Reviews of Farrington's Farm Shop & Café
R. S.
Wonderful farm shop and shopping area. We came for the pumpkin festival, which was brilliant. The festival was run really well, we had loads of fun. The staff we all lovely, helpful and friendly. We enjoyed having a wonder around the other little shops and the food stalls. The farm shop had a brilliant range of food. The snack shack had a lovely range of food and drink, I would highly recommend the mint mocha.

Anyone patient enough to read my stuff might detect a theme. Good customer service and value for money. This place has both in spades. We went into the cafe and received a wonderful welcome from a young lady. Her colleague was just as warm and friendly. We only popped in on a whim for a coffee but the cake counter should come with a warning: only those with iron willpower should be allowed anywhere near the items on display!! The offerings were sensational and irresistible. We indulged. The rest of the shops on site are brilliant, interesting. What's lacking in quantity is made up for in quality. Make a bee-line for the farm shop and be sure not to miss the smaller ones near the generous car park. This is a wonderful local amenity and deserves as many patrons as possible

What a lovely afternoon, high tea was the best yet , its well worth a visit, plus lots for the kids to do
N. M.
Came to use the cafe, had a nice breakfast. Would have liked the option to change the eggs on the full English but that was a minor thing really. The only real reason for the 4 star was because it was so dam cold, Pro tip don't run the air con and heating at the same time. Otherwise a massive improvement on last time, food was much better.

Such a wonderful place. The farm shop is well stocked with great produce and knowledgeable staff. The staff in the café were lovely and helpful. The current ordering system is a little chaotic with the hot food and cakes etc ordered in separate areas and if seated inside it was table ordering but if sat in the little garden you had to order in a little corner but perhaps that's a covid thing that needs finer tuning? The food was delicious and there was a good variety on the menu which catered for my foodie youngest daughter, autistic simple eating oldest and middle of the road me. The play park looked fab and even enticed the teenagers to have a play and we all loved seeing the animals who were clearly well cared for. The straw den looked fun for youngsters and there are some fab little independent shops to have a little browse around. Thoroughly enjoyed. Well worth a visit

What a gem of a discovery. I hadn't been out here for many years when it was just s small farm shop with meat for Christmas. Stopped off and discovered wonderful places to eat, free kids play areas and animals, lovely gift shop and as we left they do massage here, all in the tranquility of the countryside.
All this and the farm shop had some really well priced gems.
Will be returning...a lot.

Sunday lunch came highly recommended and it certainly didn't disappoint. It was a birthday treat for me and I really enjoyed it. I could have spent a small fortune in the shop as well. There's so much going on for the whole family.
C. M.
Fantastic cafe, shop and outdoor and indoor play areas for family. Gluten free options in cafe (and vegan). Love the frozen section in the shop. My 11 month old loves the soft play!
S. (.
Not bad, restaurant food was lovely. Food bought in shop was a bit disappointing and some miss labeled.
C. F.
Amazing place to go and take the kids. So much to see and do.
We went the year before lockdown and again last week for the pumpkin picking. Thet had a little trailer ride that all the family can enjoy for only £1 each.
J. P.
Amazing breakfast, I'll be back soon to try Sunday roast for sure. The bacon fresh from the farms butchers is the best I've tasted with melt in the mouth fat. My wife enjoyed the veggie breakfast aswell. Great start to the day!
E. H.
Slip and slide is great fun kept my son entertained all afternoon..take a towel and swimming kit. The park is lovely. Park and slip and slide are free. The indoor play area is 5.95 per child for under 14 and was great fun for my son. Cafe in the play centre,is expensive..3.10 for a latte so if u are buying drinks and food it will add up but was a lovely day and we will b going back
I. S.
Very good farm shop with far too many delicious treats to buy! Need to go back many times to make the best of their range. And a superb restaurant serving delicious wholesome food.

This is an updated review during a non-peak event.
We stopped in at the café for lunch with the kids. There was a short wait of about 5 minutes for a table. We were seated quickly and politely by the staff and given about 10 minutes before we were asked if we were ready to order.
After ordering, the drinks came almost immediately and the food was about 10 minutes.
The food was well prepared and tasty. We had asked for no tomato on over of the sandwiches and sure enough they had not added any in. Bravo!
The food was high quality and tasty and the service was polite, fast and generally very good.
It's not cheap - a round of sandwiches, plus a side of chips and drinks for four came to over £40.
Overall it was an enjoyable experience and a wander round the farm shop afterwards together some lovely products. The price of everything is high and that's the only downside.
With a visit.
D.
Tried the frozen ready meals from the farm shop. Absolutely delicious.....
Some of the other stuff is a little pricey though. Overall, great place.
T. B.

My parents treated me to a visit to the farm shop and café today. As a vegan I was sceptical about being able to find much that was suitable, but I ended up having a wonderful time. The vegan all day breakfast was insanely good and the shop has some incredible finds. Freshly made vegan pies, locally sourced veg, refill stations for all kinds of household products... fascinating hand made items, many recognisable and new vegan brands and goodies. The staff were so lovely and helpful, I highly recommend a visit. I'll certainly be returning soon!
