I had to cook a last minute meal for friends that required meat. The other reviews listed here really frightened me, but after the co-op on cally being empty of beef, I turned to this shop. Initially the meat counter doesn’t come off as aesthetically pleasing as the Waitrose counter. I thought the meat looked a bit dirty or off colour compared to Waitrose, and it’s obvious the meat is kept at very high temperatures if not wholly frozen. I asked for half a kilo of beef, which the butcher kindly diced for me right away. I went home and realized it was really high quality beef, absolutely zero fat. The Persian stew I made (gheymeh) was more delicious than when I made it with waitrose’s diced angus beef. The shop keepers were also very friendly and accommodating. I’m not really sure what the issues from the other reviews were as I was really pleased with my experience. I picked up some nice fresh parsley as well. I’ll definitely return here instead of travelling all the way to the Waitrose in King’s Cross from now on.

You can have variety of meat items here. It's an Ethiopian store. Guys are nice and helpful. But the price is too high. For example, 1KG beef costs £6 there, whereas at Dalston Kingsland butcher shops take only £4.
