I received a fair price on my trade in and the new car (18' plate 5 series touring ) was beautifully prepared and delivered to me as agreed.

5 star experience at Barons Bedford. Car developed drive train and I couldn’t get book any appointment at my nearest BMW. All appointments were after 4 weeks. Rang Barons and got all booked very next day. Emily was very helpful. Explained the process very well and also she called my Warranty provider for the claim. Something which other BMW garages denied to do so Plus 1 star for that. Car got fixed on the same day. Good service.
It’s a shame that I couldn’t get courtesy car but can’t complain as my car was fixed next day.

Quick turnaround for my car’s service. Beforehand I was told it would take all day but I got a call by 10:30 am to tell me the servicing had been completed. I received a brief video from the mechanic talking me through the checks.

Would like to say a big thank you to Emily Croft from Barons BMW Bedford for looking after me and my car which came with issues from a different garage that I had bought the car from. I had a 2017 M140i which had an issue with a ghost immobiliser alarm and a missing parts. The technicians pointed me in the right direction.
Emily also dealt with the garage that I had bought the car from as she noticed that the car was not fitted with a limited slip differential (worth over £1000 used alone) that the garage had advertised when selling me the car. Emily dealt with the garage directly and made the process so much easier and hassle free. It's very hard to find top service advisors like Emily. Thank you for your help!

I took my car in for an investigation, joe was my advisor and he was brilliant, I was nervous about driving a courtesy car and he put my mind at ease, talked me through everything in the car, even offered to get someone to drive me home and he helped me to move my car seats and called me when I got home to check I was okay. Very professional, will definitely be using BMW in the future. They also offer a complimentary hand car wash which I thought was really good and a health check on your car and you get send a video of it.

The booking system was convenient and service department were helpful. In particular, Emily was very helpful. Her communication and customer service skills were first class. However, upon collection of my car the technician had forgotten to reset the service warning light or print the correct paperwork hence 4 stars. This was resolved quickly without issue.

Barons Bedford BMW (and its predecessor Elms) have serviced my BMW that I purchased from them 14 years ago. I have always had excellent service and my car remains (almost) as good as new.
The service is friendly and efficient. I can usually make a booking at a convenient time and my vehicle has always been ready on time. I usually wait while the work is done and there is a comfortable customer area with work desks. If a loan car has been essential, Barons have arranged one.
The long-term mechanical reliability of the car is a testament to the quality of work, and I consider the pricing to be fair. At each service I receive a detailed report with "advisories" for which I can plan and budget. I have never been recommended or charged for unnecessary work, and as a consequence I trust Barons Bedford.

I sourced my 'Approved Used' BMW i3 at Barons in Bedford after a long search for a car with my very specific spec 'wish list'.
The sale (including a part exchange) was handled in a very friendly manner by Nicola, and a month later, we received an invitation to a follow-up 'second handover' / familiarisation session run by 'Product Genius' William Mears who was both well-informed and good company!

First time using Barons for servicing. At reception I was met with being rather curtly told to register using an automated check in (like flight check-ins). I queried this and the instruction was repeated. Not what I was expecting. The lack of personal dialogue subsequently led to confusion about the fault, which was subsequently clarified by phone. The work itself was done quickly, professionally and ahead of time. Collection was seamless and this time, involved interaction with service staff.
All in all, I was very impressed with the servicing, but not at all with the welcome and default auto check in, which I learned can be bypassed, by customer choice.

I took my BMW for a service at Barons of Bedford. Everything is so easy now, no need to ring as everything can be done online including payment, so it was just a case of picking the car up after I had received a text message to say it was ready. From the moment I contacted Baron Dealership and spoke to Andy Brown, I found Andy to be very approachable and professional. I decided to purchase a BMW 5 Series from them and paid £1000 deposit. Not up the usual standard I’m afraid. Confusion at check in as details of a recall hadn’t been added to the schedule work. This being the second recall for ostensibly the same problem I was keen to understand the nature of the problem and was told the first recall was to change a valve and that this recall was to change the cooling system. When I went to collect the car I spoke to someone else who said both recalls were to change the cooling system. Finally when I got in the car I noticed that the idrive hadn’t been updated for the scheduled work.