P. R.
Brilliant for families with lots for children to do. As you'd expect from a farm shop the food and service is excellent.
H. F.
Visited farm shop, cafe and adjacent shops with friends. All staff in the farm shop were polite and approachable and shop chocked full of amazing local goods and seasonal gifts. Cafe staff went out of their way to accommodate our group of 3 for lunch and what was clearly a very busy day. Great food and wonderful service. Thank you so much
A. C.
We take our autistic son here to the café, I'm always so impressed with how understanding and kind the staff our, helping us find the quietest seat away from other people and considering the extra details. We also love the facilities here, shame we can't use the play barn due to noise but maybe one day they will get a SEN section
S. W.
What a great day we had. We went with our son, daughter in law and two granddaughters who are two and four. We went pumpkin picking first which the girls loved. We then had lunch in the cafe. The food and service was excellent. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We then went to the play barn. The girls had a ball. We will definitely go back.
E. G.
Lovely place with nice selection for and gifts in the farm shop and also a lovely cafe offering a wide range of food and drinks. There are a couple of gift shops with lovely gifts for all ages. An outdoor play area for little ones is also good to run off some energy.
j. n.
Nice food in cafe. We had pumpkin curry and jackfruit burger, both vegan, both good.
Nice toy shop on site too got presents for new niece.
Farm shop has a good range of fresh and frozen and dry goods... Easy to spend lots of money quickly here

S. H.
Lovely friendly people nice selection of foodie type food.. both meat and veggie
N. T.
Pretty good as far as farm shops go.
Like others have said - seems like more shops than farm.
R. M.
A very well laid out farm shop. Clean, great staff, some of the best produce and products you can buy though a little on the pricey side although worth it.
The best pork pies I have ever eaten comes from this place along with their black pudding scotch egg, both are must tries.
M.
Came here for the pumpkin picking. Amazing. Wonderful selection of pumpkins in all sizes. Visited their Christmas gift shop too. Wow. Would highly recommend a trip here.
K. M.
Great local farm shop, has a nice selection of food. Seems to have a lot going on to entertain kids. Love the fact I can walk in and pick up boar.
D. G.
Really great items here, you could spend a fortune if you're not careful
m. c.
Luved the day out here we went corn on the cob picking it was great which we cooked the next day... scrumptious. The farm shop was amazing so much on offer with wonderful fresh food and vegatables & fruit and so much more even gifts too. We ate fish and chips afterwards from the shop there in there picnic area very very good. 🐖🐓🦆🐐🍟🐟🙂🌽
S. E.
Fantastic lunch 😋 gr8 value for money, really tasty food, lovely atmosphere, very attentive and friendly staff too. Right on the doorstep support local.
S. D.
All food is of the best quality, friendly staff and a great cafe
J. W.
Great local farm shop .... Maybe a tad expensive but generally a great farm shop .
J. B.
Went here for the farm shop. Which had some lovely produce and provided paper bags for fruit and veg and generally encourages the use of less plastic throughout, The exception being the butchers, Which for some strange reason elects to vacuum pack its bacon and black pudding and then place the vacuum pack in a polystyrene tray and wrap with cling film Which seems completely unnecessary.
L. L.
Very nice, only popped in for tea and a slice of cake but very nice. Our waitress was very polite and friendly. My slice of Victoria sponge was delicious and had 2.5 cups of tea out of my pot for one. My sister had coffee and a scone with cream and jam which she enjoyed.
N. S.
I shared a lovely lunch with a friend. It was very busy & a little on the noisy side( it is school holidays so it was to be expected) but our lunch was good & well presented. I would recommend as a nice place to have lunch.
S. T.
Great produce! Lovely food.
We just found it cold while eating next to the deli counter..
P. M.
Verry good food ,friendly staff and nice place!
S. G.
Such an amazing place. All the staff are very friendly and happy to help. Great food, and I love that you can get fresh milk with a reusable bottle. Worth a 40 minute drive!
H. Y.
We bought a Chicken leek and bacon pie and it was one of the best pies that we have had , nice big pieces of chicken flavour delicious, pastry was lovely as well, will be getting some more.
A. S.
We always purchase our potatoes here, they are great allrounders.
A. B.
What a fantastic cafe. Clean, tidy and well presentable. Good menu to choose from breakfast to afternoon tea. Staff very helpful. Definitely worth a visit.
P. P.
Bit disappointed with the food in the cafe menu has changed and the choice is not good used to be great
D. R.
Very good service, lovely quality all day breakfast and a roaring fire.
H. S.
The food here is lovely, and the shops are amazing for little gifts. They also have a hair dresser and beauty room! They also have fun activities for the kids.
G. S.
Good selection of fresh food.
Nice restaurant.
c. b.
Surprisingly, there was a fabulous selection of Italian pastries here! Great selection of cheeses, pasties, pies and great BBQ meats, even ice cream for dogs. Well worth a visit.
