Reviews of Strawberry Fields Lifton

You can get a lot of things under one roof, fresh local vegetables and fruit, there's sweet and savory bakery items, a butchers and frozen meat corner. I always stop and spend a lot of time in the stationary and gift area. You can spend a long time there, try some of their lovely food in their own cafe or buy some food and sit outside on a bench near a field. This is definitely an amazing farm shop, the displays are beautiful they have their own and local produce, lovely alcohols, jams, honeys and snacks. They have a toilet on site and spacious parking.

Really great farm shop, lots of parking spaces. Great for the little ones to Pumpkin Festival was in when we were there and the kids were having a great time. The goats, cows and not sure if they were Alpacas or Llamas were very easy to see, pet and feed. The shop was fantastic, full of delicious fresh farm produce at very reasonable prices so you weren't getting ripped off. Cafe on site was full so obviously very popular. We live in St Austell but, will definitely be visiting more regularly, especially in the run up to Christmas for gifts as the shop had some lovely stuff.

Really nice place very friendly staff, clean, modern and had a great time. Lovely restaurant, fab ice cream. Shop is full of allsorts of interesting things, and includes fresh meat, deli, cheese counter. Cherry bakewell to die for, Can pick Strawberries and lavender, there's baby goats, piglets and cows that you can see and pet. Bouncy castle and play area for little ones and a working wind turbine in the field. Can't wait to come back

The maize made was good fun, the wild flower field was much smaller than we expected but still got a decent bunch. We had afternoon tea, and the service was pleasant but slow, we were sat for half an hour before someone served us and even then we had to wave them down. The food was great, typical farm shop affair with high quality meat and fruit, definitely filled us up. The farm shop was very well stocked, high cost but that's the way farm shops are so weren't surprised. The quality seemed very good indeed so a case of you get what you pay for. Would recommend and would visit again for a summer day out
C. T.
Lovely experience pumpkin picking today at strawberry fields. It was busy but well organised and staff were so lovely. Definitely wear wellies as it is a muddy day! Only downside was that they had run out of food in the food truck but the restaurant and shop were well stocked.

Oh my oh my, best roast dinner I have had for ages!!!! Same quality on two visits Feb/March 2022. Tender chicken, fresh veg, and amazing roast potatoes brilliant. Update in June, roast lamb fantastic. Friendly staff and efficient service, thank you.
S. W.
Since previous visit, the restaurant, cafe and toilet area has been completely refurbished - its super smart. The format of the shop remains much the same (maybe slightly smaller), but always with something special and thoughtful to buy. Lovely range of local produce in the food store - again always so easy to find something to 'treat' yourself to 😊.
This has long been our stop off point for breakfast on any trip out of the county, and we always look forward to our visit.

Stopped in for afternoon tea and wasn’t disappointed. A veritable smorgasbord of delights from a mini Cornish pasty to Eton mess in a glass. Even the mini cream teas were Cornish with the jam before the cream even though we were just in Devon! Would definitely recommend.
F. F.
Wonderful farm shop with a big variety of local produce, meat, vegetables , baking and other food stuffs. Very friendly staff, ample parking, coffee shop and take away pastries, coffee etc. Absolutely recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A lovely farm shop but compared to other farm shops I've been to it was very overpriced In my opinion (£8 for a pie). They had a small outdoor play area for kids which is good. Not a bad menu for food paying pub prices. Sadly the outdoor tables were uncleared and didn't seem a priority compared to indoor which you could book. They did have a gazebo up so you could be sheltered from the weather. Not a bad place to stop but I've been to better farm shops.

Amazing event of pyo sunflowers in their massive sunflower feild. We pyo wild flowers as well which was lovely. We had a breakfast for our meal and it was one of the best I've ever had.
R. L.
The breakfast was very filling and the sausages were fantastic (great flavour and not too fatty). Good helpings all round. The potato was a bit undercooked which was a little shame but the rest was great. Slightly pricey but you do get a good amount.
D. K.
Lovely shop and good restaurant too. We didn't eat this time but have done before.
Love the mix of food and beautiful gift type items in the shop!
C. A.
Upmarket farm shop and café with a vast choice of locally produced foods and products. We browsed the shop but we had come for the breakfast. Honestly priced for the very high quality of locally produced and processed food. I can't honestly remember having a nicer breakfast anywhere. Airy, charming and interesting environment to eat with well spaced apart tables and lovely views. Spotlessly clean everywhere including the loos, they have invested heavily in making this a very nice place to be. Polite, friendly and helpful staff. We'll definitely be back.

Have been coming here for a few years now when visiting Dartmoor. I think it's a fantastic, inspiring business with really fresh and great produce. The cafe and restaurant have always impressed me. However visited Sunday at around 3.30 for a coffee and to try the pumpkin latte Sunday. All staff were friendly. However the pumpkin Sunday didn't look like it was advertised in the image. When served to me the waitress went to get a spoon but randomly picked a spoon up from a table that had been used. Put the spoon next to my Sunday which the spoon was covered in used food. She said oh that's vile. I did find it amusing but at the same time surely common sense would tell you to get a clean spoon from the kitchen not pick up from a used table with used cutlery. She was apologetic but not great.

