J. 7.Great fresh produce, friendly helpful staff, all the meats, great pies and meal deals, eggs, fruit and vegetables, pasties, cakes and cookies. What more do ya need? All reasonably priced.
H. L.New to the area and been trying steak pies from a few local butchers. Ordered one yesterday to be collected today and it was by far our favourite!! Will definitely be going back for our next pie night and after reading the other reviews we are now excited to try to the lamb!
J. B.The meat (sausages especially) is top quality, full of flavour and really good value for money. And the pies are quite possibly the nicest pies I've ever eaten. They should really be award winning. If you're ever in the area (York races for eg) you must try them!
E. W.A great place to get meat, pies and hot beef sandwiches! We have been for a few years and visit every week to get our meats. Shaun and his team are friendly and helpful. I love coming to the local butchers as you can ask for any cuts and they’ll happily accommodate! Occasionally, I’ll ask for pigs trotters and Shaun will save them for me to collect the following week! You can’t get this service from the supermarket!! Their homemade pies are delicious! They make steak pies, chicken pies, and lamb and mint which personally speaking, is the best!! Their pork pies and sausage rolls are also delicious!! Highly recommend!!

C. M.By far the best pies in York - I can highly recommend their lamb and mint ones! The pies have the most perfect pastry with a delicious egg wash and crammed full of filling. Haven't ordered any meat yet but planning on in future - the guys in the butcher are all welcoming

D. B.Best pies in York? Best pies in UK probably. Like something out of the Beano or Dandy. I'm sure Desperate Dan would be happy with a steak pie from Knavesmire Butchers for his elevenses. Thin crust, plenty of filling. Pork pies good too.
They ran a great service during the early scary days of covid lockdown too, for which local residents are very grateful.
I. T.Great Butchers - Thick sausages made a great toad in the hole! We order 6 items for 6 days worth of meals and a couple of pies to keepme going whilstg i unpacked. Quality was excellent, price is comparable to any supermarket, so I will continue to support local after the lockdown.