D. P.
Shop not too crowded with a nice range of products. Cafe was not overly busy with empty tables, however as a couple we weren't allowed to take a table for 4!
D. D.
Loved picking tulips really good quality still haven't dropped a week on. Never new you existed and throughly enjoyed our brunch. Not do fond of choice of coffee a tad bitter for me and my husband.
S. S.
Visited cafe on day of Euro final in afternoon. Maybe that was why it was half empty. Nevertheless, still waited for five mins to be seated, and 10-15 mins for lukewarm coffee to arrive. Staff appeared busy, so maybe there just wasn't enough of them or just buying drinks was more trouble than it was worth to them. £3.10 for an average sized cup. Shop is still open, still good, still expensive.
S. B.
Often meet a friends for coffee or lunch here. Good food and good service. Very safe environment. Some nice small shops to browse and a play experience for children
L. N.
Great place, farm shop, as well as other units selling unusual things. They have a café, didn't go in as there was no vacant space and didn't want to wait. There is a good play area for younger children and also a few small animals in pen runs(chickens, ducks etc). There were some fair ground rides/stalls not sure if they were only for the bank holiday, didn't have time to look as it started to rain. But overall a good stopping place, free parking, outside porta loos(very clean) and of course social distancing.
B. B.
Delicious. Good sized portions. Great service!
L. H.
Lovely farm shop, prices on the high side, but not unexpected. Have several other businesses on site and good parking. Well worth a visit.
D. G.
Lovely day out with my granddaughter, plenty for her to do, friendly cafe and well stocked farm shop
J. C.
Incredible deli items and cheese selection!
K. B.
I took my mother as a little trip out after the recent lockdown relaxations. It was our first time and I was impressed by the facilities, the farmshop and cafe were particularly nice. Although the tulip picking was good value for money ( 15 stems for £5), I was disappointed in the lack of variety of tulips, which are my favourite flower. There were 3 types, essentially 2 a variety of red and one a deep pink and no yellows or whites. Perhaps next year a wider variety could be planted. However, I will be back for cosmos, sunflower picking.

Great place for a family day.
Food was delicious
G. C.
The staff were very friendly helpful and our order arrived quickly despite the fact they were quite busy. My wife had a cheese scone which she said was amongst the best she had eaten. I had a beef sandwich with horseradish and beetroot spread. The meat was well cooked the filling was great, not too heavy a hand with the horseradish. Just right. We had a cappuccino and tea with our snack and were very happy
F.
Nice spot, but pricey!
Decent selection of fresh and locally produced items. Very nice to come here for a couple treats but I wouldn’t do my weeks shopping here! Cafe is decent (but also pricey).
They get bonus points for stocking my favourite cider though!
K. H.
It's great. The shop is expensive but the quality is generally there. The restaurant too is dear but pleasant, if you can get a seat (difficult during covid!). The events are fun - we've done both sweetcorn and pumpkin picking in recent weeks. Fun for the kids. Not been to the playbaen but I hear good things
G. W.
Nice fresh produce, a little expensive but good quality food
J. D.
it was very busy today in the cafe, but a lady called Vicky and another lady called Leanne were amazing as soon as a table for 2 came free it was cleaned and we were seated by Vicky and she took our order of 2 x 2 coarse beef roast dinner straight away. Even though it was busy the staff were happy and really friendly. Our lunch arrived in a short amount of time considering how busy they all were . It was lovely and hot and it tasted amazing everything was cooked to perfection , can’t complain about a thing it was a lovely experience. Please pass this on to the staff.
S. R.
Lovely food to eat in cafe and a good selection in the shop
J. C.
Excellent breakfast in the cafe, big portions of high quality food. Bacon was very good. Lots of good local and interesting foods on sale. Great homemade cakes and pastries. Staff were very friendly, atmosphere is relaxed and interior is nice farmhouse style.
I. C.
Popped in for coffee and cake. We were served by George who was helpful, polite and friendly. Try the millionaire shortbread, it's lovely!
C. J.
A fine place if you want to buy things for or from a farm... Not so much if live in hotel for whatever reason.
I. F.
Holy Moly, this is expensive. Good quality, artisanal in parts, some home-grown foods but if such (local?) produce really does cost this much to sell me then I'd like to understand this before I get to the checkout.
C. C.
Had a great quiche. Service was excellent.
c. k.
Ok but 10min wait for coffee, saw waitress stroking dog on her way yo getting conderments for another table , she obviously did not wash her hands as back very soon afterwards, also why do they bring your food out then ask do you want any sauces then you have to wait why not ask you when you order and get them then
J. A.
Tad pricey as per most farm shops but perfect compromise of old meets new. Pumpkin picking was able to do on the cheap but add on additional items if wanted. Although free pumpkin with every visit it was not a tiny beat up one it was the ones you picked. Definitely be back again next year.