Good place to stop en route.
Pros,
Great location, car charging, lovely staff, nice food and great building and shop.
Cons,
Pets aren't allowed inside, food more than a cake has to be in the restaurant, too loud to take a Teams meeting, could benefit from better ventilation.
D. F.
Cafe was big, clean and welcoming. Your order was brought to your table. I ordered lemon drizzle cake and a coffee. Cake was so lovely and fluffy and light. The lemon curd was mouth watering. Best lemon drizzle I've ever had. A slice of cake a coffee and a tea came to £10 which is expensive but worth it as it was homemade fresh and delicious.
H. D.
Lovely place, lots of lovely sunflowers but not the same variety of different colours this year compared to last year & so many were not fully grown at all. Service for a coffee & cake in the eating area was very slow. Everything else lovely as always 🙂
G. G.
Fantastic farm shop with lovely outdoor space for children including sheep and lambs. The produce is fresh and there is plenty to choose from. We were staying locally in self catering and ended up taking our food home with us because we bought from here. The butchers were really helpful and friendly. Worth a visit any day, great to see the processes and talk to people who know what they are doing.
L. T.
One of my favourite farm shops, ever. Huge range of fresh produce, along with all kinds of jams, chutneys, cakes, pies... I only visited while on holiday but if I could do my weekly shop here all the time I would! Stop by if you're in the local area, you won't regret it!
l. m.
Went for pumpkin picking which was 5* what let it down was the coffee shop. When I asked for a table for 4 of us I was told that I should of booked as they are fully booked up which was funny as we got a table in the main dining area that was near enough empty and there was a few seats in the coffee area which was empty when we arrived and still empty when we left!? Considering they have lot's of staff walking about the place and it wasn't that busy it took awhile to get our stuff which was just coffee, tea, milkshake and cake also the floor around the main hall was very dirty. We would go back for the pumpkin picking side of things but definitely not to the food side of things unfortunately.
M. H.
The best farm shop ever. Amazing local produce of all sorts and fantastic onside bakery at good prices. Best pasties ever and great bread including fantastic spelt loaves and great cakes. Worth a visit every time you pass
S. L. S.
The best farm shop you’ll ever visit. The shop is huge and sells lots of gorgeous food, including pasties, scones, cakes, meats, bread and so much more. There’s also a big selection of homeware, gifts, toys and cards. There is also a cafe/restaurant and very posh, clean toilets. Plenty of parking and outdoor seating.
J. E.
Not sure what it was with today's visit. The food was edible. Just seemed to lack flavour (apart from tomatoes that were covered in pepper) bacon quite fatty. Between our party we did a lot of swapping about making it ok for all. Why didn't I say anything at time you may ask. But like I said it was edible just disappointing. We always stop here on our way to Cornwall a few times a year. Atmosphere felt subdued. Will we return. Yes and hopefully its back to how it was and this year was just a blip.
L. D.
Good pit stop just off the A30, lots of parking, nice toilets, portion sizes were reasonable, coffee was not great.
Only 3 stars because of the afternoon tea we ordered, scones were not great and our cream had a hair in it; when we ask for a replacement we got the same pot but with the top layer scooped off rather than a fresh portion...
J. T.
Great experience, from the moment you step into Strawberry Fields you realise that it's quality. Excellent toilet facilities. Had coffee and cake, very nice. Purchased a few Halloween bits and a couple of Cornish Pasties (would be rude not to).
A. D.
Very nicely set out. Lovely farm shop. Restaurant looked good. Stopped for food, but there was not much choice for me from the menu. Considering this is a farm shop and restaurant the vegetarian options are pretty dire. You would expect with vegetables from the farm to have a more interesting menu.
Having had to order a toastie to get something suitable for me, I ended up with a panini which was not what I ordered. I couldn’t eat it all, it wasn’t good. Afraid we won’t be stopping here for anything more than coffee and cake. Such a shame.
W. W.
Positives:
- Cute cows outdoor next to shop
- Great selection of food & drink
- Large amount of parking available (including electric charging)
- The staff were friendly
- The ice cream taste nice
- The Pre-made pies were nice
Note, if you plan to go to the restaurant check what is served and at what time. Main meals are only served between 12pm-2:30pm.
E. L.
We were first time visitors and our friends had booked a table for lunch. Really enjoyed the meal which was good honest food. A Sunday lunch like your mum used to make . We'll be back!
c. w.
This is the best customer service I have ever had. I had a problem called and spoke to Hayley she sorted it straight away was understanding and helpful I highly recommend for quality of products food in the restaurant and definitely the after sales service. Thank you Strawberry fields.
p. v.
Went to the pumpkin fest, really good fun, well organised with good coffee and snacks. The magic Martin show was great!
A very enjoyable experience with an excellent farm shop too.
N. H.
Great food in the restaurant. Very good size portions. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Very clean modern loos. Shop is expensive
D. J.
Cracking roast pork lunch on a Friday lunchtime, slightly after peak time in order to benefit from post rush staff capacity - then into the farm shop for local fare, this place is excellent, the staff are helpful and more importantly happy, there are good washroom facilities and I think the EV chargers are at 76KW too
M. W.
Amazing big English breakfasts ….. other meals are available and are good as well… varied and interesting farm shop as well if not a bit pricey, but I guess all farm shops are ,….. recommended and well worth the de tour of the A30
W. W.
We all had a wonderful afternoon tea, we booked it for 2 Birthday celebrations. The food was delicious and the staff were amazing. Thank you
L. A.
PumpkinFest was brilliant. Staff made it even better for going the extra mile to make the day one to remember for our little one. A great farm shop too.
D. W.
Fantastic Cheese Poughmans well recommended service was excellent can not fault the service and staff. Plus plenty of fresh vegetables and everyday shopping, and you can get fresh milk in your own container or buy a glass bottle from them and reuse this has many times has you wish. Great for the environment, very good selection of local produce from all around Cornwall 😃😃😃😃
G. D.
Lovely place to stop on the way down to or back from Cornwall. Great food. Good portions. Two podpoint chargers (both have 1x Chademo, 1x CCS)
P. H.
Bit pricey but you get what you pay for, good home produced and cooked produce we visit every year and buy quite a bit, lovely bread and will slice for you if you require, and the scones YUMMY.
O. N.
This place is very nice. It does get busy, so make sure you book in advance, especially on a weekend, otherwise you will sit outside :)
Portions are huge & tasty, and if you are only tiny (like me), bring doggy bag (they are huge, trust me!)
I'm always impressed with the farm shop and the produce. Also, you can pick your sunflowers on the field, how cute is that?!
Also it's awesome that most of the food is local. Love this place!
S. D.
The newly refurbished farm shop is well stocked with local produce - from eggs and milk to fresh fruit and veg, alcohol and gifts. Prices are over inflated but ultimately their target market is the wealth of tourists who flock to the area. If you're local, it's really only somewhere for an infrequent treat. However, the one upside is you're supporting British farmers.
There is also a cafe and restaurant on-site serving coffee, cakes, cream teas and light bites to Sunday lunches.
Overall it's well worth a visit if you're prepared to spend some money.
S. L.
Terrific farm shop and restaurant
We stumbled across this lovely farm shop and restaurant while we were on route from Torquay to Penzance. We spent some happy time browsing through the goodies at the farm shop and had a terrific lunch - delicious roast belly pork and cauliflower Stilton soup. The portions were generous, the staff were friendly and the prices very reasonable!
M. B.
Lovely location just outside of Launceston Cornwall over the border in Devon. Excellent farm shop with an amazing variety of delicious food & gifts. Butchers, Bakers & they even sell candles. On site they produce their own jams, eggs, strawberries, pies, tarts, bread, the list goes on. The cafe/ restaurant is also very popular, handy for motorhomers that don’t want to cook because it’s a Britstop with lots of room, grass or hard standing.
M. E.
Strawberry Fields is an amazing farm shop truly unique. Such fresh quality products are hard to find especially with an open kitchen where you can watch the bakers at work! I really enjoyed shopping here with my family. We also stopped here for a cream tea, we still ate ours the Devon way (jam then cream) and it was outstanding like the scone had just been baked. Really looking forward to our next visit.
W. S.
Pleasant staff. Had a meal of fish and chips in the restaurant. It was beautifully cooked but way too much on the plate for us. Ate the haddock which was delicious. Shop is well stocked, and everywhere was very clean. Will be back for breakfast tomorrow.
S. M.
Had a fab time here, the kids loved it and we got some really great pumpkins. The kids said it's the best one they've been to yet. Thank you :)
K. S.
Really lovely place, well worth a visit and lots to keep the family occupied for a few hours. The restaurant was so busy, being holiday time, so the food wasn't as hot as we'd of liked...however the quality more than made up for it! 😁
H. M.
Absolutely fabulous farm shop. Great butchers, , jam being made on site , great selection of vegetables
K. C.
Great place to stop for a break while travelling down to Cornwall. Much better than the generic service stations. A bit pricey but great quality produce. Lovely cafe and v clean toilets
D. P.
The food was delicious as usual and the staff lovely but the acoustics in the restaurant are dreadful making it too noisy for conversation. Luckily we were able to have lunch in the coffee shop which was a bit better.
C. H.
Lovely place. Fantastic shop and restaurant. Great food, choice and prices. Toilets excellent. Friendly, helpfull staff. Wonderful ice cream and plenty to see with free parking.
R. B.
we normally stop on way home to see family but today wasnt best experience we had.
wife ordered gluten free breakfast but others got their meals before us, waited over 40 minutes until we asked what happening was told it was busy and kitchen waiting on toast, but it wasnt stupidly busy and as i said others got meals before ours think order was forgotten or lost.
Meals arrived no toast had to ask for it again got it in end but not sure wifes bread was gluten free looked like mine was given free drinks. Food always good quality but too long coming.
R. K.
Kids loved PYO strawberries and Maize maize! Place is as clean as a farm could be. Kids enjoyed bouncy castle. Place isn't too crowded which is a plus.
E. T.
The food I tasted from here (Bakewell tart, scone, strawberry jam, turkey breast) was quite good and homemade, scones were the best. It was quite hit and miss with the prices (some things reasonable and some completely not), overall it is quite expensive and not really different to other farm shops in Devon like Greendale in Exeter (not one of my favs either!) but I can see why visitors like to come and have a look!
P. H.
Gorgeous place, visited here 4yrs ago too. Food is delicious and staff very friendly. Toilet block immaculate. Thanks guys 😁
P. M.
