Polite, friendly and helpful staff. They will help you find the right cut of meat for the meal you want to make. Maybe not as cheap as supermarkets, but. quality surpasses them all.

Amazing sausages and burgers, a little more expensive than the supermarket versions but worth every penny. The back bacon is thick cut and is perfect for that morning cob or full English . I have never been disappointed by any pack of eggs, joint of beef or pork, steak or pork pie etc that I've bought from this shop. The staff are friendly and helpful, what more can I say, there is a damned good reason why there is often a queue!

I popped in last minute after finding this butchers on Google. I desperately needed a good staple for a diner party. The lady was very helpful and I bought a large beef steak pie which was absolutely amazing. All our guests raved about it and I'm so glad I found this place. Although I Iive 15 miles away, I'll certainly use this quality butchers again.

Everyone must visit this Butcher's shop. Chris, John and the friendly staff who all appear to enjoy their job as they are always laughing! You must try the pork and stilton sausages and Pork Pie that they make on the premises. Yummy! Quick to respond to the British weather you can be assure that they will have for sale everything you ever new for a Stew or BBQ. Far better quality and value. Once you purchase meat from here you will never go back to the Supermarket

The second-best pork pie I have ever tasted. A tad too much pepper and a tad too little salt, which could be rectified by a little more jelly and the pie might benefit from a slightly reduced cooking time so that the pastry yields a little. But I tasted real pork, which I rarely taste, in a 'pork' pie. Yum.

Perfect. There's nowhere else I'd rather buy meat. Prize winning sausages, home made Pork Pies, lots of game, great cold cuts and real meat. This is a genuine local butchers . . . No meat wrapped in cling-film on a sanitary towel here 🙋

So......I've been doing slimming world for over 2 years...(it works I'm nearly 4 stone lighter) I heard about the slimming world sausages and I was very sceptical as if SW themselves cant make nice low fat sausages how could someone else ! How wrong I was !! They are chuffing amazing. I dont even feel like I'm eating a low fat sausages. They work out a 1syn per 100g so roughly 1syn each and they are so worth it. I do a sausage tray bake with them and its banging. One of our favourite dinners. Thank you for rescuing me from SW cardboard sausages !!

The tastiest pork pies I have found. Proper "Melton Mowbray" pies with the PGI certificate to prove it. The quality of the pork is excellent with just the right amount of seasoning. The pie crust and jelly hold together well on slicing. I used to buy Bailey's pies from Melton until they closed the bakery on retirement and although I have tried other local products, nothing else has come close until now. I actually think that the Gamble and Hollis pie may have the edge over the Bailey's. Purists may disagree with me but try freezing after slicing. Allow to defrost naturally when you take it out of the freezer and the quality is still great. Not quite the same as freshly bought but far better than any supermarket offering. My thanks to Jackie and Mick at Ackwa Ltd in Syston who recommended that I try them. They supply Gamble & Hollis with their cleaning products and spoke very highly about the quality of their meats as well as the pies.