J. M.
Really lovely place to visit. There's plenty of parking. There's a few different shops including crafts and produce. There's a play barn for little ones to have fun. The cafe is lovely for either just a drink or for lunch/brunch etc. Staff were super friendly. Food and drinks are well priced. There's a kids menu and toys in the cafe to help entertain small people. The atmosphere was nice and cosy and even though it was busy it didn't feel like it and we weren't rushed out the door to make room. We'll definitely visit again. We went just before Christmas and I did lots of Christmas shopping whilst there.
J. H.
The cafe is good value for money, the farm shop is a bit over priced.
A. B.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. They offer excellent service; and remember what you have ordered without even asking. The food was very nice. The only downside was some (mostly the sauteed potatoes) of the food was a little colder than I expected. It would have been good if you had a choice of types of bread, if you wanted different from white.
R. H.
Went out for the pumpkin picking. Good fun for the family. Take your wellies!
G. C.
Beautiful large range of foods, a must for my Christmas cheese board shopping, great staff very friend and know their products.
K. L.
Lovely well stocked shop, local produce and the deli is just amazing. Only downside is that I always spend far far too much money
l. (.
Very nice service and a great choice in all sorts of lovely food and sauces. Excellent quality meat and all round good place ..can be a bit expensive but u only get what u pay for as the saying goes
k. c.
Food good but not cheap.
S. P.
Tons of variety. Lots of locally sourced foods and at great quality. The only negative thing I can say is that they're a little bit on the expensive side, but overall this is a minor thing compared to the vast range of local goods they sell
R. B.
Great produce helpful staff and relaxing atmosphere.
T. F.
Lovely cake, lovely staff, great place, thoroughly enjoyed our wedding there too, 😀
N. D.
Another amazing experience at the farm, we always attend the pumpkin picking even and this time we tried to Tulip picking and it was wonderful, the cafe has delicious food and the kids park is perfect for all ages, we will be back very soon, thank you!
I. P.
Food was nice enough, but served in a takeaway box with disposable cutlery (early May, before we were allowed to eat inside). Staff were friendly and helpful.
1. 6.
Really well stocked farm shop, unique produce and great value. Friendly staff too!
A. T.
Outstanding. . Lovely and helpful staff. And great prouduce. . Warning stay away from the cannoli's as they are yummy and moreish. . Not a friend to my waistline but can't eat just one lol
P. h.
Food was ok had the pulled pork burger with chips the salad that came with it almost had like a film of oil over it. front of house team was very welcoming and polite couldn't fault them
P. G.
Very good farm shop with a very large selection of artisan foodstuffs. Great veg great meat and cheese. Good selection of vegan produce if you are that way inclined. My only criticism is that everuthing is expensive but i suppose we have been brought up to expect that you pay for quality.
M. B.
Great food,friendly service
D. M.
Very welcoming staff, including the black&white cows on site :), great coffee and cakes, really worth stopping by!
M. B.
Brilliant hardworking friendly staff. Just go into the shop and look at the quality of the foods or visit the cafe where lovely food is on offer, cooked freshly and served to the table, with courtesy and professionalism. Always a pleasure to visit. Keep it up!
n. a.
Nice cafe with good food.
J. H.
Quality fun for families of all ages to go and do pumpkin picking. They have event all year round and always cater very well for Children. Worth a look. Good farm shop and cafe too, with other shops and play area which is good for all ages
S. P.
The cafe here is one of our favourite places to stop off for lunch. Delicious fresh food (we especially love the quiche and salad) and an excellent selection of cakes. Counter service, can be slow when busy, but not so negative as to mark them down. Signage and menus at the counter could be a little clearer. Busy at weekends and school holidays.
W. H.
We dropped in on an unplanned visit to get gift for family we were staying with over the weekend. We didn't know what to expect, but it was delight. Lots of different local foods, wines and produce. Friendly staff, and we parked easily. Well worth visiting.
r.
Best coffee in Farrington Gurney. Sandra superb service. 👍😀🐒
V. D.
Greeted in the cafe by Friendly staff following covid rules very spacious, had lunch food lovely & fresh, shop laid out very well with fresh produce 🌞
R. T.
So much less stressful than the big stores especially during the lock down. The butcher is really nice and very helpful with great humour. One thing I want to say is please get a wet fish counter it's so needed around here.
F. A.
Living close to this farm shop since 2005 I've been impressed by the evolution from a simple farm shop to a small shopping complex. The farm shop has a delicious selection of local cheese, meat and game, vegetables and fruit, plus baked items and dairy produce. However my latest visit was to the new knife sharpening service in one of the surrounding buildings. I had pinking shears, sewing scissors, and a Zwilling chefs knife sharpened - making them as good as new! I'd forgotten the difference of using really sharp tools - amazing. So fantastic to know where to get this invaluable service.
J. B.
What a great find! If trying to contribute to a zero waste lifestyle where every little helps this is a great place to visit
D. M.
Lots of locally sourced, veg, diary and meat. Lovely frozen fruit and pastries and a fabulous range of cheese and olives at the deli counter!
E. B.
Great array of locally sourced fruit and veg. As well as a great selection of meat, dessert, jams a d many more! They also sell curry in jars;be aware as some may be for people with a more spicy 'palette'.