Have been visiting for several years - always been a bright cheery place. Not so much now - crockery dull and plates smaller. Also this time Sautéed potatoes with breakfast were hard and inedible.
K. B.
Very busy - always sensible to book ahead. Nice food. Indoor and outdoor seating areas.
S. O.
Lovely Family day out. The maize was brilliantly themed for this time of the year. Hope it's as good for Christmas.
C. K.
Amazing farm shop! Well worth a visit. Next time we'll have to try the restaurant
卡.
A huge shop, and restaurant, with lots of quality local produce. We were also lucky to join their Easter egg hunt which includes a tractor ride into the forest and a mini guided tour of the farm en route.
k. s.
Not impressed.
Purchased tickets for pumpkin feast.
Paid for pumpkins (charged for 3 large, not large in my opinion)
Never been anywhere for pumpkins where you pay to get in and pay for pumpkins.
E. W.
Stopped for breakfast on way to St Ives staff very attentive food great.booked Sunday lunch on way home was very busy but lots of staff ,Sunday roast food was really good thanks 😊
H. B.
Good food that definitely won’t leave you disappointed!
B. P.
Great farm shop with everything you'd expect and ten times more! Also a take away food van had a lovely burger 🍔
R. G.
We always stop here if we are in the area as the food is superb. Its fresh and of very good quality and not only that but its pretty well priced too. The new farm shop is huge and is well done with some amazing produce
K. H.
A lovely time as usual for when we visit. Pumpkin Fest this time, very qrll organised. Great entertainment for the children!
B. S.
Great shop. Lovely local produce. Cafe and restaurant very busy.
G. K.
Amazing breakfast with excellent service. The farm shop is superb too!
P. S.
Very nice shop and restaurant, two EV chargers but 1 not working when I visited 12.10.22.
K. L.
Good place to pick up a fresh quiche or pie nice butchers there as well as a really good cafe.
S. W.
I visit Strawberry Fields fairly often and appreciate the quality of their produce and the friendly staff. However, stopping briefly for a coffee, not for the first time I was very disappointed. I asked for a flat white and what I was presented with was in no way a flat white - it was an incredibly milky latte, pale as can be with barely a taste of coffee, not to mention the finish which was a thin layer of bubbles, not the velvety and smooth finish characteristic of a flat white. On top of this I was charged £3.65, which is extortionate. I've had far better coffee in central London for less than this, not to mention a couple of places in nearby Launceston. Love the place but you need to drastically improve the quality (and price) of your coffee!
M. S.
Wonderful food in the restaurant. Farm shop nice but a bit"designer". Nice roasts and desert's.
F. A.
Had an amazing brunch here on our way home from Cornwall. We found it by a Google maps search and saw the great reviews. We weren’t disappointed! We had a lovely table, all the staff were welcoming and friendly. The waitress went down to my daughters level to take her order which made her happy as she liked to order. I had a harvesters breakfast which was delicious as was my flat white. We then went to the farm shop to buy a few things gs for the journey home! We will be back for fruit picking on our next visit!
T. B.
Afternoon tea. When we booked we were told we would have to be outside as we were holidaying with a dog. Unfortunately when we got there it was raining and the outdoor space wasn’t covered. 2 of our party had to cancel their booking to leave with the dog and lose their £5 each deposit.
The afternoon tea itself was lovely and the staff were great. However I would suggest that they provide shelter outside if they are going to take bookings and deposits knowing that there will be a dog.
A. c.
Went for pumpkin fest....much more to see and do than thought .....kids had a blast.
R. B.
Went to the pumpkin picking week in half term. We had a fun day. Should have worn wellies though!
G. M.
Good parking clean and tidy polite staff restaurant on site plenty of choice can be a little overpriced
D. H.
Good local farm produce, quality meats and nice butchers! Pleasant atmosphere and helpful staff. What more do you want?
S. B.
Very spacious restaurant there. Good selection of food on the menu. Good value. Large shop with huge selection. Strawberry picking was very good and easy to access
j. m.
1st time for us and it was lovely. We had the afternoon tea pasty sausage roll and sandwiches and cake and the was all cooked to perfection and all tasted great. The service was great from beginning to end very friendly. Will be calling again
V. C.
Great place. Enjoyed the maize maze while the car recharged. The cafe and shop are full of good stuff too.
C.
Great farm shop, worth the drive out there. Took a visit near towards Halloween for the pumpkin patch, will be coming back again this year to get more pumpkins! Great fun, just advise to get there in the early days of the pumpkin patch being open as they will go quick!
m. f.
Nice venue, friendly staff, afternoon tea ok, but has better
S. B.
Great breakfast and Vanessa (I think this was her name) was a great laugh, a credit to strawberry Fields
A. D.
Lovely imaginative superhero and Halloween figures scattered across the pumpkin fields. 🎃 Our 7 year old girl was delighted. Excellent restaurant.
L. N.
A fantastic place to stop en route to Cornwall. Excellent, locally sourced, cooked breakfasts.
G. P.
Lovely helpful staff & a lovely lovely meal ,food excellent, very highly recommend, it's worth booking a table they seem to get very busy.
Z. S.
Cool little Devon farm shop. Nice fresh food, drinks and souvenirs sold here. There's even a little bakery at the back of the shop baking bread, cakes, pastries and ,of course, Cornish pasties.
D. G.
Excellent food, caters for dietary requirements. Fantastic gluten free. Nice shop for fresh produce and I understand they are expanding to incorporate more plants and garden items
G. O.
Being a regular customer for years. Was very disappointed today with their luke warm tasteless roast turkey lunch
j. m.
Had the big breakfast . Am absolutely full. Sausages were gorgeous. Why have i missed this place . Lovely food was a bit busy for the staff but they coped well. Will be coming back. Excellent.
S. R.
We went for a Sundat Roast yesterday, it was the best Sunday roast I've ever had. It was served promptly ( considering it was busy) and the meal was hot ( not warm like most places I've visited) we had the small roast which was plenty for us. Roast potatoes were nicely cooked, the veg - carrots, broccoli and cauliflower cheese were delish, and there was plenty of meat, I had turkey, husband had beef. Very nice, we will definitely be returning. 🙂
The cream tea was a bit disappointing though, not enough jam or cream for 2 scones. Barely enough for one scone really. Just enough to scrape on both scones. 😥
C. B.
Really lovely day picking our sunflowers. Staff are always really friendly. Will definitely return for more of your events. Definitely unique. Farmshop is always very well stocked and stock is beautifully presented. Ice cream was fabulous! Super happy every time we visit. Sausage rolls are insanely good - I keep coming back for more.
b. “. M. d.
It's a fantastic place, however the restaurant part is very slow. We had breakfast and coffees ordered, the breakfast eventually came the hot drinks came after breakfast nearly an hour after arriving! The staff are lovely. Don't think you should of expanded your tables if you can't serve them!
D. A.
What a beautiful little place easy to get to. Lovely food veg meat all sorts there for every one . Will definitely be going back there
M. B.
Super slow take away, we had a breakfast baguette and it was disappointing, the bread was hard and bacon was mostly undercooked rind/fat. The sausage was very tasty!
We were very impressed with the shop, lovely fresh and local produce, we will definitely visit again, but probably give the take away a miss!
S. C.
Lovely choice of home made deliciousness!
Pies, bread and cakes Lovely! Bit pricey when compared to the local supermarket but definitely 100% better quality.
D. B.
Accommodated our table of 8 very well at late notice, great tasty Paninis and Toasties! Fantastic range of cakes, ciders, gluten free range in the farm shop!
J. D.
I've been hanging off writing this review, but after a third disappointing visit I'm afraid the benefit of the doubt has run its cause. A near 40 minute wait for for 2 cold drinks and a couple of cakes? Totally unacceptable, I work in this industry and would be absolutely mortified if my also large extremely restaurant left people hanging for half of this time! Sadly this is the 3rd time in a row we have had similar slow lack luster service from this restaurant. The food and drinks when they did arrive were really nice, but nothing amazing!! Totally love the farm shop side of the business can't fault it as it's everything I love about a shop! Sadly I'm not sure if I would return to the restaurant again, in the worry that we would receive the below par service again.
N. E.
Wow great farm shop with pick your own 🌻 strawberries 🍓 and corn 🌽 Sunday dinner must be special long ques
J. P.
Festive afternoon tea was delicious. Highly recommended.
S. T.
Great produce but a little bit more than I would normally pay
N. W.
Amazing afternoon tea. Great service. The food was gorgeous and plentiful.
S. H.
Love shopping here! Come here at least once a month, awesome butcher and bakery! Yum! I'll be back!
S. A.
Just a brief stopover on way home to Wales - and are we glad we did!! Just a ploughman's and a sandwich, great quality food, (and generous portions too!). Very reasonably priced, staff friendly and helpful, everywhere we went was clean and tidy. We descended at lunchtime, the restaurant was filling up but we were lucky enough to be squeezed in with an apologetic "I'm afraid that if you want hot food there's a 20 minute wait". Who cares!! - you shouldn't worry about waiting, by the looks of what was coming out of the kitchen it's well worth the wait 👍The farm shop was well stocked, fresh bread/cakes made on the premises as well as their own pickles/jams & chutney's. Fresh fruit, veg, milk, and a wide variety of homewares - only sorry that Strawberry Fields isn't closer to home - we'd certainly be calling in on a regular basis - well done to everyone involved 👏👏👏
C. M.
Nice place and great pasties. Kids liked the animals
T. M.
Lovely breakfast, different sizes to suit everyone!
J. F.
Great place to stop off the A30.
Fantastic breakfasts, good selection of homemade pies and cakes. Well stocked farm shop with homemade and artisan products. Nice gift shop.
We were even able to charge our electric car at the charger whilst having our breakfast.
Would definitely stop here again.
B. T.
Called in twice for a coffee break and being a coeliac the first time had a gluten free cheese scone with butter and last week had a toasted gf bacon sandwich, delicous, superb bacon. Here's a pic after I had a bite out of it.
B. P.
Totally amazing for Halloween! Best place, way better than Trevaskis
D. T.
The best farm shop I have been to!
J. D.
Did the maize maze today and it was really good fun, daughter enjoyed it, then played on the bouncy castle
M. A.
Lovely surprise on our way to Bodmin. We bought some cakeand strawberry.. ipossible to resist!!
C. A.
Beautiful roast, friendly staff but such a shame they were short staffed and we waited over an hour for our food. Maybe management should take a few tables out to allow for less bookings to look after their staff and provide a better service for customers.
E. A. D.
I've been there several times and will go again. The food is lovely, the staff polite and the place is clean. Unfortunately, on this visit, the sides of chips for the panini's arrived well before the panini's and one of the panini's was delivered to the wrong table and we had to wait for another to be prepared. Not being able to eat as a family was disappointing. However, I'm prepared to try them again because these are difficult times.

