Reviews of Hare Hatch Sheeplands
A. L.
Best garden centre in the area, great value and with a really friendly owner. The farm shop does some fantastic pieces. The garden centre itself is a fantastic local business and far better quality and value for money plants than any of the other garden centres in the vicinity

We like to support this place as they have been victims of the council jobsworths for many years. The owner and all the staff are really polite and friendly. They have a good stock of healthy plants and loads of cacti and succulents. Cafe is simple and clean with good food at good prices. They do a great value cake and coffee deal in the afternoons.
A. L.
Just having a look. Coffee shop looks OK, big all-English breakfast for less than £10, shop looks as it did. Probably good produce, but a bit expensive for my tastes.
K. L.
Had a very tasty sausage roll and coffee. Friendly staff in the restaurant/cafe. Was very tempted by the good selection of cakes.
Farm shop is well stocked with interesting stuff.
Good to see the gardening bits getting back on track with a growing selection of winter bedding plants and hanging baskets.
S. E.
Lovely quiet place to eat with a wonderful calm feeling
Long varied menu ,and all day breakfast for £6

Love to browse and shop at Hare Hatch. Frozen goods, butchers counter, fresh fruit and veg, cakes and biscuits and more to look at. Well worth a visit.

Looked on google for the opening times, seems they are incorrect as my partner was outside I rang and spoke to a gentleman who opened the shop back up for us to get our dinner.. was so so nice of him :) amazing food and great service.

I'm not sure what to make of this garden centre. It has all the regular things you'd expect to find. But outside was cactus grave yard which was a bit odd. Prices appeared average to high, but it was still busy. The café looked inviting, although we didn't stop. I've used the farm shop and butcher in the past. A bit pricey but good quality and a nice change from supermarket food.
R. W.
The ready-made meals in the farm shop are superb. Superior to supermarket meals. Honestly, try them. For our St Valentine’s Sunday lunch we had crab cakes, duck in juniper and zest sauce and chocolate and salted caramel cheesecake. Yum.

One of my favourite Garden Centres. Cafe with the best bread pudding in Berkshire! Welcoming staff. Excellent Farm Shop. Events - brilliant!
V. P. S.
Good selection of plants at reasonable prices
We enjoyed looking at the fresh produce and treats in the farm shop.
Staff were welcoming and knowledgeable.

Great for gluten free and vegan food. The veg lasts longer than most supermarkets and considering the saving on petrol and time, for me it's more cost effective and easier to go here than it is to drive to one of the bigger supermarkets. Staff are always friendly and they have little trollies for young children to help out shopping.
L. K.
Always love coming here, great for fresh produce, pies, meat, vegetables top class. Very village shop feel love it.

I found this gem in lockdown 1 and shopped here whenever i needed to without any issue. They have amazing artisan and normal produce, always fully stocked and fresh. best chicken breasts we have ever eaten, they had full stocks of flour and yeast and i was outsourcing to friends! w love this place and regularly stock up to send elderly relatives a care package and they honestly love it. thank you for being amazing to the community and providing such friendly and efficient service. everyone knows you guys work your socks off.

It is such a wonderful bonus to have a placelike this nearby
The staff really care about the plants as was evident by the primroses being shuttled back and forth between fain squalls.
The farm shop is a foodies playground.
This place is obviously run by a tea that enjoy and take pride in what they sell.
I will be going back

Nice friendly, helpful, place. Lovely staff at the cafe and shop. Bruno, the manager, is a really nice chap too :) The cake portions in the cafe are massive, the mushroom soup is delicious !! Vegan and Vegetarian friendly, especially in the shop. I used to go to a chain in Windsor for Vegan/Veggie pies but they have everything I need here and more, plenty of choice too. Loose vegetables can be bought in paper bags so not so much single use plastic. Highly recommended.
W. L.
Great cactus selection with and without dangerous spines, with and without flowers, sized from tiny to bigger than a big cat. My favourite garden centre of the bunch nearby.
A. K.
I really enjoy going to this garden centre. Very local family run business. The farm shop is really good too at the moment in the run up to Christmas as you can find things I haven't seen for years.
D. W.

Interesting, small, farm shop. Busy cafe and ok garden centre.
B. L.
Wonderful farm shop with a wide range of fresh and frozen produce along side cupboard staples. There's is also a butchers counter in the back of the shop and they also have frozen dog food.
J. R.
My friend and I had a lovely relaxing meal and beverage in the cafe recently. It was immaculately clean and the service we found, helpful and courteous. We will definitely be making a return visit.
J. M.
Despite lockdown there was plenty on offer in the shop and farm shop. Always excellent quality and good value for money. Cant wait now for the cafe to open for that most welcome cup of coffee.
g. b.

Still in the recovery phase, with less stock than in the good times. As always a good choice of cacti and succulents, as well as the usual spring flowers and plants.
M. H.
Went to sheeplands it was safe with masks social distancing lots to see and do plenty to buy restaurant on site hot and.cold food with drinks also hot and cold eating inside and outside in garden(sheltered)
M. M.
Always an exciting assortment of plants on display and the farm shop is a gem.
I. G.
Excellent breakfast especially the fried bread.