J. D.
Lovely place with a great cafe. Check out the delicious ready meals.
J. B.
Been coming here for some years but the main reason - their organic vegetables - has gone downhill. Last few times there has been very few varieties of their own veg, despite the chart telling you what they grow in season most of it was either other UK growers or imported. Doesn't feel like a farm shop any more.
G. D.
Nice produce, bought local cheeses to try but when we got home found they weren’t labelled...a bit disappointing.
S.
Went pumpkin picking on the attached field. The farm shop is large and has everything you could want (beer, cider, meat, eggs, frozen food, cakes) perfect to pick up some presents
B. S.
A fantastic family day out - rain or shine. Will especially appeal to those with young children (under 10). At special times of the year (Halloween, Xmas etc) they run some great events that offer something different from the farm and soft play area. A little gem, I highly recommend it.
J. D.
Fantastic farm shop. Lots of delicious food, from fruit and veg to a great butchers, deli counter, frozen meals, sweet treats...something for everyone! There is also a cafe, playbarn, fish and chip shop, gift shop and playground with games and animals. A great day out for the whole family.
D. R.
A really good farm shop with some very interesting ranges and products, well worth a look for the farm shop alone but there is so much more!
The coffee shop is great too and now that it has been extended there is a lot more space.
Outside there are many areas to explore for all the family and plenty of parking.
P. F.
We like popping in to the "Cow Place" for lunch. It is a great local place to shop with loads of character. They have loads of interesting things to do and shops to temp you to buy. The butcher is very friendly and the meet is good. But then you do pay a bit more for it.
M. M.
Absolutely love coming here. Wendy our waitress is amazing, even at busy times she remains calm and anything we request never seems to much to her. Brilliant food. Generous helpings.
V. M.
Really well organized farm shop, with plenty of activities for all ages, but especially for children
c.
Really good quality pumpkins and good children’s Halloween activity’s. If you want a cheap (ish) day out then come here. They have a pumpkin patch (come early or mid October for best selection as end of October half the field is cornered off and the only pumpkins they have are green ones) they also have a witch for the kids and if you pay £1 you get to roast marshmallows over a camp fire. There is this carving barn with a hay pit for toddlers and under 8’s. And there is a restaurant. So definitely come
J. T.
Our favorite farm, we go every year to pick pumpkins for Halloween, last August we picked sunflowers, and this year for the first time we picked our own tulips, I recommend all these events, they are well organized, the ticket prices are according to the product you can bring home, fun is guaranteed, the staff is extremely friendly, and the cafe offers excellent products(our favorites coda di aragosta and cannoli) , excellent farm to spend a day with the family, or as a couple
A. L.
I liked the decor of the restaurant, very chic. They had goldfish in tanks for tables and cowskin on the chairs and walls. However the food left much to be desired. The cake we had tasted very odd. The shop was well stocked but it had a sprawling and confusing layout.
C. P.
Popped in for some chocolate scotch eggs!! Outrageously yummy!

Came for the pick your own corn and it was a lot of fun. We did the pumpkin picking last year and will be back when it's on in October. There's an amazing farm shop here too.
S. S.
The shop is nice but there wasn't really anywhere to picnic as the cafe benches were definitely only for cafe customers. Loved picking the sweetcorn though.
P. A.
Quality venue and the proprietor has some great produce ,however , when I arrived at the cafe was greeted with 'table for one ' when I asked if I could have a particular table I was told unfortunately I couldn't as it might get full yet I watched 3 people come in and sit down where they liked .
Not impressed ,but the food was great quality.
a. r.
Very interesting place, nice on a warm day for outside space, good grub, polite staff.somewhere different with the farm shop and Cafe
S. M.
Well laid out and lots of parking. Layout is a bit odd, you can't get back out the way you come in. No cashback offered at the till, so make sure you bring cash as some of the other shops on site don't accept card payments. There is a cashpoint, but it charges you 99p to use it. Good for catering to cyclists though.
H. P.
Good local produce and many award winning cheeses. Cafe is also serving local produce and good coffee and cakes. Also has a gluten free kitchen recently added so can produce quality items free of contamination. Outside children's area.
S. M.
Great food which was served very quickly. Felt very covid secure. It is table service and one way system, staff very helpful and friendly.
Very popular with families.
M. S.
In for lunch food very fresh and good portions. Staff very friendly and attentive.
R. P.
Good products but quite expensive. I used to shop here a few years ago when they had more affordable products, for example frozen pasties/slices but they seem to have stopped stocking them now and are focused on more upmarket products with the innevitable greater price.
I was suprised by the range of frozen products they do have. It ranges from prepared goods to fruit and chopped vegetables. You could save lots of time if you had lots of people to cater for.
They also ha a good deli section with a with a wide variety of cheeses, meats and baked goods. These appeared to be reasonably priced.
