T. U.Great quality meat and fantastic customer service. We buy chicken, pork, beef and lamb - all very good quality and fresh. Sausages are tasty and the dry cure bacon is delicious.
The staff here are very friendly and give good advice on how to prepare meat. My crackling has never been so good since this butcher shared his knowledge.
C. D.Nice inside with friendly staff and a good array of produce. Decided to sit at the tables outside as we had our dog with us. Asked for a bacon and sausage bun and a full English. The breakfast was being put into a polestyrene box so I asked if it could be plated, but it didn't happen. The breakfast was taken from display containers. The bacon in the bun was fatty. The entire contents of the breakfast must have been standing for most the morning. The egg was like rubber and the bacon was so tough the plastic cutlery couldn't cut it. Beans and mushrooms were cold. Asked for coffees, but wasn't given any choice and ended with "instant" coffee. Left the egg and the dog got most the meats so she had a great time! Wouldn't recommend for breakfast, perhaps it'd be nice earlier in the day when it's fresh. Their other produce looked nice.
*Update following response - we were served at 11:30am. I appreciate the swift reply, we don't get to Lanchester too often as we usually only travel there to take our dog to the vet. Thanks.
C. W.Excellent butchers and delicatessen. Sells ready meals and all-day breakfasts as well as a meat pies, fruit pies, cheesecake and home made chocolate bars such as rocky road. They have a range of cooked meats with the best ham I know, along with a selection of sandwich and salad stuff.
Be warned though, it's very popular so there's always a queue around lunch times for their freshly made sandwiches to order.