The Butchers inside of the farm shop has some of the best meat I have found. Nothing seems to much for them and they always have good stock even after the recent change around. There are also some very good ready to heat meals that I love for lazy nights in. I also always find a few good bargains that I can not resist before I make it to the tills in the farm shop. I wish there were more shops like this around.
R. L.
I love visiting here! Whether we are in search for a new addition for our garden or just a cream tea at the cafe, we always manage to find something here. The staff are friendly and helpful to a fault.
We always managed to find something in the Farm Shop to bring home too!
Dog friendly cafe is very accommodating.
L. J.
OMG I use to be a chef a long time ago, I have also tried lots of restaurants throughout the uk, I have also tried lots of butchers, but the other day I bought some pork chops from the farm shop at sheep lands. I have never ever ever tasted meat like that in the last 40 years, it is absolutely magnificent. We could not believe it you won’t get anything better anywhere else believe me.
P. L.
Not only is this a place that sells a brilliant range of plants the staff are very knowledgeable.
There is a shop where you can choose from a great range of fresh fruit & veg plus a brilliant butchers which has is much fresher that the supermarkets & get a lot more for your money. I highly recommend it..
R. B.
Even though they've had to change a lot of the original outlets and go back to a smaller garden centre it's still worth a visit. The food shop has a good butchers and beer selection plus they sell the COOK range of frozen food. The cafe has a good full english. Oh and they also sell plants and garden things.
M. L.
Love this garden centre and farm shop can always get what I want. Lovely place and staff really helpful and wonderful.
M. W.
Their plants are very healthy and reasonably priced. Good customer experience
E. D. H.
Good amenity, with fun events.
Great coffee shop in a converted greenhouse!
All the usual graden centre stuff, family run, reasonable prices. Much nicer than the 'corporate' place over the other side of the A4.
K. B.
Brilliant place to bag a bargain and now you can have a coffee in the outside seating area.
J. A.
Very quiet..which was good for me..a fayre going on tomorrow so probably busier then. Love the farm shop..
G. M.
Very good frozen food to choose from.
Lots of fresh vegetables and meat.
Garden centre not appealing

Sheeplands is great. It's like one of those village tourist attractions that is immensely entertaining but a bit run down. If you can forego the sanitised, duplicated Wyvale experience you will find a treasure trove of housewares, seasonal gifts and quality toys (they have a great range of Melissa and Doug wooden toys, for instance) and many niche and small company products you will have trouble finding elsewhere (Yes, whatever your taste you will find the good, the bad and the ugly as well). There is a permanent small farm animal zoo, cafe with soft play (a couple of quid, bargain), connect 4, mini library and wheely carts for under and over 3s separately. At the moment they have 2 waterwalkers spheres and plastic rink ice skating out doors, both for a fiver which is a bargain. A full blown restaurant, good food at a decent price. It is regularly busy and can get packed on the weekend. They stage plays, have a fresh fish man (check his hours, though) have really friendly staff who seem genuinely interested in being helpful, a farm shop to die for, local produce , beer, specialist food, clean loos, good parking and , oh yes, a garden centre! Yes, it's a bit worn around the edges, but that's part of the charm. Really, go there!
K. G.
Very friendly and helpful especially in these difficult times.
They have a good range of food, everything we've had from them has been very nice.
R. S.

S. S.
Fabulous garden centre plus in spite of the fact that the council constantly hassle them and threaten to make them demolish bits! There is a lovely farm shop, fishmongers cafe and even a antique shop!
F. W.
A very nice farm shop with great selection of produce, groceries and meats!
K. L.

Best garden centre in the area. Masses of stuff for the garden as well as an impressively sized farm shop-style grocery section.
D. A.
They are doing lots of work here at the moment, so not much stock and looks very tired. Hope next visit will be more rewarding.
M. M.
Still have some bedding plants. More other plants now as well. Shop okay.
P. J.

s. s.
A pleasure to shop there. Lovely plants and great service
S. W.
A wonderful local "shopping mall" with a focus on entertaining children, providing a meeting place for the older folks and good value to the rest of us. Sadly under threat from local government.
D. B.
I really like the coffee shop, here. It makes for a good afternoon, with a stroll around the garden centre and farm shop
T. R.
Never not a good visit. We frequently visit here for the farm shop, and I particularly recommend visiting around Christmas time!
F. D.
Love their freezer section as well as fresh produce and preserves
A.

B. J.
Fantastic friendly staff and quality products. Regretfully their range has been curtailed by Wokingham planning department.
C. “. T.
Good collection of cacti and succulents :) also interesting selection of grown, caught and bought foods
i. P.
This place had a sense of community until the council destroyed it. Which is typical of an thing the council does. They all should be shamed.
K. M.