T. T.
Lovely farm cafe and lovely farm shop
D. M.
Staff Very friendly and helpful
Did not think much of the menu
Shop well stocked and Very good Quality at a reasonable price
L. D.
Not much more to say than a fantastic array of everything you'd expect a farm shop to have. The cafe/restaurant is lovely too. Great food and customer service.
h. a.
We did my son birthday party over there. We all are happy with place. The road leading to it have many bends you should drive carefully. The place is decent and i would like to do it more
T. “. K.
Reviewing Soft Play... Big space for indoor play and variety of meals available. The coffee is sadly not the same quality as the cafe, and the menu is different too - something to bear in mind if you're going for food too!
J. W.
Great local farm shop 👍
C. H.
Really nice food ! But the wait was rediculious all though staff were friendly enough no one came over to apologise about the wait ! When you have a little one with you it's no fun . But pumpkin picking was amazing .
M. &. M.
Excellent choice of Food, and excellent quality. You'll pay more for quality food here than in the supermarkets, but you get a bit of what you pay for.
E. M.
Only came for pumpkin picking. Was better than last year, had a great time
J. G.
It has become prone to commercialism. At one time a working farm with a good farm shop and cafe, they have tried to cram loads in, resulting in a smaller choice of items at the shop. That said, there are loads of other shops there, so if you have young kids and want something to do on a dry day, there is a playground and electric tractors and snacks or fish and chips etc.
M. B.
Great selection of produce.
C. S.
Not the cheapest place to buy almost ANYTHING, but quality, freshness, and eco-friendliness of the produce, more than compensates.
There's plenty of parking and for early birds, they have many good breakfast options. On occasion this can be a bit hit-or-miss if you're fussy about your eggs. Excellent coffee though.
D. R.
Food in restaurant is tempting, if pricey. Odd arrangement for ordering food. You need to find a table, then go to place an order. Although, what you do if someone is then sat at it when you return, I don't know. Someone I was with needed to queue at three counters for one item! They have a system, if it doesn't work for the punters, unlucky.
Limited outside seating, if its a hot day.
R. (. S.
The frozen lamb tagine was very tasty, there is a fine selection of beers from Cheddar and cider from Thatcher's. The café has top notch cakes and the seeded bread is good. It's not the cheapest place around, but definitely among the best.
L. B.
Lovely afternoon tea. Food was very nice and felt safe due to all the social distant measures put in place. Would def recommend
M. P. (. a.
It's a typically laid out farm shop but whilst farm shops aren't great value in general this one is particularly poor value with higher prices for average fair, nothing particularly out standing. Never eaten there so can't comment but it is popular.
L. R.
Lovely staff, great cakes and desserts. Very clean. Shame they don't do a ploughman's lunch......being a farm cafe. Shop very well stocked with local produce.
J. M.
There's a play barn with soft play which has natural light and actually isn't bad as far as soft play goes. Outside you can see cows and there's a sweet play area. The shop itself is fairly good if expensive, lots of local and alternative produce.
C. d. L.
Pretty average couple of meals sadly. The sausage was the real disappointment though, very strange taste and texture. Wouldn’t hurry back. The farm shop attached is good though.
R. D.
A normally pleasant shopping and eating experience totally ruined today by screaming, unruly children in the café, whilst disinterested parents spent time on their phones, ignoring other people's right to eat in peace. We ordered the Sunday beef roast which was nicely cooked and presented, but eaten in a hurry just to get out of the café. I have no idea if this happens every Sunday, or if it was just a one off, but it was enough to convince me not to risk it again.
J. B.
Visited in August 2020 with social-distancing guidelines in place. I was pleased with the arrangements in the cafe: staff wore visors, entry was with a queue system, and there was plenty of space (including outdoor tables). I wasn't asked to provide track & trace information. The cafe is very nice with a range of hot & cold food including full meals like burgers as well as homemade cakes.
When I visited, the nextdoor farm shop was open as normal; the adjacent outdoor play area for kids was open (with some restrictions) but the indoor soft-play area was closed.
I. V.
Huge variety of unusual foods here. Great butcher with local produce. Nice bakery and pastries too.
N. C.
They have a really good soft play area, plus a lovely outdoor play area. They hold lots of different events; pumpkin picking and carving, tulip picking etc. The farm shop sells delicious, freshly made food. There's also a fish and chip shop and at christmas they have their own christmas shop. They sell christmas trees too.
D. H.
Came for breakfast on the way to Yeovil .what a hidden Gem breakfast was terrific with a bonus of a real fire burning. All the staff are very polite and helpful. Place comes with its own shop fresh veg n fruit. Cakes to die for, pies sauces you name it . Will use this again xx
C. P.
Very well organised pumpkin festival. The kids enjoyed the day and even though it was raining and cold we managed to get pumpkins and then visit the farm shop and spend some time in the soft play :) well worth the visit!!!
W. P.
Good choice of products and meat. Great cheese counter selection.
V.
Really friendly staff. Been in the truck all night after my truck got stuck in the snow. Got here waiting for taxi And the lovely lady offered a tea while I waited and got warm and came out with a bacon sandwich. :)
f. t.
