If you are near Aldeburgh and need a burger fix Salter & King is the place to go. It's all about meat quality, pickled onions and cheese. It's simply good. This burger is on my top 3 burger list in the UK. Burgers available Friday and Saturday

Superb butchers. Amazing meat on display - everything is truly special. Fantastic aged beefs and some lovely cuts of meat that illustrate traditional butchery at it's best. Always visit when we come to Aldeburgh - but now delighted to be able to order and have items delivered home! Christmas order placed today!

This is a very high quality butcher - as much meat as possible is locally sourced and is always delicious. The staff are always helpful in terms of cuts and how to cook them. Only criticism is I have found on a weekday, the junior staff can knock off well before scheduled closing time which isn't great when you are working and can only make it down there close to the end of the day. But sure this will be sorted soon.

As per the earlier review by Tim Mantle we have a bit of a grouse (sorry for the pun) about the quantity of meat we were sold. We asked for two 8 oz steaks. The assistant picked up a lump of steak and suggested dividing it in two. We said it looked like the two halves would be rather too big. But he divided it and then told us they actually weighed 8 oz each. We paid and left. But examining the receipt later, we saw it was a total of 23.5 oz of steak. So we’d bought two 12 oz steaks, 50% more than we asked for (and were told we were getting). We didn’t feel like eating so much that evening and divided one of the steaks across the middle (not ideal, you want a whole steak on your plate) so they did last us two meals, but it was just a bit annoying to have been given misleading information. The overall experience may lead us to try Saxmundham Waitrose next time.

Come through for a delicious burger (and a beer or wine) at Salter & King Street Food. They have a great selection of local meats to take home and cook, but their street food stand outside also makes a fab burger to sit and eat or take back to the beach.

Venison pies from wild venison box absolutely delicious. Rest of box still to go! Brill service as ever - ordered online, delivery on time, contents well packed - all arrived in excellent condition. Thank you Gerard and all the staff.

Really great quality meat. The only downside they sent me a Christmas turkey with a BBE of 24/12! However they got back to me, explained the issue and refunded that part of the order, so a good resolution.

I did a day trip to Aldeburgh from where I live near wimbledon and part of the reason was to buy meat from somewhere I have been going to every time I come up and I have to say we have only used the duck breasts which were amazing and the meatballs. The meat balls were sensational and only wished I had got more. In all the years I have been coming to Aldeburgh I have never had a bad piece of meat and will definitely now look into ordering if I cant get up for a while

Good quality meat but knocked a star as we were poorly advised on the quantity of meat required. Advised that 300g of steak mince wouldn’t be enough for two people for a Spaghetti Bolognese so were sold 450g. It was the end of day, and clearly they were trying to use up the days stock. As I thought it was way too much and about enough to feed a family of 5. Know your portions guys - it’s why we shop with you rather than a few doors down at the Co-Op....

Excellent Butcher's friendly knowledgeable staff. Good ranges of top quality meat eggs vegetables pies etc. Came up on holiday pre-ordered our turkey pigs in blankets eggs bacon was all ready for collection well done to all.

Took the day out to Aldeburgh today and happened to stumble upon this butchers and deli. Went in to see if they had any provolone cheese in stock sadly they didn't but what they did have was some lovely looking burgers and beer cured bacon the burgers barely shrunk and had an amazing bite and flavour.
