Couldn’t not recommend Nathan highly enough. Super quick turn around time, especially considering current supply chain issues. Services bikes to an outstanding quality and picked up and delivered from my home. Will definitely be using again.

Superb job! i have been taking my bikes to Nathan for a 2-3 yrs now and never thought to write a review (sorry!). Can't praise the service enough - will collect and return to your home if necessary which is such a benefit these days. During lockdown I broke a spoke and couldnt get a replacement - Nathan got one custom made for me! I recently had a fairly complex mechanical problem with my bike at the end of a ride on a Saturday - took it to Nathan on Sunday (yes, Sunday!) and got it back after some fairly intricate engineering on the Monday. i'm not going anywhere else any more. Thanks !

Following a crash, an overdue service and new wheels to fit, Nathan did a phenomenal job going above and beyond to not only do the jobs I’d asked for but to perfect all the minutiae as well, he is extremely diligent and has a clear pride in his work. Couldn’t be happier! He’s collected and dropped off my bike free of charge and has accommodated my work to bring it at a convenient time, brilliant customer service. His subject matter knowledge is excellent and he is - out of the many mechanics I’ve used - the best I’ve seen. He charges extremely fair rates so do not waste your money at a chain shop with poor mechanics, get a professional job done! I’d give 6 stars if I could, thanks Nathan!

For anyone looking for friendly, honest and helpful advice on bike repairs, I recommend contacting Nathan - you won't go wrong. His knowledge is fist rate, good pricing and quote advice. He came to pick up bike from my home, superb workmanship replacing my rear cassette, all done in one day. He also spotted and fixed a serious fault that I was unaware of - fantastic - 5 stars!

Not only is the customer service amazing, the knowledge Nathan has and the fact that he's prepared to take the time to impart that knowledge to others is what sets him above the rest. Couple that with the ability to restore my bike, which was a state after 3-years of little attention, my bike now rides like new. I came back to road cycling a few of years ago and the technology and care required for a modern road bike has moved on considerably, Nathan walked me through everything he was doing, why it was needed, as well as the probable cause and how to help prevent it moving forward. Brilliant from start to finish, can't recommend highly enough.

Having recently purchased a second hand road bike, I thought it would be prudent to get it looked at and given a once over by someone with a lot more knowledge and experience than me. Having had a look around at some local bike mechanics, I came across the Bike Smiths, and had the absolute pleasure of speaking to Nathan. From the get go I realised that this was the guy for me. He was friendly, extremely knowledgable and listened to my needs. He fitted me in promptly and I gave him a good bike. What he returned to me was an incredible bike!! After attempting to true my wheels for the first time, I need new ones fitting. I thought I'd try Bike Smith's as they are just across the road and subsequently found out they have a collection and drop of service. Brilliant! Nathan provides a top quality, helpful service to a very high standard. He replace the wheels and a few other parts that needed doing and the bike was an absolute joy to ride upon it's return. I have found over the years it is very hard to find someone that is able to service a bike to this standard and I would recommend Nathan without doubt!

I wish I had found The Bike Smiths earlier! Nathan provides an excellent service. Bike picked up from my house and dropped off FOC. I was a little reluctant to hand over my pride and joy to a complete stranger at first.. Needlessly! I had a crankset upgrade to 1x12 for my aging MTB. During the process Nathan was very helpful and laid out all of the options available to me. Now the bike feels like new! He is always quick to respond and fairly priced. Many of the parts where cheaper fitted by Nathan than I could buy online for just the part. Nathan went above and beyond what I expected, and did a few extras to the bike for free. Better than a bike shop repair shop, as he has no hidden agenda to sell you a new bike. Respected social distancing guidelines. I would recommend without hesitation. I will be using The Bike Smiths again next time I need work on any of my bikes.

Having just moved to the area I was very anxious about leaving my trusted bike mechanic. I unfortunately came off my bike early this year which forced me to find a new bike mechanic and I could not be more impressed with my find in Nathan. Nathan brings together years of experience in retail, parts, repairs and the industry in general to offer a service that you can't get with anyone else in the area. Great local company. Nathan was prompt at arranging collection of the bikes and giving a quote for the works. All prices were discussed and agreed prior to works being carried out. The bikes having a silver service were dropped back to me the following day. Looking and sounding brand new! The gold service took a while longer but this was due to waiting on parts which are understandably delayed during the times of COVID19. I will definitely be using Nathan again for any repairs or servicing in the future.

It's taken me a couple of years to sort out getting my bike serviced and repaired - but I'm so glad I waited until I'd discovered The Bike Smiths. I rang them on a Saturday morning - they were able to get out that day to look at the bike and then take it away for repair. Nathan from Bike Smiths pretty much knew everything that was wrong with it the moment he saw the bike...and very clearly knew his stuff! Nathan followed up with a call letting me know the exact cost of repairs and servicing and then set about finding all the relevant parts. Bang on time he rang to say it was finished and was ready for delivery back to me - and he arrived at exactly the time he said he would. It's been like riding a new bike - he did dome serious repairs (completely new disc brakeset & discs new rear hub, new chain, new cassette, gear cables and many more things!). And all done in a really short length of time. Thank you very much, I'm sure I will be using The Bike Smiths again. Thoroughly recommended.