Good variety of food some a little pricey but nice to have a look around. Friendly staff ample parking
s. w.
Visited for a party on a Saturday afternoon in February. Typically rammed like all softplays. Decent equipment, friendly staff and high quality food and drink. Kids loved it. We didn't explore the outside area or farmshop on site
T. C.
Tasty healthy home style food, good range of products in the shop too, delicatessen style definetly for foody types of people.
Recommend the canolli sweets, just don't eat them all at once.
S. P.
have been coming here for close to a decade and it has been amazing watching it grow into an establishment that caters for the whole family. We especially enjoyed the grass sleighs!
L. C.
Lovely place to visit lovely food and coffee. Always go here after visiting my Mum in local Church.
L. R.
What a fabulous farm shop! Many unusual items like Italian pastries along with fruit, veg, cheeses and even a cafe. Well worth a stop.
G. J.
Clean, tidy, and lots on offer, including local items to the south west. Ample parking. Very lucky to have on our doorstep.
T. C.
I love this shop, great local produce lovely presentation and great food the prices are reasonable too.
D. F.
Large commercial farm shop with lots of produce. Good cafe and a play barn (£5) per child. Meat is all pre-packaged. Nothing to write home about it’s a huge place with not a lot of character.
L. B.
Nice range of farm foods.
D. C.
Really happy with the service and food was excellent would definitely come again
S. L.
Perfect place to go for less packaging, local produce, fresh food, fantastic freezer selection of "help yourself" goods. Staff where great will be coming again 🙂
S. S.
Love this place. It can be busy because it's popular..... But you can't blame them for that! Hate negative reviews just because somewhere is busy. Prices are good especially if you keep the same coffee cup!
C. R.
This is a cool place to take the kids, there's a soft play area for little tots and a larger area for older children, you can watch them play while having a tea or coffee and something to munch on from the cafe, there's also plenty to do outside - kids will love it.
T. W.
Lovely place lots to do..shame its pricey for the barn play.
But deffo worth another visit.
M. L.
Sweet corn picking very good fun, grounds could be better but are great fun for kids to run off steam,. Cafe good as well
J. K.
Lovely sunny lunch in relaxing surroundings, great service and tasty food as always!
L. R.
Fantastic. My daughter is autistic and we got there for when it opens, the staff are fantastic very polite and will go out of their way to help, food is lovely to. Definitely recommend.
P. B.
Farm shop which is a bit on the expensive side, good selection of items, some veg home grown. Butchery counter provide by John Thorners. Free parking and disabled parking and easy access to all of site. Playbarn and outdoor 'farm' play area for children(not used by myself so cannot rate it). Onsite café provides breakfasts, lunches and afternoon tea.
P. S.
Functional farm shop with cafe. Cafe layout forces you to exit through the shop which it self forces you to go round every shelf, not the direct route out. Not very handy if you just want a quick coffee. Suffers due to lack of competition.
T. N.
Good selection of local produce
A. C.
Very nice. Clean tidy. Food lovely. Children had a fantastic day. Under floor heating. We will be returning
A. F.
Great place to visit. Soft play and basic cafe area for children. Resident Donkey and small Horse. Lots of interesting shops with a great farm shop. Well worth a visit.
F. B.
This place always lives up to expectations. Great food and always get tempted by the deli counter. It never fails to provide good quality fresh food.
R. M.
Fantastically friendly staff and great food. Well worth a visit.
M. W.
Had a fabulous breakfast and pot of tea. Popped to see the pigs after. Can't fault.
S. B.
Super farm shop and great cafe. A lovely gift shop with reasonable prices for something a bit different. A play barn and loads to do for families. Definitely a place to visit.
m.
There's more to this place than you my think from the road. Worth a look and the 🍰 cakes are gorgeous.
J. E.
This is a Lovely place to buy Traditional food farm food's and alsorts of other things as well.
A. P.
Nice farm shop and had a great time picking pumpkins however the cafe let them down did not seem like a farm shop cafe just a rubbish road side cafe, definitely better to get something from the shop and take it elsewhere or home as they have lovely food (cakes, pies, pastry, sandwiches and lots more) couldn't understand why that was in the same building as the cafe but they didn't use it in the cafe.
A. G.
This was disappointing. They seem to have lost interest in the restaurant. The menu directs customers to find a table and order at the counter but there are waiters who invite you to sit a then take the order but they can't take payment. The food has become very basic and there was no finesse from the servers. Very confusing.
G. L.
It's good and all that but in the farm shop we could not find the exit!! We went for the skating event. The farm was quite clean but there were not many parking spaces.
r. h.
Brilliant place ,different shops .lovely fish and chips
N. T.
Nice Latta and bacon buttie
s. n.
Abundant selection of fresh from farm products. Something for everyone. Nice selection of bakery items, kids entertainment and natural healthy products. Oh those cannoli's are sinful!
P. K.
Very expensive shop. Vegetables very over priced. Good variety of home made cakes etc. Lovely restaurant with super cakes etc. At the moment there's a lovely Christmas shop with some lovely hand made wooden yhings. Wirth a visit
M. A.
Nice place, lovely deli and a great selection and variety of foods either packaged or fresh. Great for the kids with animals and things to play on.
