get a new bike but i do not know much about specs and different types of MBs. the staff didnt feel confident in explaining the different frames, brakes, wheel sizes and other specification. So i went home and done my own research. the people were polite and treated me with respect and i was able to look in the shop without interruptions. And for the time i was inside i could see a few people coming in and out with their bike for servicing, and they left with a positive outcome. I would recommend to use this shop. Have often popped in after work when they are about to close, but the staff still give adequate time even tho it's their time to log off. Really dry impressed with the Plymouth branch of Evans service engineer when we took our two bikes in for a service. Excellent service from Got they looked like new, had been thoroughly cleaned and all the rust marks gone. New chains and brake pads, we didn't know why they were making creaking noises but turns out the previous shop fitted the chains the wrong way. Very helpful friendly and knowledgeable service. Would definitely recommend