All credit to Dan and his team (especially Cameron the tech guy) who made us feel quite special when we collected our new M4. We received a tempting video when the car had been delivered from Cameron showing us what we were going to receive, and this really did wet our appetite for the big day. When we arrived the car was ready for us and it was stunning, the colour (Tanzanite Blue) in the sunshine was just amazing, along with the black alloys and competition pack extras just to finish it off!
We have had Mercedes and Audi cars before but the quality of the drive is far superior coupled with the sporty / aggressive looks makes it a very, very special car. Thank you again

Th Barons Bedford dealership and service centre has restored my faith in BMW, which was tested by another location that shall remain nameless.
I had what I thought would be a difficult situation, but it was no trouble at all. I have a rescue dog that can't be left alone at home for longer periods, but the person I dealt with in the dealership was so kind and helpful, letting me take the dog with me when checking in, picking up and we had a nice chat about dogs too. Unfortunately i didn't note down her name, but it was the dark-haired lady at front of house on the morning of 18th Aug. She was also able to offer some great advice about where to take my dog to walk while i waited, if i didn't want to sit indoors.
In addition, the service was excellent. Living in the countryside with dogs means that my car isn't the cleanest (embarrassingly so), however the car was returned nicely cleaned. The video produced by the technician/mechanic was clear and informative and at no point did i feel like i was being sold unnecessary extras.
I'll keep coming back to this dealer for servicing and, when the time comes up get a new personal car or buy for business, then i'll be coming back here.
I actually had a similar good experience the previous time at this branch, but i felt that i should write a review now as this time was even better.

We were shown Self Booking in kiosks and were quickly able to book in our car and drop the keys off in a COVID secure environment.

Alex is exemplar. If all companies and establishments had members of staff with the skills, qualities and attributes of Alex - customer service would always be exceptional.

Booking the service and dropping the car off was not an issue. At drop off I was informed that I would receive a call when the car was ready to collect (expected same day collection as only engine service).
At 16:40 after not receiving any feedback from the service department I rang them to be told the car was ready to collect. Arrived at 17:10 to find the car not out the front and when going to the desk the paperwork still required processing.
This appears to be the norm for this service centre as this is not the first time this level of service has happened.

The staff are very courteous at this branch and in the service department they always do their best to provide the best service possible. However, as they always seem to be rushed off their feet (not their fault) small mistakes often happen. For example, when I returned for my car I was initially told nothing had been done to it. When I questioned this another member of staff then correctly told me the work had been done. Also, the loan car was on reserve fuel when I got in it so the first thing I had to do was limp to the nearest fuel station. I realise everyone is doing their best in these testing times so it wasn’t an issue for me that the car couldn’t be cleaned. Unfortunately, I had to clean the inside myself when I got home as a black greasy mark had been left across the leather (which is cream) further adding to the disappointment.

Barons BMW Bedford told me they would have my car for 2 hours and they would call me to keep me informed. I had to call them repeatedly after the 2 hours had expired. Only to be told the line was busy.
8 hours after I dropped the car off I got a call saying the need the car for another day due to a parts needed to be ordered (I asked them before dropping the car off if they had the parts in stock, “yes” I was told). Again I kept calling on day 2 only to be told the line was busy.
I finally get a call at 14:30 to say my car is ready.
On my arrival at BMW Bedford I found the reason the line was always busy... the person who was “handling” my car was chatting away on the phone to her friends about the weekend and their plans.
I am self employed and had to cancel 1.5 days of work thanks to BMW Barons Bedford, without so much as an apology.
EDIT: since this last catastrophe Barons BMW Bedford have been excellent in there customer service and support. I have just had my discs and pads replaced. When picking up my car I had found that lots of ‘little tweaks’ had been carried out, making my car sharper and better… all for no cost.
I am really glad that Barons BMW Bedford have returned to their night standards.

