Very knowledgable and helpful and obviously keen to ensure we bought the right bike that was suitable for current and future needs rather than just making a sale. In addition he completely got how our daughter was feeling and understood what she needed without judgement. He was encouraging and spoke to her on her level whilst also being aware and patient when she needed space to think and try the bikes without an audience. Despite it being a busy morning with other customers we didn't feel rushed or pressured in any way. We came away with a great secondhand bike that we are hopeful will help her overcome her confidence issues and get her riding but that didn't break the bank. I would definitely recommend you check out this shop as the service is so much more personalised and tailored than the big shops. We will certainly return for any future bike purchases.

C. D.After looking for some cycle gear at some larger retailers and not having much luck due to poor choice and poor service I stopped in to have a quick look. The bloke in the shop greeted me straight away and asked me what I was after. After telling him what I was after he then spent the time telling me all the options available. I was really blown away with service I received and walked out a very happy shopper. Going forward this will be the first place I will go for any cycling gear and services. Keep up the great work.
A. S.Excellent work, service and value. I went to Halfords with my folding electric bike which needed a fair bit of work. After 15 minutes of head shaking & pained expressions I was told to come back and show the mechanic who would only be in while I was at work. I emailed Simon at Rotec and he said he thought it would be OK and to bring it in. He's very knowledgeable and friendly and the bike was made good as new, on time and under the quoted amount. Support this first rate, independent, local business and have an excellent customer experience - it's pure win-win.

N. S.I have been in twice now with absolutely no notice - both flats - and Rotec have bent over backwards to help, in a friendly, efficient and very professional manner. Both times - although they had other bikes to work on - dealt with almost immediately so that I could get on my way (home, from work in Shinfield).
Not only that, as I ride a fixie with narrow tyres, I have often found that the larger stores do not stock the relevant tubes and/or tyres, which necessitates booking it in, basically unfeasible given my working hours with my bike as my only means of commute. Not a problem at Rotec.
Also worth mentioning that I wasn't upsold more expensive tyres, I asked for them for better puncture protection given the terrible state of Reading's roads! Also in stock 😊
All in all, a proper bike shop whose staff know their stuff! Highly recommended.

M.I was there twoj times and after first time I would recommend them for 100% but after second visit I would rate them as average shop and service cos they didn't manage to repair my RS Reverb, didn't set up my deralieur properly and lost safety bolt from rear axle after first ride. So I am being neutral here maybe when they were doing service to my bike were tired or something but I will not come back to this shop after that.

T. J.I was visiting family in the UK and made the last minute decision to pick up some new hubs for a wheel build. I looked at all the big bike shops, contacted quite a few, but only Rotec knew exactly what I was talking about and were able to order in the exact parts I needed in a very tight timeframe. I visited the shop to pick up my order and it's quite obviously a shop for cyclists by cyclists. Only thing I want to complain about is that their payment system didn't take any of my (perfectly good) Bali bank cards, which meant my dad had to pay. Thanks very much for that guys, still haven't heard the end of it! All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rotec, just don't bank in Indonesia, or bring cash...

D.After having bought a bike from Helfords to ride to work I soon realised there was an issue with the gear changing I tried to contact Helfords but was unable to talk to anyone I decided to take the bike back to see if they could fix it. But the members of staff wasn't very helpful and brushed me of with it needs to be run in I then contacted Rotec cycles and the guy explained how to fix the issue by simply telling me what to turn and tighten
