I thought I knew what I was doing, cleaned my cassette. Was trying to index my Gears, then my gear cable broke. This was on a Sunday. I emailed David, and he got back to me. I explained I was going away to new forest for a few days cycling. He was so keen to help me get the bike ready in time today is Monday. He's been over, fixed my cable and indexed my Gears. Thank you so much David, you have done a fantastic here. Can't wait to get to the new forest now. FANTASTIC SERVICE....

It was very easy to book an appointment and although they were busy they took the trouble to ask questions about the bike and advice on the type of service needed. Today was the first time I have used David and I am totally impressed with his professional manner. David was able to service all our 4 bikes which has saved so much hassle of trying to get all 4 bikes to the shop. I was recently recommended to Dave by an acquaintance to whom I shall be eternally grateful. Dave is everything you would want in a service provider. It is obvious within seconds of meeting him that he is exceptionally knowledgable on anything and everything to do with bikes. Previously held a bike clinic at my workplace. Looked around online and David provided a good price bike service so I got in touch. Really impressed with him. Carefully explained everything to me (neither mechanically minded or a “bike person”. Serviced my bike, husband’s and daughters. Replaced tyres, brake cable and cog on my husbands as required. Gave me a choice of replacement tyres which were all in stock. Really impressed and I’d recommend him to friends.

I had my Specialized touring bike serviced by David back in June. Dave arrived at my house at the agreed time and we had a quick chat about my bike use, condition of the bike etc so Dave gained a full understanding of my requirements, any issues etc. At various points during the service Dave brought things to my attention that didn't immediately need addressing but would do so in the future. He also provided great advice on various aspects of the bike and how to minimize potential issues etc. I really do recommend Hinton Cycles for a bike service, apart from the quality it is so much easier having them come to you rather than getting your bike to and from a location for a service. Contacted Hinton Cycles as I had a problem with the eccentric bottom bracket on my Montague belt driven folding bike. Dave came to my house and as he didn't have the correct bearing in his van we decided he should take the bike, order the new part and return the bike when the repair was completed. He brought it back a few days later with the new bearing fitted and belt drive adjusted as well as the hydraulic brake pipes swopped around. The bike is a US model and the brake pipes were reserved!! My bike is now better than ever and I found Dave to be very easy to discuss the problems with, very knowledgeable and great customer service.

Very impressed with Hinton cycles. Came to my house to repair a broken derailleur on my bike. But, due to replacement part not being compatible Dave took bike away, got the part and returned the bike when finished. He also did a few other repairs and bike is riding like new again. Fantastic service. We brought two touring bikes from the US in special suitcases, checked as regular luggage. One has a internal hub with a belt rather than a chain and David put them together very quickly and completely ready to ride. No fine-tuning adjustments needed as we rode. One wheel was badly out of true from the plane journey and that was all sorted out as well. It was clear David knew what he was doing and he and his wife were the nicest people you could ever meet.

I would heartily recommend Dave. He kept in touch re arrival and diagnosed the problem with the gear changes within 30 secs (not obvious), and he checked that all the gears worked as they should. I asked him to check the chain which I believed was worn, which he replaced on the spot. He also gave the bike a quick checkover, tightening up some handlebar and chainset screws. I have complete confidence in his expertise.

I've tried all the major shops in the Egham/Windsor area, and yes they all service bikes. But Hinton cycle is much more than a repair guy and more of a technician. He understands the mechanics and treats each bike as an individual. I bought a tern p9 ecocyle special edition folding bike .The middle bracket that controled the bending kept malfunctioning. Not a problem for david he measured and built a new device that made it stronger. Thanks David.