From start to finish the experience of having our car serviced by Barons BMW was just as it should be and just as good as the last time. Our courtesy car was perfect for my needs as a disabled person. Communication between us and Barons was great. We were called to remind us of our booking and again to advise that the problem was found and fixed. We were sent a video of the mechanical part of the service. At no time did we wonder or worry that things might not be done properly. I think that you can rely on Barons BMW 100% to take the time to find and fix any problem that might arise with your vehicle. Arrived to automated checkin machine with no prior warning. Process ok but detail of process in advance would have been helpful. No information of what to do after check in, I was waiting for a minor piece of work to be done. Some indication of where to wait and some bottled water would have been nice. There was no staff contact at all until my car was ready. Although there are restrictions at the moment, my experience at other dealers was more personal and yet still COVID secure.

My long suffering 3 Series was recalled for some electrical work which we agreed a date after Xmas. Understandably the Main Agent was reluctant to offer a courtesy car but did agree to expedite the work as quickly as possible, quoting 10am to 1pm maximum. I got the car in by 9.30am, went to do a bit of local shopping, came back, read the paper and by 11am the car was finished, including having been washed and internally vacuumed/valeted...... what a delight to get back to.
The ladies on the customer service desk (including Simone) were courteous, charming, helpful and efficient. In all, a very good experience.

Came in here looking to get a new car for my partner. On hearing that it would be subsidized by his company of employment the sales rep was quick to tell us we couldn't sort it out that day and we would have to come back to speak to someone else regarding business hire instead of usual finance. We had to ask a few times for him to sit down and go through the usual payment options so we could compare to other information we have gathered. It felt very dismissive at the time. In the past when I have been here to look at vehicles the sales reps have been very inviting, informative and helpful, it must have just been on this occasion the approach to the customer was different.

Took the car in for a Brake Fluid Service. Staff are happy and polite. Plenty of social distancing measures in place including staff changing gloves and protective screens. Alex who initially spoke to me on the phone was around in the showroom and must say was an absolute delight to deal with. My brother and I appreciated he took the time to come and chat with us. In addition to him, Niall was spot on, honest and didn’t give us the nonsense speak. My previous experience with David Mabutt was also similar. I have to say the guys in here really do take the time and don’t do the pushy sales. It’s straight talk and friendly banter throughout. I would thoroughly recommend. I have been buying BMW’s from numerous branches but must say this Barons wins on consistency, honesty and customer service. No access to site from A4280, you need to enter via an industrial estate, the sat nav does not tell you this! No customer parking available, I parked in a mini space rather than on the road outside. Once inside, receptionist was helpful and guided us to a good selection of cold drinks from the fridge and the hot drink machine. I was looking at PCP for my new car, this took a long-time to sort! The salesman was fairly new so it took longer than anticipated. Staff were friendly but tended to only push brand or fairly new cars. I thought they didn't really listen to my budget, therefore I walked away without a purchase.

The only disappointment was the invoice quoted that my car had been given a complimentary wash and vacuumed. However when I got to my car this hadn’t been done. I wasn’t expecting this but when I read I had been given this I was then disappointed it hasn’t been done as stated on the invoice.

Brought my M4 in for some warranty work after a very, very poor experience at another dealer. The team at Baron's Bedford were superb. A special thanks to Charlotte & Ash on the service department and the ladies on reception.
All work was completed without fuss, the loan car was well spec'd and they kept me informed at every step.
I turned up unannounced to collect the car as I was in the area, on the off-chance my car was ready for collection. Within 10 minutes, my keys were handed back to me as well as a documentation of the work and a video health check from the tech, Wayne.
All of my experiences with Baron's Bedford have been positive to date.
My only criticism is that management should look at improving their phone system which is rather unhelpful and you can expect to be on hold for 5-10 minutes before speaking to someone. There's usually only 1 person on reception for both BMW and Mini, so an improvement to call management would go a long way.

