Bought a bike for my son's birthday, had excellent service from both Steve and Ben who were on duty that day. Helped us choose a great model & were extremely knowledgeable. Unfortunately the bike suffered a mechanical failure on its first outing. Brought it straight back, and once again had excellent service from Ryan and Ben (again!) who helped us choose a replacement straight away (which is even better). Expert advice and first class service from all 3 - thanks again.

I bought my first Cannondale there and the service was first class and I am so happy with my bike so that I decided to get my kids and wife’s bike there at Christmas time . Ryan the guy who serviced me gave me a first class service and recommended me very good quality bikes from Trek I would of not thought about . I was looking at some other bikes which he said wouldn’t last half as long so I would if been spending double which I agreed totally . The Bikes are amazing. The customer service Ryan delivered was outstanding he was very polite/friendly and knowledgable . I was a joy spending time there . I can only recommend this store the quality is class . I came to this branch very irate as I had been mis-sold a male jacket in the Birmingham branch. The manager was very understanding and spent over an hour with me helping me to select a coat that works. Although I was unable to get a full refund, I left very happy. And who is happy when they don’t get their money back. That’s to show you how amazing the customer service is here. Will be going back again.

Went in today to get some of the ossentials for my first proper bike and was greeted by a lovely guy called Ryan that gave me a run down of what I needed e.g. Mud guards Puncher repair kits tools and some other things. Whilst it was all getting fitted we got introduced to a friendly guy called Steve and had a nice chat with both of them Great staff, great store, great range, great prices will visit again

I recently purchased a Trek powerfly 5 from Evans cycles in York. The staff are amazing, their attention to detail and their knowledge is second to none. The chap who sold me the bike was called Joe, his advice was fantastic in pointing me in the right direction to buying my bike. I had a few issues with the bike which were sorted immediately. Frank, the head mechanic, gave my bike a total check, updated the software and made sure everything was tip top. Mike the manager gave me a great deal of time and courtesy when I was choosing my accessories. Ollie advised me how to retain battery power and correct operation and usage of gears. Evans cycles are without doubt the best cycle company I have ever dealt with in my 35 years of cycling. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wishing to purchase a new bike or any accessories or any general information. I really can not recommend these guys any more. Perfect perfect perfect ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Went to pick up my son's first bike. We had a wonderful experience and the gentleman that served us (think it was James B) was amazing. He was so friendly, helped us with helmets and inner tubes as well. He couldn't do enough to help my son and I. During this current new norm it was nice to meet a bunch of people who were happy and eagar to help us. Even the guys fixing the bikes were chatting to us. When this is all over we will most certainly be going back for some accessories. Thanks guys!

Took my bike here for the first time a couple years ago. Another shop in york had tried to sell me a £150 hub because they said my old one was not fixable. Evans Cycles at Monks Cross then fixed it for £20! Been going to evans for all my bicycle needs ever since and they are fantastic, very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Steve the manager is a top bloke and will jump over hurdles to help you. 110% recommend them, Very very happy customer!

Amazed at the service and quality of Evans Cycles in York. Ordered a bike through them as they didn’t have it in store, I was a bit nervous as I had to put down a deposit but the sales person guaranteed that I would get my money back if I didnt like it. The bike arrived and I requested to buy it though bike to work scheme, which they had no issues with. Steve the sales assistant guided me through the process with ease and made it so easy to organise with my employer, in fact so easily the voucher arrived the same day! Steven helped me choose all the right equipment for me and not just the most expensive. He recommended the models that he had experience with as well as asking and listening to what I liked. Although some of the parts I ordered weren’t available on the day they were ordered and ready to pick up within a week. Alongside my purchase I got an extra £40 to spend on accessories. The bike was set up for me and ready to ride and I left the shop with a brand-new bike, some great accessories and some advice on how to transport it carefully. Overall it was a great day and I can’t thank Steve and the other members of the team for their work and help. Would happily recommend Evans Cycles in York.

Best service I have received in York. No hesitation to take as much time with me as I liked. Solid advice and honesty when they didn't know an answer. Obtained a comparison price, and price matched without my asking. A "Can-do" attitude, rather than a "don't bother me" one. Removed a handlebar from a stem, then refused payment. These guys actually like their work and their customers.

Really pleased with service from Evans Cycles York last week. I had ordered two parts, and booked for their fitting. Turned up to find out they had not arrived and they did not know where they were. Although for a short while they looked like they could not manage, the Manager found one of the missing parts and insisted they took the other off a bike for sale to fulfil the service. Have bought both my road bike and my son's from them in the last 3 years and v pleased with them both.

Had a fantastic experience today, buying a new bike. Credit where credit is due. A huge thanks to Neil who was extremely patient and there was no pressure to buy at all. All staff were responsive, responsible, knowledgable and friendly. In fact the guys could not have done more for me - changing stems to try out different positions to get the right fit, and also calling a store more local to me along the way. I noticed the mechanic working, he was super efficient, precise, thourough and a perfectionist taking pride in his work - unfortunately I didn't catch his name. Having worked on bikes for many years myself and with no vested interest in his work today - it's just worth mentioning!! With all of this, as a customer I found it particularly frustrating to see a couple being inpatient, moaning and winging that all of the asistants were busy with customers (who I might add had arrived before them)! The team at Evans seemingly can't win, either they'd be accused of being pushy / smothering or too laid back and inattentive. In reality they are neither. Perhaps I had a goldilocks experience...but I found them to be just right! I'm glad I ignored some of the less favourable reviews on here. Well done team. 👍🏼👌🏼

Workshop technician, Jake, at the York Monks Cross store was outstanding today. We had a mishap with a bike ordered online that was delivered to store and wasn't built, due to some confusion during checkout. It was for my 8 year old boy's birthday (today). He said it can be an awkward model to put together, which I probably wouldn't have the knowledge/skill to build in the short time I had (he's not wrong, I'm useless), so despite how much work he had on, he managed to fit it in and phoned a few hours later to say it was built and ready to collect. It wasn't his problem to solve, but he took it on himself to sort everything out. Nice guy too. Truly excellent customer service and hugely appreciated. I'll be going to Evans Cycles whenever I need anything in future now.