Our favourite pit stop on the way to Cornwall. Breakfast was great, as always. Good covid measures. The farm shop is expensive, but lovely for some holiday/homeward bound treats. My children think the fresh OJ is the best around.
B. M.
Great choice, delicious pasties!
J. P.
Excellent range of quality local produce. Lots of free range and organic food. Friendly staff.
P. M.
Just love this place for Halloween they do so much for children. Loved the tractor ride and getting our pumpkins
C. G.
Pick your own sunflowers, amazing place to visit, brilliant farm shop and restaurant.
J. L.
Love this place and the grandchildren always enjoy it and can run off some steam to x
t. h.
Such a wonderful place, the additions and changes are really well done. The little piglets were an added bonus x
T. K.
Beautiful store, containing beautiful produce, beautifully presented. A little pricy but the quality is very good.
L. Y.
Not been for three years!! Wow the changes are spectacular very impressive. always was good now stunning
n. t.
Shop was nice .....lovely Serena was on the till very polite and helpful, was a bit confused about the fruit and veg as no labelling about where it came from .....gift shop as ok but nothing that I thought ohhhh that's nice or original....cheese counter looked lovely and the sales person was attentive.
Butchery looked good and Aaron was helpful.
Now the restaurant......not good
Took awhile to take our order but waitress was lovely, drinks came Hot Chocolate looks amazing and the Milk Shake was good.
Ordered cheese burger and chips....
I have no idea where they got their chips from but they tasted awful most were uncooked and pale they reminded me of chip you bought at the cheap shop ....29pfor 5kg for a farm shop who grow their own it was shocking, the burger its self was good but very very greasey with the cheese the broich had not been toasted so just went sloppy.Left with a slightly queasy stomach.
Would go back to the shop but won't eat there again.
J. V.
Good breakfast and great produce in farm shop. Quite expensive.
R. C.
Went to Strawberry 🍓 fields for the second time.first time I turned up in my artic to buy some strawberry jam with champagne absolutely fantastic. Second time I went with my wife Angie over the Christmas period 29/12/21 and had a fantastic time everything is fresh produce I bought Roddas full milk that been done that morning with recycled bottles and you can go back with that bottle and refill at a brilliant price. Brilliant restaurant brilliant butchers and may I say try the home made Cornish pasties I said to myself I won’t eat the pastie until I get back to my hotel in Bridgwater I lasted the car strawberry fields car park 👊😀 @@@@@@@ gorgeous👍 I am going to say something corney as Arnie would say I will be back 🤣😎
A. G.
Spacious car park. A fabulous farm shop with plenty of choice for everyone. Lovely fresh produce. The Toilets are clean.
E. H.
Lovely farm shop restaurant with friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious! A must stop on the way on holiday.
G. W.
Great restaurant, wonderful food, the staff are friendly and the shop is lovely. Well worth a visit.
C. D.
Very nice afternoon for a mother's day treat with 4 generations. Bit disappointed that I was told it would cost more for peppermint tea though
C. “. C.
Lovely place, huge selection of goods, just waiting to eat my scones 🥰
d. h.
Lovely food,.local, freshly made.
Excellent service quality and prices.
Attentive table service - nothing took much trouble.
However could do with some waterproof covered entrance for the restaurant.
N. B.
Didn't visit the restaurant as it was too busy. Shop had so many lovely food and gift items, but perhaps a bit overpriced in my opinion.
J. W.
Visited this farm shop several times last week whilst holidaying in a cottage nearby. All the produce was beautifully displayed , top quality and super tasty. We also ate in the restaurant and this did not disapoint. Prawn baguettes were especially tasty. Before we set off for home on Saturday we stopped to stock up on some meat. We were served by the lovely Mark. Nothing was too much trouble for him, he cut all our chops to order and was cheery and chatty, giving us lots of tips on how to cook the products that we were purchasing. It was lovely to be served by someone who clearly enjoys his work. Will definitely return for more lovely produce if we are lucky enough to be down that way again. Highly recommended this farm shop.
S. H.
Very flavorable curry would 100% recommend going there but the shops were very pricy
M. B.
Lovely and impressive farm shop with cafe and gift shop. Great butcher and fish counter and it's very obvious that so much of what they sell is made on site or by themselves. Certainly worth a stop on the way down for your Cornish holiday.
a. w.
Super breakfasts, great farm shop, and helpful and friendly staff. First rate all around.
D. E.
Maize maze was fun, with a cool little quiz trail for little ones. Farm shop is amazeballs, with lots of delicious fresh fruits and vegetables. (Got us a chicken & ham pie for later in the week). Restaurant was brilliant, very spacious, clean, friendly staff and food was yummy.
R. E.
We had booked and arrived on time, but still had to q outside for 10 minutes, lucky it was dry!
Lunch menu is short, food was good, but expensive for what it is.
I will overlook the order error.
It is a very nice place, very popular and well staffed. One way system is reasonably good.
4 stars is a fair score.
C. K.
Booked a table for 9.30 for breakfast but after a horrendous journey on the M5, they rebooked my table. We were there 3 hours after the original time! Breakfast was great, absolutely what we needed and all was so friendly.
L. R.
We have been coming here every year since it was just a little cafe with freshly baked bread. I could not imagine what it has become. Extremely successful for a reason. Perfect food every time, amazing staff and a huge farm shop to boot with fresh and local produce.
R. T.
Excellent meals and a superb farm shop. Would like to live near here.
b. v.
Lovely place for anything from lunch, snacks or just a coffee, very friendly staff and very helpful too.
Lovely farm shop with loads of on premises cooked food and very local meats.
K. B.
Just off the A30 at Lifton Strawberry Fields Farm Shop and Restaurant is a great place for a meal, snack or takeout. Very well set up, with spacious dining area, excellent service by attentive and efficient friendly staff. I had roast of the day, beef with all the trimmings, superbly cooked and presented. If you find yourself passing by, it's well worth a visit.
J. S.
First visit to Strawberry Fields. Really nice... apart from being charged £3.40 for saffron buns clearly marked £2.95 and 4 small loose carrots charged at £1.85 {price of bunched carrots}. Wish I checked receipt before getting home. Will go again but check receipts!! ..
A. P.
Nicely laid out. Range of goods that you'd expect. Very expensive though.
A. W.
Stopped here to have a lunchtime meet up with family sitting out on the benches. First time visiting here and would definitely go back. Plenty of food options, with a hot food station for those who want burgers, chips, jacket potatoes and hot dogs etc. Or you have the option of popping into the farm shop for sandwiches, hot pasties, sausage rolls, coffee and more. The farm shop itself is brilliant with such a good range of stock.
Would definitely recommend Strawberry Fields Farm Shop.
O. B.
Friendly staff and good portion sizes but the service was lacking a bit. We arrived mid-afternoon without a booking but were still seated straight away, however, it then took almost ten minutes before anyone took our order despite plenty of staff coming past our table. The food arrived quickly (faster than the drinks!), and the scones were lovely. The pasty was a bit heavy on the pastry but decent value. I'm not sure if they'd just had a big rush before we arrived or were still adjusting to Covid-related issues but the service just seemed a little disorganised which affected the experience.
L. W.
Great afternoon tea
s. T.
Love this place but felt it wasn't up to its usually high standards
K. M.
Really good for the children. Choosing your own pumpkin and carving it there is definitely worth it.
B.
Brilliant farm shop. Fill your own milk stations and OJ dispensers. Fresh and frozen food including pasties. Well worth a visit if you want alternatives to supermarkets. As you'd expect it's more pricey on some items.
S. G.
Lots of seating when we arrived. Roast portion was very big. Sat outside - no table service so difficult to grab attention of staff times but when we did they were very accommodating. Lots of parking.
J. G.
Received a surprise delivery fruit and veg, scones hot cross buns, scones, breads jam and clotted cream and orange juice! The bread was so very fresh! As well as scones and hot cross buns! None of the fruit and veg used yet but all arrived in A1 condition. Special thanks to my daughter Mel, and cannot recommend the freshness of these products enough!
Delivered with a big smile from a young gentleman! Thanks to all concerned.
T. B.
Stopped for Sunday lunch on our way on holiday. Always do. The food is second to none whether it's for breakfast or lunch. Although very busy the food arrived quickly and was top notch. The standard is always very high. The staff are always very polite and efficient. If you're on the A30 and hungry, don't pass by. You won't be disappointed
S. G.
Very attentive staff and good portions. Price not bad. Worth a visit and do not forget to visit farm shop after!
S. K.
Really enjoyed my visit, great farm shop with a good range of interesting products.
Had lunch in the cafe and it was delicious. Every thing well managed from a covid safety perspective and the staff were very nice and working jolly hard!
Would advise booking a table if you want to eat there.
G. M.
One of the best farm shops ever ❤️
L. S.
I was taken here for a birthday treat. We had the really luxury afternoon tea for six people which was delicious. My only negative was we were charged extra for a top up cup of tea. I thought this was penny pinching by the company. Other than that we all enjoyed the experience and would visit again.
M. B.
Good food, gluten free menu, I had g/f roast and husband had a breakfast. Gets really busy and booking recommended. We did manage to get a table. Lovely selection of bread, meat, veg and have a look around, too many items too mention. Could do with a shady area for dog owners in the car park.
M. R.
Lovely lunch for 4 adults. A bit disappointed with the sshop. Much too hot in there. I had to go out before I had finished shopping for fear of passing out. Could have spent much more than I did. Desperately needs either fans or air conditioning. Come on the owners think of your staff and customers!!!!!
R. W.
Honestly can't tell you how fantastic the afternoon tea was here. We had a normal, vegetarian and vegan one and it was phenomenal. The effort they went to to ensure that the vegan one was a close as possible to the standard one was insane. Service was also great, and the teas are so cute on their little picnic tables. Highly recommend for something a little different!
L. W.
Really nice food and grate fun for kids
S. d. b.
Great place to visit, lovely shop, place to eat and drink
A. S.
Amazing food, definitely worth the visit. You can even order online for home delivery throughout mainland UK!!!
S. S.
Absolutely delicious you can so tell that everything on this plate was made from quality farm shop ingredients. Never disappointed here and always spend a small fortune in the shop to treat myself, everything I love marvellous range of cheese, fresh bread preserves and gin! Perfect 🥕 🧀 🍞 🍸👌
S. V.
Amazing carvery I don't normally like them that much. Very lovely thoughtful service, great with our toddler. The shop isn't cheep but the quality is great, and they have the yellowist yolked eggs I have ever eaten. A fantastic spot
K. J.
Stopped off for breakfast this morning on our way to Cornwall. Just off the A30. What a lovely place. Had a traditional breakfast, vegetarian breakfast and poached egg on toast. Extremely tasty and 3 empty plates, so 3 very happy customers. Toilets were spotlessly clean as well. Nice gift shop and deli area to browse around.
R.
The people here were so kind to my Japanese wife and prepared tendon for her Simmered Miso Beef Tendon dish. Made her day!!! We stop here to charge the electric car sometimes. Huge range of local products.
F. D.
Never miss an opportunity to visit this fine establishment of were traveling along the A30. The place has a lovely farm shop with loads of good quality produce, though quite pricey.
You wouldn't want to visit the farm shop without a little diversion into the restaurant!
The food is amazing. Good portions, delicious taste and reasonably priced too.
As always the staff are pleasant and helpful at all times.
If you are planning to eat it may be prudent to book your table during busy periods before going as you may be disappointed and not get the chance to eat there.
D.
Used to be called Strawberry Fields a Family owned and run large farm. large shop and restaurant, selling home baked bread, buns, cakes, made on the premises. Their own free range eggs, their own fruit and vegetables. The restaurant is large, best to reserve a table before your planned meal as this restaurant gets very busy, most days. All the meals are cooked and prepared before your very own eye's. Everyone is welcome and all the staff members are a smiling, friendly bunch. Nice clean toilet's and large free car-park. Enjoy your visit.
H. H.
Not only do they have a good range of good food and drink but in these current times of social distancing they've put serious effort into protecting their staff and customers. Hand washing stations at the entrance for customers. Distance markings on the floor. The check out staff are behind a screen, and between customers they were cleaning down. I even saw them cleaning the handles of baskets.
Well done Lifton Farm Shop.
D. P.
We enjoyed our first visit. We had a lovely lunch and then purchased some yummy food from the bakery and farm shop. The egg custards are the best in the West. I would highly recommend a visit its well worth it. We are definitely stopping here again on our way back to Cornwall. Very easy to find with loads of parking.
A. B.
Went in today to treat the hubby to an afternoon picnic for 2. Unfortunately the online booking system was a bit misleading, so after booking what I thought was an afternoon picnic I'd in fact only ended up booking lunch.
After checking the website a lovely member of staff (Louise G) apologised and went out of her way to make us up our own afternoon tea, slightly adapted but perfect.
Would recommend.
L. P.
Went for lunch with a few friends. Food was delicious, and plenty of options to suit different dietary requirements. It was quite busy inside (around 1pm) but plenty of measures in place to be COVID-safe even post-lockdown (staff wore masks, hand gel stations were present, QR "sign in" at entrance if using the NHS COVID App, etc.).
