I recently discovered slow cooking meat in a smoker (thanks Burnout BBQ) and have struggled to find the quality of meat and quality of butchering this needs. I took a punt on Alders because they had the highest google score and got a whole 4Kg brisket, 2Kg of pork and some sausages. All were exceptional quality, the service was great and the price was good as well. Worth the trip

Lovely staff and great products. I go there every week for my weekend "breakfast treat" and I've always been welcome really nicely and friendly. The bacon and sausages taste so good that makes breakfast the main meal of the weekend!!! Much better than a Sunday roast!!! Lol (although roasts are also nice) I love it too because you can buy what you need and not waste anything. And you can take your own containers for it!! :) Top place!!

The best organic butcher in Oxford, and had been for many decades. The sausages are truly scrumptious, and the quality of the perfectly hung meat (both venison and beef) is unbelievable and worth the extra cost. The butcher and owner is a serious art historian. Ask if copies of the book devoted to his collection is still available for sale.

Paid £16 for a 2Ib Shoulder of pork, 1.5Ib mince and 6 sausages so quite expensive. Expected better quality and service for than price Mince was very fatty and was given 7 sausages when I asked for 6 The chap wasn't particularly friendly or helpful as is normally the case with most butchers shops

Lovely service by knowledgeable butchers. Always had everything I've needed. The only butchers in the area happens to be a great one. Don't let the street view image put you off; inside is clean and well presented with some other local producer like mustard and chutneys.

When living in Oxford this was my butcher's of choice whenever I was looking for both good-quality minced beef bacon coupled with good old-fashioned smile-in-the-face service. Both of which, let's be honest, are a thousand leagues above from the usual smelly crapola horse meat and shite service found at Tesco Metro, which is just around the corner.

Ive lived in oxford all my life and this butchers has been open as far back as i remember. Friendly, good prices and local meat - support local produce!