I arrived at Barons unannounced because my car was showing a faulty n/s dipped headlight. They booked my car in for attention as soon as I told them the problem and they worked on the problem while I waited and enjoyed excellent coffee. The fault was diagnosed as a failed xenon bulb unit and I really expected a hefty bill as my car was over 3 months out of warranty. However they contacted BMW while I was there and persuaded them to agree to supply the headlamp unit free of charge as a goodwill gesture. This was the second or third time this particular Service Manager has provided service well and beyond what I expected and I am extremely grateful to him. I was back on the road in around an hour and a half, which I thought was exceptional. I really can’t fault the service that this dealership and this particular Service Manager provides - they are just brilliant.

I am quite happy with the service i received from BMW Barons Bedford dealership compared to other dealerships. Charlotte Sexton from the after sales team, is very helpful and takes her time to respond to my concerns. Cannot recommend her enough. My car was inspected at another dealership where they did not find a issue with the wheel bearing, where as Barons BMW did but sadly my car is still not fully fixed but i am hope that they will try to resolve it and get to the bottom of it.
So far so good and will recommend. Will update this review at a later stage based on the outcome.

After purchasing a new 5 series in 2015 from Barons Bedford and receiving excellent service I have recently returned to purchased my second (April 18) 5 series from them.
When the new version of the car was released in 2017 I enquired about costs and the specs I wanted. I was looked after by Dan Stevens and Karl Haxton who from the beginning of the process were really helpful. They arranged to lend me the version of the car I was looking for for a day to test drive and put together a quote for me. When on reflection I decided not to make a purchase they didn't mind one bit.
When I returned in Feb 18 and asked for more figures and another test drive they arranged them without question, and I placed an order. I was kept fully informed during the whole time the car was on order even down to a video of the car arriving at the dealer, which I thought was a really nice touch.
The day after I took delivery I noticed a small (very small) chip in the paint work on one of the rear doors. I phoned the dealer in all honesty expecting them to say it could have been a stone chip and there would be nothing they could do to be asked to bring he car in for them to see. On inspection they said "no problem we'll deal with it for you". I was then expecting a touch up stick to be used to cover the chip and for it to be better but still visible, but they went to the trouble of re-spraying the whole leading edge of the door and made it perfect. Thats what I call service.
In summary I consider all my interactions with dealer to have been excellent and could not recommend them more. They have always treated me as a valued client and been highly courteous and professional and would recommend them to anyone.

Recently bought an X3 from Barons Bedford. Our experience was very positive. We were served by Karl who invested time in listening to us and getting to know what we were after, before taking us through the range which he knew in-depth and was passionate about. We ended up spending about 4 hours there, which was no problem to the team and they looked after us very well with snacks/refreshments. A car wasn't available on site but was found within a week and was delivered to us shortly afterwards by a friendly chap called John. I only booked in at Barons Bedford as last minute realised my MOT was expiring in 3 days. Wollaston Northampton had a three week waiting list and wouldn't help. I called Barons, having not used them before. They were also super busy but squeezed me in as long as I could leave the car there all day. No courtesy car available which is my fault really for the short notice, but they booked an Enterprise rental for me and made all the arrangements. Already going above and beyond in my opinion.
Anyway the car went in for its end of warranty checks and MOT. On the day of the service I was sent a text and email with a video taken by the technician, explaining what he had checked etc and noted some warranty work that would need to be booked back in.
Wow. Excellent use of technology.
Service team kept me updated throughout. I have to specifically mention Jasmine in the service team who was extremely efficient, polite and professional, but everyone I spoke to were also very good also. I should have noted their names also.
Upon collecting the car I arrived early, so they set me up at a "hot-desk" so I that could work from my laptop. Coffee and biscuits provided.
All work was then explained to me, next booking arrange (with courtesy car this time) and off i went with a washed and vacuumed car. What else could I ask for.
Barons - you now have customer for life. It's the little things like this that make people come back to buy a new car from you rather than anyone else. In my case I will travel the extra distance from my BMW usual dealer in Northampton.