We visited the shop afterwards and were impressed with the variety of foods, and the youngest of the group enjoyed seeing the "live hive" in the wall near the honey shelves and the "squeeze your own orange juice" machine. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Would love to visit again in the future! :)
N. M.
Perfect for stop off for tea and cake or more if your hungry. Food hall is well stocked with local produce.
W. S.
Yummy food, good range of products in the shop. Family friendly.
G. O.
What a fantastic day. I think it's great fun. Only thing I would say is by giving people time slots, it means everyone piles in at the same time. And there are crowds. Whereas without that people would trickle in at different times
Very friendly and helpful car park marshal. Loved him he was so nice
All staff were lovely
D. J. S.
popped in there yesterday to a)shelter from the rain and B) get a drink, Wow what a place never expected anything like it. Ended up having the Hardy Breakfast, my colleague had the vegetarian option, to say they were busy was an understatement and the lady bringing the food to the tables was working her socks off! The food didn't take long to get to our table and we weren't disappointed. What a find just off the A30 will be returning for sure
J. M.
Fab shop good food very clan and tidy
S. K.
Love meeting family from Cornwall here for lunch. Always lovely food. Only thing I would like to say is it's a pity the baby changing is not in the toilets. Both baby and disabled take time and only one site available.
T. B.
I was always told to judge an establishment by its toilets. How true! Toilets were spotlessly clean. Lovely, friendly and very accommodating staff. Fantastic food, good portions and reasonably priced. We had a browse around the farm shop which was lovely also. I highly recommend a visit here.
A. M.
Stopped here on way home to Cornwall.
I bought a steak and ale pie,
I had the pie tonight and it was probably the best steak pie I have ever had. It was full of tender steak, no fat whatsoever and a rich and very tasty sauce. Absolutely delicious and will stop there again and highly recommend if to all.
M. D.
Great stop off point
Farm shop with great produce and excellent restaurant.
W. H.
Went for coffee. Excellent service. Really enjoyed the whole experience. Great place to buy that special present. Wonderful homemade ready meals. Fantastic butcher and deli plus a superb bakery. A VERY ENJOYABLE OUTING
M. T.
We live locally and like to go for a cooked breakfast sometimes. But if you are travelling down to Cornwall, this is a great place to pull off the A30 and have a break. Good, wholesome food and decent portions. Good shop with high quality, local produce.
h. S.
Farm was organised, they get all range of products from their own Bakery, delli and butcher section. They also display their own produce to buy. They also have juice maker to get fresh juice from fruits.
Overall experience was good but felt too over pricey .
T. D.
A wide choice of items to buy including bread and other edible items.
K. P.
Fantastic breakfast, this is a great place, we will visit again
R. V.
We had a takeaway roast here for Mother's Day on 14th March 2021. We only live a 2 minute drive away from this venue. The roast was practically cold when my husband got it home. We had to reheat them in the microwave. The food was dished out as soon as he got home. Why was it cold when we live so close?!
H.
Wow, what an excellent farm shop!!! Since it's big extension, it feels wonderfully spacious inside and has SO many lovely local products to look at and buy.
There are many local liquors and pickles to choose from, the vegetables look beautiful and I can vouch for the delicious pasties!
The car park is very spacious so there were plenty of spaces even on a busy Bank Holiday Monday.
j. g.
We popped in to have lunch today, as always it was very busy. We love it there. We had the best ploughmans lunch ever. The service is always efficient and friendly. Our waitress even went to the farm shop to find the name of the cheeses we had with our lunch. Consequently we brought some home. Lovely farm shop too, the butcher shop looked amazing.
K. S.
Just love Lifton Farm Shop! Sunday roast is amazing along with everything else on the menu. They're always incredibly busy so worth booking. Proper homemade produce, fabulous bakery, fresh produce and butchers...I always spend and buy more than I intend to but it's all just so good!
L. w. p.
I only went here to make a delivery for them. By what I see and hear its nice place with pick your strawberries and other events throughout the year, tractor rides are sometimes being run. They have a lovely restaurant with disabled access and a huge on site carpark. Go and look at there website for info about event etc and other info you may require 😀
X.
Homemade fresh baked bread and other pastry related foods are well made and taste great with the locally sourced meats and such. The dining experience is good if a bit noisy and congested at peak times. Been going since they were just a small building great to see the expansion and that the child friendly hospitality still stands.
M. S.
Strawberry Fields in lifton Devon is a restaurant just off the A30. Lovely place to eat and shop. The only problem on our visit by coach is they took too long to serve putting our timings out. Apart from that I recommend a visit to this place.
M. R.
Amazing, first time we had been here, car parking a bit random but free of charge, half term week so lots of children but an amazing display of pumpkins and events for Halloween. Blown away by the quality of the produce - absolutely first class with not a tired vegetable in sight, definitely worth a look if in you're in the area
N. H.
Our favourite place to stop when travelling to Cornwall. Huge choice on the menu, all good quality. It does get very busy though.
The farm shop is good as well, especially the fresh pasties
R. S.
Great place to eat ,take the children and grandma and great grandma ,lovely food all cooked fresh every thing grown on the farm ,from potatoes to carrots swede etc ,free range eggs ,even thier own Bees ,seeing jam being made when Covid is over homemade bread buns etc well recommended .AR Cornwall
R. D.
Haven't been there for a year so was a little disappointed that the staff ( who were excellent ) had all changed. The service is good, and the food also good ! I think the baker may have changed or the recepies have, as the bread was a bit dry which was never the case previously.
The toilets are very clean pleasant and sofa's are there if you want a leasurely coffee after your meal, as we did.
C. A.
This place is a 'staple' on a family holiday to Devon, be it for cream tea or a Sunday roast, the food is always spot on. Not the cheapest but well worth the treat while on holiday. Also best farm shop we've ever found!
J. H.
Always good, best produce, great choice.
L. C.
Location, food and restaurant ambience very good. Staff polite and helpful, but it's let down by work in progress to improve facilities and excessive wait for food to be served. I realise it is all freshly cooked, or prepared to order, but the ordering process is far from streamlined with very few tables occupied. Overall, it was a pleasurable experience but there's room for improvement in the restaurant protocols. Yes, I shall go back again.
G.
This has got to be the cleanest, best run, efficient & friendly place I've ever been. The farm produce is excellent and the food is the best value for money you'll get anywhere. I will always make a point of stopping here.
E. C.
Very good vegetarian English breakfast. Especially home made veggie sausage was very tasty. Only downside was the long wait time(45mins) on bank holiday weekend but that's forgiven given the quality.
R. M.
Well stocked shop, very good butcher with local meat which all looked very good quality. Proper bakery with some unusual breads, I tried the chia seed loaf, which was super! The shop also sells gifts, clothing, cards, etc: I found these rather mainstream, nothing unusual or special that you can't get on the high street. I didn't try the restaurant but I hear the Sunday lunches are good and you have to book in advance. Loads of parking. Easy to find off the A30, well sign posted.
H. v.
We went for a lovely afternoon tea which was good , the only thing that let it down was that we ordered chamomile tea , and it came in a latte glass, no spoon , no sugar offered, tea should be served in a tea pot as you can keep topping up your cup.. sadly felt this let our lovely tea down
T. C.
Excellent food so good can watch them baking the cakes prior to eating them.
Like most farm shops a little pricey yet so worth it, currently the place is being extended what with I am not sure but will be monitoring while enjoying a tea and choc fudge brownie.
Mmm mouth watering just talking about it enjoy
L. S.
Went to aldervineyards for wine tasting and asked if they could recommend somewhere to bye local cheeses and products, Tom said Stawberry fields and what a shop we found the cheeses we wanted then saw the beef so we had a full basket with some delicious cheeses to have with our wine and some succulent
Beef we were very Happy with the whole day.
J. H.
Excellent meal in the restaurant today. Well done to all the staff for your hard work on a very busy day.
m. H.
Lovely food but a tad expensive. Sometimes it can get very busy and you have to wait some time for your food to arrive. The Gurt burger is very tasty. Chips are sold separately. I would definitely recommend. The farm shop is lovely too. Locally sourced food, fresh bread and vegetables.
T. M.
Good large breakfast all hot and well cooked, scrambled egg with smoked salmon absolutely beautiful, plenty of salmon and eggs
E. B.
First time today went with my husband to this place, thought the food hall was fantastic - we had a Pastie it was delicious lovely, definitely recommend going here
M. C.
Delicious afternoon tea! Great service. Farm shop had loads of great stuff too.
K. W.
Having seen details in one of Alastair Sawdays's books we called on our way to St.Ives. We are glad that we did. Very nicely laid out farm shop with a good variety of products at the normal prices for this type of establishment. At last we made it to the restuarant where we were welcomed by a very helpful and welcoming young lady. We were quickly seated for our drinks with bacon and egg rolls. Fantastic rolls well worth the cost. Every member of staff we came in contact with was helpful and with a smile. Call here for a super experience.
R. F.
Great cafe, restaurant and farm shop. Outdoor seating and kids play area.
G. C.
Was ok food was good but our lovely waitress got lumbered with a big group so was totally occupied and by the time she got back to us the need for desert had gone. Glad we got our orders for food in first. Maybe big groups should have their own dedicated waitress and smaller tables carry on being served as normal not put aside. Will be back tho to see the new extension.
K. B.
Good meals options and were good sized. There is an amazing range of products in the store.
A. R.
Loved our little trip down too strawberry fields. Can't fault any of our shopping. All very very tasty, little bit expensive, However worth every penny. Looking forward too our next visit.😁
G. J.
Great place to stop and eat. Friendly staff. Lots of gifts in the shop. Overall a super stopover
M. L.
We often eat here when we are nearby. Service is always quick and the food excellent - Sunday roasts in particular always very good, but a good selection across the menu. Farm shop often has a good selection, too.
D. J.
Really tasty breakfast, all of the ingredients were a fantastic quality and the prices were pretty average. Some of the shop produce was a bit pricey but everything is fresh and local and really worth it for a treat.
V. 1.
Having found this place by accident last time we returned from Cornwall, we stopped off again this time and it was as good as we remembered. The restaurant was busy, mostly OAPs it seemed, but we were served quickly and effectively and the food was superb. Highly recommend the Gurt burger with Stilton....sublime. Lots of choice for all tastes and reasonable priced. Far better than a service station yet nearby and plenty of parking.
superb.
L. E.
Great restaraunt truly happy staff butchers vegetables few toys and other things sold here has been remodelled everything has been moved
D. R.
We have been coming here for several years, it is a wonderful place. The restaurant serves good food, and the coffee and snacks are great too.
The shop is brilliant, everything from gifts and art, to first rate produce. It is worth coming to see this amazing array of everything. Plan to be here for a long time.
L. M.
Took a coach party and the service was brilliant.
K. W.
Fantastic stop on the way to Cornwall. Brilliant selection of fruit, veg, cheese, deli items such as quiche and scotch eggs all in the farm shop. Clean toilets and friendly staff. We would definitely stop here again.
C. B.
Reasonable restaurant, nice halfway stop between Cornwall and Bristol. Convenient and just off the A30. We'll thought out business. Shop has some nice food and interesting items, but is very expensive. No cutting out the middle man for a saving here...
A. H.
Really nice place here, lots of local produce, nice looking cafe/restaurant, unusual items for the home and kitchen.
Obviously a bit more expensive than your usual supermarket but fresh and top quality so you take your choice.
Definitely good things here,
Lots of parking and a small kids area to play.
D. P.
Stopped on route to Cornwall. The farm shop was amazing first class staff and first class products. Stayed and had a coffee in the coffee shop. Would highly recommend diverting off the A30 to check this farm shop out or for a pit stop.
A. “. C.
Fantastic family run business on the Devon/Cornwall border. Food in the restaurant is all homemade on the premises and is delicious. Bread cooked in the bakery, meat from the farm prepared in the butchery and a great selection of gifts and items in the shop.
D.
Very friendly place great food
R. K.
Brilliant - a nice stop to have lunch and breal the trip up to Cornwall- Great food at the Restaurant. Great Farm shop - Also has chargers for the Electric and Hybrid cars- Play area for kids as well - Dogs welcome on outside tables - Very short distance away from the A30
B. B.
Excellent service great food had group afternoon tea beautiful display.
L. A.
Great breakfast. Lovely waitress. Great own brand Seville marmalade.
a. j.
The breakfast is always spot on.
We went as a part of a large car group.
Social distancing layout was well in order, and one way systems clearly signed.
I would recommend this place to anyone.
1.
Sorry very late review from last December , we did an online order that we picked up on our way down on a short break in December service was fantastic and food was great even the festive pizza and especially the venison stake.
G. L.
Lovely Staff and Amazing food.I have visited many times and have always had a great Experience, also a kind Member of the Public found our lost credit card and generously handed it in.
Many Thanks to the kind hearted member of the public and also a big thank you to Lifton Farm Shop.
From Gary & Jamie Lyons. :)

