How butchers used to be, a great selection of high quality meat at good honest prices for what you are getting. The queues are there for a reason

Relax Guys, keep calm and keep on! A little awkward coming here during the pandemic period - the staff seem on edge and it all feels a bit tense to me. That said, I'm intentionally supporting the William Rose Butchers through this unusual time because I don't want to lose this shop; so I can forgive them their edginess - after all, pressure does strange things to people. Ordering my 2020 Christmas Turkey, was trickier than it needed to be because they initially wouldn't let me order on Saturday (they said it was too busy) - I managed to get it done in the end, and even bought a goose for the first time 😃 William Rose Butchers continue to sell superb free range and organic products of excellent quality - their cost to value ratio is hard to match. An outstanding butcher that I'd highly recommend!

Honestly, by far the best local butcher's around. Really knowledgeable staff, fresh seasonal produce and the prices really match the quality.

Great butcher's really friendly staff. Helpful with portion sizes and serving suggestions. The quality of meat is great. You can honestly tell the difference and it's filling too. The prices are reasonable and will make you question why you used to buy from a supermarket!

The staff are always very polite , they are also happy to answer any questions that you may have concerning products . I have noticed that even when they are busy due to a long queue of people waiting outside this does not interfere with the personal service . I would definitely give this butcher a try because l have never been disappointed with the items that l have bought , and l think that for the quality of the items that are available you get good value for your money .

Love the minted lamb chops and chicken potions, however, the customer service can be a bit hit and miss. I find the owner and the older male members of staff friendly and helpful. There are couple of members of staff who in my opinion could do with a lesson in good manners. One female member of staff I find quite rude and abrupt and the other is a young ignorant and inarticulate blonde man Both of these characters have left me feeling quite uncomfortable after being served by either of them. Good manners cost nothing.

This is the best butchers in the area! Staff are lovely and always helpful even when busy. I'm not sure why some reviews say the staff are unhelpful, they literally can't do enough for you. Last summer I bought a whole chicken but when I went to cook it a day or 2 later it had a funny smell so decided to bin it. When I went in the following week and asked if I'd stored it wrong they were adamant on giving me another fresh one instead

Great Butchers, reasonable price. Very good Cumberland sausages and some good specialist beef at times. Staff are friendly and helpful. Be prepared to queue for a few minutes on weekends.

This is a really brilliant butchers. They supply top quality organic meat - we go there all the time and have never been disappointed. The beef cuts in particular are excellent and they always help guide us to the right cut for the occasion. What’s more is they are always courteous and serve every customer with a smile. Very happy with the service. Really friendly atmosphere and the staff were also informative and helpful. I bought a T-bone steak. Meat is grass fed and left to hang. Fantastic quality and a real joy to cook. Flavour was amazing and so tender. Fantastic choice of all the different meats and poultry. I will definitely be working my way through their range. Great local butchers with a huge selection. Always a queue out the door – probably because of the selection, the quality, the service, and also because the prices are great too. Most people buy meat from the supermarket because they think it will be cheaper and easier, but William Rose proves otherwise – it’s easy and extremely affordable to shop local. They take cards but make sure you’re spending at least £5 otherwise you’ll need to pay in cash.

Easily the best butchers in the area. Great meat with lots of different cuts available. You can often get cuts that you can't get elsewhere (we had ox cheeks recently that we couldn't get from the other butchers in the area). Staff are always very friendly and helpful. At weekends it's not unusual to see customers queued out the door, which goes to show just how good it really is.

Probably the best butcher in SE London .We always get our Christmas food here and any other important family 'get together warrants a special trip too. Basics and unusual luxury items are always available . Can highly recommend the Wild Boar leg that we had this Christmas, will definitely have that again - very special! I went there without knowing this butchers excellent reputation. I just recently moved to East Dulwich and I was looking for a local butcher. This place already makes you hungry when you stand in front of it and have a peek trough the window. The queue was so long that people were standing outside of the shop which should already speak for itself. But this shouldn't put anyone off because they are well staffed and always provide an excellent and quick service. The quality of the meat is undoubtedly great, my personal favourite is the Beef Tenderloin. The prices are not your typical large supermarket two for one kind but it's absolutely reasonable and I would rather eat less meat but when I do then the proper quality meet from this place. So as I am lucky enough to be within five minutes of walking distance this is my meat source number one. Guys please keep up this great work!

Brilliant butchers unfortunately not on our doorstep so can't get there on a weekly basis although we do try at least once a month and everything we have ever bought in there has been amazing. No one could ever complain about the quality and the staff are lovely too. .

Quality free range meat, exceptional value. Never found them pricey. Lovely atmosphere and great service. I've been buying meat from them for over 5 years, always happy. Delicious sausages. Reliably sourced, real good food you can trust!

Reading the review about the chicken below I find it very hard to believe as I get my chicken from there all the time, I select the chicken myself and have it portioned and they always cut it they way I want it to be cut. As regular organic chicken buyer I have never purchased an organic chicken under £10.00 from William rose. This is my favourite butchers by far, very friendly staff and are always willing to put them self’s out to give you the best possible service

Usually an excellent experience going to this butcher but upon my last visit I encountered a level of abrupt rudeness from one of the female servers. The men are usually very polite but this particular female made us feel very unwelcome. I asked for an item and was barked at to do something else before I was to recieve this particular item. I was shocked as I'm not familiar with this happening at this butchers. Upon arriving home we came to find we were given a very poor quality piece of meat, with a very ugly mark on it. That completely disappointed me as I see that William Rose tends to have great, polite service when I usually go there.
