Reviews of Suffolk Food Hall

Great place for quality food plus a good cafe with indoor and outdoor sitting overlooking the River Orwell and the bridge. Had a decaff tea and coffee which were good flavour. Scone was very nice too!

Wonderful range of Fresh meat, bread, vegetables and fruits all sourced locally and their own farm. Attached large hall with a great selection of household items, books, children's toys and many other items. A very interesting area to wonder round. Good coffee shop, they are building a new seating area out side. A great place to stop off for a break if travelling on A12 west side of Orwell Bridge. I have done a review of the food hall next door. Have a look 👀😉

Lovely breakfast today at the cookhouse. Presentation of food exquisite and staff smartly dressed and friendly. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

Had afternoon tea which was delicious.
Friendly staff and very clean throughout.
Shop has some lovely things, although, most over my budget, but a great place if your looking for something a little unique for a gift.
A really lovely place to go for a ride out for a picnic with family.
Really impressed on first visit.

Highly recommend The Cookhouse for food and it's views. Both absolutely incredible. Decent vegetarian selection too, and not the usual cheese on toast 3 ways! Very impressed.
One problem, service. Team forgot to take our order, forgot that we needed cutlery and then delayed in payment. Manager was apologetic and said a discount would apply, it didn't. Looking at the service staff, not 100% sure they really know what they were doing, or supposed to do. No urgency in speaking with customers. I think if we were not all mesmerized in looking at the view, complaints would be left, right and Chelsea!

A variety of products such as veg, fruit, bakery, deli, butchery, wine, beer and nibbles and much more. There's also home ware and garden accessories.
Cafe inside. Seating and play area outside. Restaurant open Wednesday to Sunday (book to go) also had small independent businesses: cooking class, hairdressers and something for feet.
Toilets. Wheelchair and pushchair accessible. Toilets too. Big car park. Nice setting. Some bits are expensive but nice to see it all

Such a lovely place. Great seating space outside and views. Super selection of gifts, baked goods, fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses etc. Lots of parking and play area for kids. Will visit again.

Lovely place and shop with some vegan options. Didn't eat or drink from the cafe this time, but pre-covid there were vegan options in the cafe (drinks and cakes).
I recommend bringing your own chair to sit on the grass. There are tables but all were taken when we were there.
The views are lovely with the Orwell bridge to the left and Orwell county park opposite, over the River Orwell.
There is a small kids climbing frame and a large bounce cushion. Pack a towel and spare socks for kiddies because no footware is allowed on the bounce cushion and it's surrounded by sand.

Great range of foods and drinks.
Delicious freshly cooked range of breads, cakes and savoury pastries. Lots of lovely fresh local vegetables.
Lots of local food brands to choice from (chocolates, sweets, Crisps, nuts and cooking supplies)
They have a lovely play area for children and a cafe so it can be a great trip out for all the family. Enjoy a seat in the grounds with the view of the Orwell bridge behind you.
Definitely recommend

Love SFH but decided to have a treat and try the lamb burgers (6 for £13) the offer included 6 free rolls (usually £3) when at the till was informed the offer was only available with a loyalty card! Needless to say this will be the last burger treat from SFH! (they were tasty though!)

Very good place for a visit. We ate in the restaurant, I had the pork belly which was excellent, but bizarrely it didn't come with any potato so a side order of chips was necessary, a creamy mash with it should be offered, not an extra, otherwise I would have given 5 stars

Some beautiful views and a lovely orange juice.

A great place to spend an hour or two on a Sunday afternoon, lots of bouncy fun for kids , a decent little plant nursery, a tasteful homeware store and some great local produce in the food section. Only downside is high prices, £18 for a little glass plant spray? Overall though, a great location with beautiful views down the river Orwell.

Lovely selection of homeware and food, in gorgeous surroundings

You get what you pay for at places like Suffolk Food Hall, and what you pay for is always of a very high standard. This is the benchmark all farm shops should follow.

We popped in for lunch and both enjoyed our toasted sandwiches and tea. There was a food hall and gift type area but gifts were very expensive

Amazing breakfast in restaurant and very accommodating staff, even though we had not booked. Will definitely return.

Love their lamb, beef, pork chops and vegetables. Definitely best place to buy quality food

Location overlooking the River Orwell delightful.
The furniture, though, is somewhat redolent of a 1960s cafeteria. The only thing that was missing was the sound of the chairs scraping on the floor.
The service was quite slow. We were shewn to our table at around 12:45. The drinks arrived about five minutes later (acceptable). We ordered our food just before 1:00 pm., and then waited till 1:28 pm before our meal arrived. Not acceptable.
The experience was saved by the cuisine. Excellent, mouth-watering. It could not be faulted.

Having tried Breakfast and Afternoon Tea, just planning when to book for Dinner.
Had a wonderful breakfast here over Xmas period. Lovely, tasty, local produce served. Great relaxed atmosphere and amazing views up the River Orwell. Pleasant, cheerful and attentive service.
Have recently had Afternoon Tea, birthday gift vouchers from my daughter. Again, wonderfully tasty, home baked food. A feast! Thoroughly recommended.

No discussion about it. Wonderful one of a kind desirable establishment. Don't miss it.

Go for it you won't be disapointed

Multiple shops under one roof. Great for the foodies among us. Lovely bakery and good coffee and cake to eat in.

Decided against a Sunday roast and went to the Suffolk Food Hall to see if we could get a table. Didn't have to book as we were only a party of three. Food was delicious, took a bit of time but that was actually a positive thing as the view is so good. Gonna be a go to place every so often when I take my folks out for lunch again.

What a lovely place with some really unusual products both food and home. Helpful staff, lovely coffee cafe and garden. Looking over to Orwell bridge. Easy parking and access look forward to going again. *****

Fantastic produce on sale here, although quite expensive. Very good quality, bought some truffle cheese and local strawberries which were delicious.

Love walking here and having a coffee after my shopping. It's not the cheapest place around but you do get what you pay for. Quality!

The Suffolk Food Hall is an lovely shop, There is a fab selection of artisan food, I recommend the sausage rolls. A coffee shop. A garden plant shop and florist. There is also a fantastic shop selling household items and gifts.

Love coming here, sitting outside just chilling with a beautiful fresh scone and a coffee ,served by the most delightful staff. Thankyou
S. W.
Food took to long to be cooked. Views of location fabulous

Ice creams here are amazing but thoroughly disappointed 6 yr old having arrived to find this year they aren't stocking dairy free ice cream in the ice cream hut.

Went on a Sunday with high hopes and good friends. The latter didn't disappoint. The former, well they were dashed. Perhaps we should have checked the menu but even so we were surprised not to see anything remotely resembling a roast. The menu was confusing and poorly laid out. Dishes were labelled as big, small etc with confusing dark and light picking that could easily be missed. It looked like the toner had run out. The steak was super expensive and came on a bed of coleslaw. This was all you got for your hard earned £26. A very small portion of chips (delicious tho there were) set you back £4. The kid's chips were the same amount for half the price. Bizarre.
Service was very slow (they were a chef down but tjis wasn't relayed to us) and despite friendly waiting staff the whole experience was frankly lacking.
This our my first time and sadly we're not in a rush to return.