Had a wonderful roast pork meal followed by jam sponge with custard and it was very filling. Definitely recommend going they also have a lovely shop selling local products and gifts, shall be going again.
P. S.
Very nice place to visit. But they seemed to have lost our table booking for 9 people and the food and drinks took ages. The drinks over half an hour and the food one and a half hours but it was good when in finally arrived. Will not be in a hurry to revisit
Y. H.
Beautiful, clean, well stocked, farm shop selling locally sourced produce. There is also a very pleasant cafe with outstanding views across the countryside and a restaurant, both serving tasty food at reasonable prices.
L. J.
John martin had a lovely breakfast
S. C.
Really nice place to eat with friendly staff. Shop has a good selection of produce and the meat counter is amazing.
D. E.
lovely big Ham ploughman's. everything you would need on the plate. very enjoyable definitely recommend thus.
S. W.
Disappointing covid measures. We visited today for breakfast. This our first visit since lockdown and were a little disappointed with the measures in place. Hand sanitizer was nowhere to be seen indoors, only outdoors which after you've used it you then need to touch the door handle to enter the cafe, we seen several people not sanitising their hands before entering. You are then asked to fill out a form for track and trace, using the same pen as everyone is using. We were then shown to our table which was next to a walkway by the side and behind us. As my wife was pregnant we asked to move to a quieter area, which the waitress was happy to do and was friendly to deal with. Breakfast was fantastic as it always is, being a local and regular visitor we know how delicious the food is but unfortunately due to the measures we won't be rushing back until things improve. We visited another local cafe a few days before and felt their measures were a lot more comprehensive. In my opinion staff should be wearing masks or visors. Sanitizer should be available inside. Better floor markings throughout the restaurant needed, not just the entrance. And tables need to be more distant from the walkways. I hope this is taken as intended, as an honest opinion of a regular visitor.
S. H.
Amazing self sufficient farm shop, kids play area, restaurant for lunch and more. Wind turbine, solar voltaic field and amazing friendly staff. If you're in the area (or miles away) this is so worth the trip

