I've bought a few times from Johnstans, excellent service and really helpful. Got some ribs which were really reasonably priced - cooked them low and slow on the BBQ.

Guys In there are always super friendly and helpful. Went in today for a treat for me and the wife, really wanted some good steak - to me any old steak is good but one of the guys suggested some 40 day matured T-Bone steak - it did look amazing but the wife was a little worried about the price tag. 9.99 per lb. Expensive by our standards - having just cooked and finished eating it (cooked as per the butchers suggested method/time/ingredients) I have to say, it's worth double. Without a doubt the best meat I have eaten in my entire life. We use their cheaper cuts often and these are great - the top end stuff is a game changer though. I'm a good cook but I am painfully aware 99% of it was the meat. 2 x 1 inch thick steaks came in at just about £25.00 of this premium meat. Have a go, you won't regret it.

A local butchers with friendly staff and quality meats. I can always find a nice cut as well as some advice on preparation and cooking. Honestly one of the best steaks that I have ever had.

Johnstans have supplied us with very high quality meat, prepared exactly as requested and at a good price. We recently took advantage of their delivery service which arrived quickly and at our convenience, wrapped and sorted for us. We will definitely be using them again.

I come here every Saturday because the meats are excellent, and the place is run by good people. They're really helpful with cooking ideas, and can help with picking selections based on what you like. Thanks to them I've expanded on what I make. Helps a good deal having the quality items to work with from them.

I have been using these butchers for years (I live in Moseley) and do not recognise much of the criticism. The service is excellent, the meat of a very high quality and I welcome the genuineness of hanging the game out: it's far removed from the prepackaged artificiality you get in the supermarkets. I would urge people to support their local butchers and this one in particular as they are the only source of high quality fresh meat from miles around. One negative: I did notice that their pies were getting a little light on meat which I pointed out to them.

Great independent butcher's shop that's been here for decades and does a lot of work in the community as well as selling good food. I suspect some of the one-star reviews here are due to people either not liking Stan's politics (I try to avoid that subject myself to be honest) or his habit of displaying meat and game birds etc (it's a butcher...yes, there's meat here, and yes those are dead birds hanging under his awning). To be fair, he did once hang his birds on the safety barrier next to the pedestrian crossing, and that rightly upset a lot of people, and he removed the birds straight away. Basically it's just a really good, friendly, high-quality traditional butcher's shop, and I think it's important to support shops like this.

Top qualitly butchers. Been coming here for a few years now and the meat is stunning. Some of the tastiest meat I've cooked has been from here. Staff are proper friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to help if I come in looking for advice or something different. Highly recommend.

Have been going to Johnstans for a few years now. Steve and his staff are really welcoming and knowledgeable and have served the local community and restaurants for years. It's a shame the Vegan police have to wade in and sabotage a family business with damaging reviews and comments - Out of order. Butchers sell meat, it's not a new concept. Keep up the good work Steve and Co.