Car came back clean but with a scratch on the rear bumper. :( Wipers checked as being ok but failed to observe and advise me that a small tear in O/S wiper leaves a line of water across the windscreen. Its a shame this obvious defect wasn't picked and that I wasn't given the option of having a replacement blade fitted while they had the car.

Ash Thind was excellent in terms of being clear about the work timelines, basically the car went in on Monday and was ready Tuesday morning as exactly as he stated.
He called me on Monday evening with an update and then again on Tuesday morning to say the car was ready.
He also sent through via email the Health check video completed by Enzo Vecchio which was very and then called me to discuss.
He also organised me a courtesy car.
He could have possibly explained why the work was carried out as it was a Worldwide recall I believe on a coolant fault...?
Finally he then escorted me to my car and wished me well for the rest of the day - overall a big effort and excellent service from Ash...

But I was Informed it would be ready 5 or6pm but was ready at 3.40pm so I managed to get my car back earlier.

Few things really, very difficult to get on the phone seems to do a loop on the phone not just once but several times physically went there to address an issue. Had problems with Head unit in February but had to wait 3 weeks before appointment then another 10 days to get part all the time without all the function on idrive. Then did the same one month later but would reboot each time annoying maybe 3 times in 10 miles. Just had car serviced and first MOT 12 June updated software so far so good. On invoice had my car with a mixed tyre incorrectly all tyres are Goodyear which begs the question how accurate is all other information. Definitely will try BMW in Northampton next time.

Barons BMW sent me 2 safety check videos for my BMW. These were sent on the two occasions my car was with them this year for the BMW recall work to be completed. In the first video I was told by the inspecting mechanic that the car had an oil leak! Miraculously, without any intervention to cure this, in the second video the oil leak had disappeared!!! Also while my car was with them they managed to damage the alloy wheels which they then had 2 attempts at repairing before they got it right. Overall really not a good experience. I had the supposed oil leak checked at my local independent garage which I have been using for 20 years and they could find no sign of a problem. Do you think they were fishing for work?

Why I stick with the bmw brand
Booked my 2014 BMW X5 M50d in for service @ barons bmw Bedford. It’s covered 67,000 miles so required the full inspection @ £640
I also had noticed a whining noise coming from the front diff plus it had been using coolant lately so asked them to check out these two issues, Charlotte @ barons quoted me £96 to carry this out.
It turns out that the front differential was the cause of the noise and the loss of coolant was down to the EGR cooler. My Bmw Warranty had expired back in 2018 but Charlotte said we have already spoken to bmw to see if they will help
At this point I had been in barons Courtesy car, a BMW X1 for around 4 days which was required back, Jasmine the service manager called to say she has managed to move vehicles around so that I could stay in the vehicle until the repair was complete
After the weekend I again received a call from Charlotte saying that bmw had agreed to cover the 100% parts and labour of the EGR cooler and cover 100% of the differential itself and 60% towards the labour.
This left me with a balance of around £300 from a bill that would have been ££££
Charlotte @ Barons ordered all the parts in, rebooked time into the workshop and delivered me a valeted X5 back the following week.
I couldn’t be more impressed and thankful to the team @ barons and bmw for the support

My car is in for the EGR cooler recall & I have to say communications have been poor. I popped into the Dealership the other day & the answers were a little better but nothing firm, a lot of don't knows & maybe's.
Was told my vehicle maybe ready this weekend but it's down to me to collect, if I had known this when the car was taken in I would have chosen a Dealership closer to home.
Not the greatest of experiences from BMW UK but I feel Barron's could have done more to make my experience better. Ultimately I buy & drive a BMW but it's the Dealership where I have my interaction i.e. service, new car purchase they could do more. Question is, do I give them another chance or does another Brand/Dealership deserve my money?
