I went along to The Recycle Project for the first time last weekend, when I saw one of the £5 sale adverts on Facebook. As a primary school teacher, I was keeping an eye out for a few things for my new classroom next year, so I thought I'd go along for a gander. Ended up with a lovely solid wood table (in the process of repainting this and giving it new lease of life), two little stools for my book corner (both had been reupholstered in matching grey fabric), a brand new board game, some binoculars, a little African djembe (I lead music at school) and a couple of other bits and bobs for an absolute bargain!! I'll be back again when you have your next event to see if I can scope out a few more classroom bargains :) The staff I talked to and dealt with were all friendly and helpful, and I was super impressed by how organised the place was considering it's such a rabbit warren with lots of nooks and crannies to explore, treasures of all kinds to find, and all the smaller spaces they use to great effect. Such a great idea and I'm pleased to be decorating my classroom with some pre-loved pieces instead of buying brand new!

Went along to the sale and got some furniture for my daughter's first home. What a fantastic idea and a fabulous service they provide. Really friendly staff more than happy to help. I have raved to all my friends about this place it's fabulous. Thank you I'll definitely be back.

Great experience yesterday. Brad went over and above… we were looking for some clothes rails.. Brad drove us to the nearby warehouse (where more rails were stored) he climbed over lots of stuff until he found exactly what we were looking for and took us and the rails back to the shop in his car. He told us all about the fantastic work the project carry out. Really can’t thank him enough. We will be back for more bargains!

Interesting and good bargains to be had ! Is on the same road as York tip so if having a clear out and you have recyclable / sellable goods you can drop them off here !

It's been a pleasure to work in collaboration with The Recycle Project CIC on Yorwaste's Get reCycling bicycle reuse campaign. Brad has been very flexible and obliging over general arrangements and Luke has been great on the stands, giving free safety checks on bikes and being very friendly and helpful with advice and information. The work of the Project is fabulous, diverting unwanted bicycles and household products from destruction, checking them then passing them on for reuse. Just what's needed in today's otherwise wasteful world.

If you love a bargain and want to help the environment by saving landfill look no further!! This is a really worthy place and project!! The people running it are really helpful and nice and as far as I know are mostly volunteers! Soooo many bargains there and the prices are very very decent!! It's a treasure trove heaven for a bargain hunter like me 😊 They also have a pound sale on a Saturday that I've been to. It was brilliant I got a brand new doll house and a chair for £2!!!! Love love love this place! Can't wait to go back as they always have new stock week!☺️☺️

Cyclists of York - if you want to learn more about bike maintenance sign up for one of the Project's bike workshops. I recently attended and found it well worth it. It's particularly important to have some awareness of mechanical safety issues so get along there now. Course adapts to your level of knowledge so don't worry if you know diddly-squat. Highly recommended.