I had large roast lamb and the meat just melted the vegetables were perfect my husband had the burger with Stilton and all that came with it and he really enjoyed his meal, the service was great too, definitely no complaints.

Lovely food, lovely atmosphere, only thing I would complain about is the service. I have previously left a similar review to this with the same view of the service. It was quite slow, and the toast came out about 10 minutes later than the rest of the food. Other than this I would highly recommend this place

Conveniently located just off the A30, the farm shop has a huge selection of high quality foods. Many are either produced on-site or locally sourced. Fresh fruit and veg, jams, pickles, cakes, buns, bread, pies and more. There are even some children's toys.
The cafe is great space to relax. They do a great hot chocolate. They are also close enough to Cornwall to do a fantastic Cream Tea. The scones were still warm and came with Cornish clotted cream from the company 'R' that rhymes with fodder. We put jam on first of course.

A bit disappointing really. Upon entering the site, nearly all of the outside tables were full of dirty plates. The restaurant was very busy, however the cleanliness of the cutlery and crockery wasn't great. The service was excellent though. We understand there is going to be an update soon. Hopefully they will address the issues that they are having. We shall return later this year for strawberry picking as the place could be excellent.

Really really excellent farm shop, everything you could want and fair price too. Sunflower PYO was fun, didnt use the restaurant but looked and smelled gorgeous. My only winge would be, hand wash facilities outside the farm shop, with soap but the little sinks didn't have water. Hand sanitizer outside other areas though

Beautiful produce. Best pasties ever, because the pastry is so light. The shop is laid out perfectly and there are some lovely farm-orientated books and toys for children. There's a large restaurant and strawberry picking in season.

Gorgeous place to spend time with kids! I haven't shown you great outdoors of this place yet! Yummy food! Highly recommend it !

Fantastic stop off on the way to Cornwall. The restaurant food is delicious and home cooked and the farm shop is great for stocking up on the way to your holiday cottage. A gem of a place just off the A30 and far nicer than a normal service station.
S. G.
Always stop off here on our way to Cornwall, mainly to buy supplies, their bread and cakes are absolutely delicious. Staff polite and friendly. Will be back.
C. W.
This is a splendid place, it has a brilliant restaurant and farm shop, the large full English breakfast is a must, have recommended to my friends and family.
K. W.
We had an absolutely fantastic fantastic breakfast. Staff are great and you always need to pop in the shop on the way home.
D. M.
Always a great experience, strawberry PYO, farmshop and restaurant.

We decided to try the afternoon tea at Strawberry Fields Lifton after seeing it advertised on Facebook, from the pictures it looked very appealing, and well presented with it being served on a small picnic bench.
On arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome and our table was prepared ready for us to be seated, the waitress was very friendly and even earned a smile from our 6 month old. After a short while the food was served and was presented exactly as in the picture in the advert, and came complete with a selection of savoury and sweet confectionery including sausage rolls, mini pastys, vegetarian sausage, small sandwiches, cheese scones, sweet scones, lemon cake, chocolate brownie, apple turnover, mixed berry crumble and a glass of fresh apple juice.
The food was a delight and was very competitively priced, I definitely recommend this as a place to visit for food, the scenery and the service, 5*.

Lovely place and atmosphere. Lovely view from our table. Good GLuten Free scones and cream teas and the non GF ones are delicious and likely freshly made. The farm shop has a great selection of products with a really good bakery

Lovely shop and great food 😋
A. E.
We always stop here whether we are going far or not, just because they have beautiful produce from bread, jams, fresh eggs and delicious meats on offer. The food in the restaurant is well worth trying too.. breakfast offerings are hearty and very tasty.

