Gary and his team are fantastic - great knowledge, great service, always happy to help. They recently did the fit for my triathlon bike and I've been so much quicker. They also gave it a service and fitted my between the arms bottle mount and I was very pleased with how the bike felt. Great service and great value.

What a fantastic experience. Gary, Sam and Matt made me feel very welcome and got the bike ready to be tweaked in no time at all. I was utterly impressed by Gary's dedication and expertise to get my fitted 'just right' in every single way from my shoes up. I have learnt a lot today and I will be coming back with my road bike to have my positioned examined again. I can sit comfortably on my TT bike and put down more power that I could before and in a more efficient position. I recommend Gary & the team and G A Cycles to anyone.

Absolutely brilliant! I had my Road Bike 'serviced' only for it to be left with some issues - GA Cycles sorted out those issues and the bike rides better than ever. Always use a reputable bike mechanic and not random bloke who says he is a mechanic - chances are he isnt! GA Cycles also managed to fit me in even though they were snowed under. Thank you so much!

Friendly people working there. Had them change some parts on my bike, quality work. They told me that it would be a month due to lockdown, and made sure i was informed, and then the work was done quicker than they originally said. I will be using them again when the bike needs work or servicing.

Great shop and staff. Sorted out my road bike and did more than was asked. Great value for money. Really put themselves out to help. Always a waiting list to sort out any bike but worth the wait.

I have been to many bike shops both in London and Southampton. But I have never come across any shops like this one. The staff was thoroughly checking my bike and making adjustments to things that I didn't even notice. They went above and beyond to make sure my bike was safe to ride on the road. They were really friendly and highly qualified. I would definitely recommend you to come to these guys if you have ever issues with your bike! Zan

I was referred to GA Cycles this week and was so pleased I got in contact with them. Having planned to drop off my wheels in to have the bearings replaced, Gary and his colleague checked over the entire bike. It turns out the rear wheel rattle was caused by the cassette, which GA Cycles replaced while I waited. They also serviced my wheels, replaced a gear cable and insisted I checked the gears under load. Great customer service and knowledgeable staff. Thank you!!

I took my new Cannondale in for a bike fit. Gary came highly recommend from another bike shop. He spent over 3 hours completing the bike fit which produced some great results. Great advice and fab customer service!!

Was recommended GA cycles by my local bike workshop. I needed to update my very elderly (>20 years) hybrid, and was also getting back stiffness on longer rides. Initial measurements and discussion produced the type of bike best suited for me (aged 61, looking to cover decent distances comfortably). When the bike arrived the rest of the fit took a couple of hours and was extremely thorough, with Gary taking the lead and Matt very helpfully contributing too. Ensured must importantly for me that my forward lean was correct. Took the bike out today and covered 55 miles with no back problems and a very comfortable saddle too. Prices for a fit are comparable to what I have seen on the web. Highly recommended.

Best cycle repair centre in town with reasonable prices. Last week my shifter was changing rough though the bike has 2 months, went to GA cycle and the guys changed my chain and fixed the shifter and now the bike works better than new. Highly recomend them.

Gary very graciously, managed to fit me in on a Saturday morning after ringing first thing, to help me with a serious bike comfort issue after coming back from 8 years off, with a second hand bike I didn’t really know the history of. He instantly diagnosed a saddle width issue and then we proceeds to do a complete bike fit, adjusting pretty much everything on the bike and on the shoes/cleats. I’ll be following up with him after 400 miles to make some further adjustments. A great guy who’s well known amongst the local cyclists, who can be trusted to give the best advice to the cyclist rather than being self-interested like some other local bike shops can be.

But independent retailers like GA Cycles is by far the way to go, especially if you have a Cycle2Work voucher. I couldn't recommend this place more.

Just had completion of Bike fit, with Gary, concentrating on lower half having previously looked at everything from hips and above. Incredible attention to detail, looking at every single component/body joint, measurement after measurement, countless adjustments to the point of over correction to ascertain optimum positions. Fantastic service by Gary on a recent bike fit. There were several areas to sort out with my road bike due to various feet and leg problems which presented him with a challenge. I am now cycling problem free with cycling shoes and no pain; due to the fact of the thorough time spent by Gary ensuring every aspect was considered and rectified.

Highly recommended! I have just had an amazing bike fit session with Gary at GA cycles. I have been having some ankle problems due to an incorrect set up. Had Gary do my bike fit the other day; made to feel very welcome by all the staff members. Attention to detail was brilliant, I left with a perfectly fitted bike and a load of useful knowledge Gary passed on to help me out going forward. Two rides since, and setting pb’s without 100% efforts, bike handles brilliantly and gets the power down so easily. Would recommend anyone who hasn’t had a bike fit before to get Gary to do one, it’s made a bigger improvement to my riding than anything else has so far!

Absolutely top class service . Arrived here on a Saturday morning at opening time 9.am with rear wheel with one broken spoke. As I was desperate I asked if it would be possible to get repair done on the same day? They said they would do their best and took my phone number and said they would give me a call later. At 11.20 they phoned to tell me that repair was done and wheel was ready to pick up. This must be the best cycle shop in Southampton hands down,fantastic customer service with knowledgeable staff and very competent mechanics. Have recommended this shop to friends and will definitely use them again without hesitation. If I could give them 6 stars I would.

Been using these guys for a few years now. The only bike servicing shop in my view that want to look after you rather than spend your money ! Oh and I have used all the competitors. Very attentive and cheap rates. Had a problem with my BMC carbon frame but these guys rectified what I can only describe as a design flaw. Excellent with road bikes and mountain bikes, will be sticking with GA Cycles. I recommend them to friends and family.

GA Cycles where incredibly slow (>2 weeks) to get some basic servicing done, without ever warning me that would be the case. Pretty pricey too and they wanted to get a lot more out of me for non-essentials. The final result was good but I didn't feel like they respected me as a customer, or had the time to listen to where I A's coming from.

Gary and Matt are the best in business IMHO. Encyclopedic knowledge on all things le Velo, with applied patience of passion for what they do. I could stand all day an listen to their technical chatter but they kick me out at a price whereby I felt as if I'd robbed them. I won't ever be going anywhere else now, total faith in their service. I popped in here to pick-up some pretty mundane stuff (bike cleaning) and for some advice. The staff were great and the shop is really nicely stocked, not just with off-the-peg bikes, but with a fantastic range of accessories/parts etc. This has the feel of a shop trying to get you the most out of your bike, not just the most out of your wallet. The service was helpful and impartial - in contrast to my recent experience of bike shops which has been that they are staffed by condescending young men who can do little more than point at bikes and list the spec card. I will be adopting this as my LBS for the foreseeable future!

Great service , reasonably priced, took damaged bike in late afternoon, was ready to collect mid morning the next day. Very impressed .

Best bicycle shop there is, been using them for over a year now, if you need to replace your brake pads or change your chain they are always so helpfull even when they are busy, i have been to other bike shops and they always give it the were too busy cant do anything but not ga cycles, went in today and they quickly replaced my chain, indexed the gears and sorted out my suspension, a big thumbs up from me :)

I went to GA Cycles in Shirley on the off-chance that they might be able to get me some parts for an obscure old tandem. There were several staff all thinking about different ways around the problem, one of which involved them making a part! Eventually they worked out what would work and I bought all the parts (one of them was found in a box of obscure bits). I've fitted it and it works. Excellent shop and staff. I will be going back.

Amazing team always try to go the extra mile for you squeezed in a few rush jobs for me. The only bike shop I'd ever go to if they can't fix it no one can a+ service thanks guys 😀