D. C.
Love it here, but the only problem is.......you end up going in for a couple of things and because everything is so lovely you end up spending an absolute fortune on loads of things you hadn't factored in on buying!!
Keep up the good work 👍👍
N. M.
Excellent farm shop! Lovely staff, and reasonably priced local products.
M. R.
We stopped here on are way home from Dorset back to Bristol and loved looking around the local shops and views. Nice for a stop off if your passing by.
P. W.
Lots of good fresh food, not so much fun stuff to buy for presents as there used to be. Fruit and vegetables very good and fresh but I do find it so expensive so can only go there once in a while
R. C.
The farm shop is great with local cheeses and deli. Lots of local Somerset food. Fresh produce. And good jams and marmalades.
H. B.
Realy good cumfy food. Authentic farm atmos, is a working farm too. Not cheap but quality of produce is great. Can get oddities too in frozn form. Fruit and veg is first class, plenty to choose from.
J. H.
Good place generally. Nice food and good facilities. Kids play barn. Miss the shed full of straw to play in for the kids and all the animals. Got a little commercialised now.
J. G.
Great picking pumpkins etc., cafe is organised chaos! 45 minute wait for t and cake. Why not split it that you have one table service and one self service!
K. K.
Love this place - great cafe for food and the farm shop is just sublime with all the ranges of delights on offer - definatelg the place to go to get the bits for a special meal - and definately the place to go to get the BBQ supplies 😁
D. P.
Lovely place, nice food. A little pricey... But don't take a 12.5 m bus into their car park 🤪
P. C.
Great fresh produce and loads to do, cafe is excellent too.
G. C.
Mmm had cheesy chips in the end, nothing to right home about. Would have liked to have tried some other hot food but just missed the time for serving . I'm wondering if I would go back.
M. M.
Best Malteser cake EVER! Coffee could have been hotter, lovely cheese selection. Expensive, but farm shops always are.
L. D.
Lovely staff, excellent food and service. We love this place.
C. D.
Nice place to look around and really good food in restaurant recommended.
J. E.
Excellent food at a great price. As all the food is freshly prepared and the place is popular be prepared to wait a while to be served. But it is well worth the wait!!
M. W.
Bustling local farm shop and cafe. Easy parking. Well worth a visit
T. M.
Excrlleng full English breakfast. Happy, friendly, staff. Will be back soon
D. A.

Love the shop & cafe, a great place to stop for picnic treats. Always friendly staff.
R. P.
Wide selection of fruit, vegetables and local produce. Very friendly staff too
P. H.
Had coffee and cake in the cafe, coffee was poor and all cakes and scones we ordered were very dry. Nice place but dissapointed with food and drink.
J. P. B.
Had a lovely time picking and carving pumpkins
M. K.
Nice location and great cafe but the shop is just outrageously expensive. With their playcentre that's recently been added it means there are always loads of young screaming kids around too.
D. W.
Great softplay for kids.... Adults can sit and keep an eye on them whilst they play drinks and food available at a reasonable price
J. M.
Lovely home made food & friendly staff love taking my grandsons there .plenty of parking even better in the summer
B. F.
Called in for lunch and while it wasn’t busy, we had a long wait for the food to be served. The person serving us was not that welcoming and gave the impression of not liking the job very much. Not sure we will be going there again.
A. S.
Great to see it open again. Good food and friendly service.
R. C.
Lovely space both indoors and out. Sunflower, sweet corn and Pumpkin picking as well as a soft paly barn, restaurant and shop.

A.
Great day out for children, soft play and outside activities for them, animals as well, added bonus when we went, going into sunflower field and cutting a few, kids loved it
S. S.
Great farm shop and place to eat. Brilliant little shop where we bought a lovely reversible top for my grand daughter.
S. D.
Such a lovely place to visit the food is great however the service could be quicker and it would have been nice if our table had been cleared rather than having to sit at a dirty table.
D. K.
Food in the cafe was absolutely perfect would definitely recommend
D. F.
OK... not much choice of actual food in the cafe, but the cakes and coffee are good. Don't think much of the kiddies trail, especially at nearly a fiver to get in.
K. S.
Lovely place to visit and children will love it too. Cafe served mouthwatering food with indoor and outdoor play areas idea to keep everyone happy
J. H.

Lovely place to visit with kids. They have a nice variety of animals and it's very cheap. They also have a fantastic array of shops for the grownups!
C. o. t. C.
Love this place for the kids, we travel 40 mins to go here. Great soft play, restaurant and outside farm area to walk around.
S. W.
Shop is pretty good, if rather pricey, but the surrounding "attractions" are very tacky and can be overrun with noisy kids. We stopped going because of this
M. W.
Nice farmhouse restaurant, great service and a cosy table by the log burner made this a special treat. Food was excellent.
n. e.
It's a great place to go. Please get more staff in the cafe! Those poor ladies!