Cafe and shop are both amazing quality
M. M.
Lovely place with great selection of local food. A good place to grab foodie gifts on your way back out of Cornwall
L. S.
One of our favourite places to visit en route to Cornwall. Just off A30. Used to be known as Strawberry Fields. Good restaurant - often busy so can be a while to be served. Good shop with bread cakes (saffron cake or buns excellent), meat vegetables - and novelties.
E. O.
Great place for breakfast if you're heading out of deepest Cornwall. It opens at 8am and is about 1hr drive from Penzance. Friendly staff and nothing is too much trouble. Turn off at Lifton - first turn off after crossing the border out of Cornwall. Only a few minutes drive but only one sign by the gate in so be ready for sharp braking and a left turn in.
J. G.
Just had the steak and ale pie for tea ! yum best steak and ale pie I have eaten, the bread is gorgeous fresh and really well risen, in fact I may blame them for my spare tyre ! Really though, lovely produce throughout the shop from fruit and veg to home made pasties and pies, the selection of produce is great and so well laid out in the store and with pleasant and helpful staff ! What more could you ask for !
P. L.
Great stop when travelling down to Cornwall. Lovely with the new shop and coffee house too. Such a spread of local wares. Lovely food in the restaurant.
M. M.
Food is outstanding, probably one of the best for miles. Large variety of vegetables and bread and lots of others. All of the staff are chatty and polite. Has many different events throughout the year. Fun for all the family and is an all round great place to go.
R. O.
The Sunday roasts here are mouth wateringly good especially the vegetables which are mostly grown on-site and picked fresh.
Service is friendly and efficient.
Gets very busy s best to book well in advance.
B. T.
Went there for afternoon tea (needs to be pre-booked). The best we have ever had, everything homemade and delicious! Served on a mini picnic table...genius idea. And each month is different. Brilliant!
E. H.
Beautifully presented (and huge) farm shop, selling a wide variety of their own produce as well as foods and drinks from across Devon and Cornwall. Restaurant attached, looks popular for breakfast/lunch!
M. P.
Excellent breakfasts and Sunday lunch. Has become our favourite drop in on our way to Cornwall. Polite staff, clean and comfortable. Well worth a visit.
J. M.
I highly recommend the large breakfast, it will easily keep you fill for the rest of the day. I did not need another meal until the early afternoon having eaten at 0800! Food is fantastically cooked as well and the farm shop has some really nice locally made produce. If you're off to Cornwall and need a pit stop, this is definitely the place!
S. P.
A very popular location with shop and large restaurant. You need to book a table for meals at any time of the year. It is well signed off the A30 . Efficient, friendly staff. A small outside play area for children. Something for everyone.
L. W.
The meal was gorgeous, I had tge crispy beef, staff friendly, lovely atmosphere.
D. W.
Having had literally dozens of meals at Lifton over the last 14 years living only 12 miles away, I can say that the food is consistently first class with pleasant and courteous service at all times. Thoroughly recommended.
j. r.
Amazing food, and a great play area for kids. overall, would go again. infact, i am!
M. M.
Very busy. Waitress had no way of knowing which customers had been waiting the longest. Sausage and mash mediocre. Mash very bland and sausages only just cooked and not browned all over. Wouldn't bother to go again.
S. C.
What an amazing day we had here, searching for the perfect pumpkin...Most were! Climbing on hay bales, carving the pumpkin, these were a few of some of the things available. Good value for money, also we took home lots of yummy food from the farm shop. Thank you to all at Lifton farm shop, my grandson loved it! 😀
R. C.
Just off the A30, and just inside Devon, Lifton farm shop is a very useful and welcome break from a long journey. The quality of the produce is really excellent, and has remained so for several years. We often pop in for a cup of coffee or tea and some kind of homemade tasty thing to go with it when we're on our way from Bristol to Cornwall. Whilst we're there we can stock up on lovely local food to take with us.
There's a fair amount of free parking, and the restaurant is pretty big. Really do check this place out if you're nearby, I doubt you'll be disappointed!
S. D.
Visited for the 3rd year. It is our breakfast stop on the way to Cornwall. Great food, efficient and happy to accommodate big groups. Children welcome.
C. C.
Lovely lunch today, topped up on fresh meat. Also we were helped by a lovely lady on the deli who sorted out an assortment of cheeses for a dinner party. Great service.
R. H.
Great food with friendly and helpful staff in a really relaxing and safe environment. Always a pleasure coming here.
C. S.
Excellent stopping point on the way to Cornwall, actually the front door to Cornwall. Great Restaurant and shop, and of course pasties. Great welcome to a lovely County.
G. C.
Very good selection of lovely products although not cheap.
J. L.
Very nice afternoon tea party with friends and neighbours
m. e.
Food was very good but drinks didn't arrive until we asked about them, which the employee blamed us for the delay.
L. N.
Amazing afternoon tea, this was the festive one but have also had the normal one! Lovely, friendly staff too
S. X.
Quarter of beef sandwich, cocktail pasty, sausage roll, mini cheese scone.
Chocolate covered strawberry, crushed strawberry and cream, chocolate brownie square, lemon drizzle square.
Strawberry milkshake, tea/coffee.
To be honest I would have liked another sandwich rather than all the cake.
L. W.
I love this place. You get food, inside and out. You have an opportunity to buy some freshly grown veggies or recently made jams. Even toys for kids. Bathrooms are clean and the staff is very nice, even though it was packed with people.
J. B.
Great stop off on the way to and from Cornwall. Great for fry ups, pasties and roast dinners. Brilliant farm shop too. Beats a normal services any day of the week!
D. C.
Excellent farm shop and cafe.
G. L.
Lovely breakfast, very tasty with meat from their own butchery. A well stocked farm shop with lots of home produced goods. Well worth a visit.
s.
Good restaurant, nice shop expensive but you get what you pay for.
L. E.
Friendly staff . Excellent food good table service. Has become my favourite place to eat. Spacious parking.
A. C.
We love farm shops and visit them wherever we go in the country. This is by far the best one we've been to! So much so that we took an hour detour just to go again on our way home.
E. J.
Outstanding rack of lamb. Juicy and sweet 😋😋😋
M. J. Y. T.
Great selection of qiality products, local meats, vegetables, cakes and their own baked quiches, pies, pasties and cookies. Don't go when you're hungry!!
R. G.
Lunch stop near A30. Friendly service, good range of unpretentious food. Very busy but overall they performed very well. Much better than the usual roadside services food offerings. Recommended.
V. P.
Excellent, a wonderful choice in the Farm shop also recommend the restaurant first class. Spotlessly clean Covid Friendly.
I. D.
We called in on the way back from Cornwall for lunch after seeing their stand at the Royal Cornawll show.
Friendly welcoming staff and good fairly priced food in a nice restaurant, along side a good well stocked farm shop.
Very easily accessed off the A30 so if you are self catering it's an ideal place to stop on your way down for supplies.
L. G.
Fabulous visit. We had lunch in the restaurant, a big shout out to Mark, who helped us enormously, and a thank you to Laura on the till in the shop
A.
Really good at Halloween with the big pumpkin patch. Farm shop is huge with a wide variety of foods. Cafe is great. Maize maze is really muddy. Need wellies

Great selection off food, friendly staff and good service in the cafe.
We regularly meet here for a family catch up over a little bit of lunch or slice of cake!
D. J.
Would highly recommend this place as somewhere to visit. Cafe is amazing with amazing food and shop has just the most amazing products. Lovely home grown produce and cakes and bread baked in store to die for.
A. H.
Whether visiting Cornwall or heading back home, we always love to stop at Lifton's to stock up on the home made and locally sourced food and drinks. There is also a great restaurant which has good coffee and the toilets are spotless. Overall, a much more civilised alternative to the motorway services.
K. S.
Lovely farm shop, excellent selection, 10/10 for restaurant and staff

I. H. (.
Great Sunday roast, one of the best around, but surroundings a bit like a dinner hall than a restaurant. Overall we enjoyed it and we go again.
C. W.
Lovely farm shop full of fresh bread, cakes and the most wonderful meat pies. I especially recommend the steak pies, they are amazing!
T. C.
A little pricey for some items but the quality is exceptional. Most products are sourced locally and everything looked very fresh. Currently undergoing huge expansion so it will be interesting to see how it develops.
L. R.
Loved, loved, loved. Even though it's about 70 miles to this place, I would do the trip now & then.
Can't wait to try the items we've brought.
C. R.
A good breakfast, just one minute from the A30. Perfect for a stop off en route to Cornwall. Excellent farm shop too.
j. v.
Lovely staff. Especially the girl on the bread counter. The corn bread is amazing I drive there especially to get it once a month and freeze it. The only bread I eat now.
D. P.
Live this place worth driving over 200miles. The Strawberries are absolutely amazing xxx

P. S.
Beautiful produce but terribly expensive!
S. S.
Very popular place. Restaurant actually does home made chips rather than the usual frozen rubbish. Staff were very friendly and professional.
A. L.
Nice (big) farm shop with ample parking and toilets. The homemade food is excellent.
B. D.
Great time, we have a 12 and a 6 year old and they loved it. Great staff, fun times and great food.
G. M.
Currently a 'safe' well organised spacious area to shop, with usual high quality produce. No cafe or coffee shop available yet, but there is a self service drinks machine in the farm shop.
J. E.
Best food stop on the A30 if you're going westbound. It's quicker to get to than some service station but better food and cheaper. Also if self-catering good place to stock up for self-catering.
P. 2.
Huge range and lovely food. Not too expensive for a farm shop. Lots of other interesting stuff too. Also has restaurant and nice toilets. Stop here instead of a service station or do your shopping here.
C. T.
Excellent meal, very good value. Lovely farm shop with plenty of variety. Good place to stop when driving to Cornwall
A. P.
Great friendly service, atmosphere was good. All food we had was fresh hot and reasonable; burgers and peasant goujons tasty.
